It feels a hell of a lot better than we were going 8 and 8 every year

Just good enough that we couldn’t get top of the draft selections just bad enough that we didn’t make the playiffs

    Oh god don’t remind me. The days of wanting to just lose to get Cam Newton instead of Dareus. {shutters}

Lots of posters here fawning over Schoen and Daboll, when they haven’t won ****

Because they took a really bad Giants team and have seemingly turned it around….. which is what McD and Beane get credit here for and rightfully so.

that said just Turing the team around is no longer good enough for the Bills brass. This team has failed when it mattered most in the most extreme ways.

Dude you're wasting your time. This is the same guy that 20 years ago would be wishing for this to be something to complain about.

They want to sit there and complain as if we didn't win 13 games last year and the year before with a team that is built and built very well. Did he miss on a few picks? Sure.... but what about the Gabe Davis', Matt Milano's, Benford, Neal, Knox, etc etc etc ... He absolutely needs to be better in rounds 1 and 2, there's no doubt but hes far from a poor drafter. I believe I saw the Bills retain most of their picks beyond most in the league.

    They won 13 games. Cool.

    do they get a trophy?

So long as he hits on players like Benford, he can do whatever he wants.

Leach drafted CEH in the first round for the Chiefs.

We really picking on the GM who’s team has won Two of the last 4 Superbowls and has been in 3 of 4 and was very close to going to 4 straight.

Atlanta has lost two NHL teams. I think the league would be stupid to allow another franchise for that city. They apparently don't support hockey in that town.

TBF to Atlanta. They put the arena in an awful spot with an ownership group who wanted nothing to do with the team. They had to buy the Thrashers to get the Hawks. The owners then sued each other and it was a mess.

hockey is very big in North Atlanta, Marietta, Alpharetta etc.

You put a team there instead of lower inner city and it thrives. IMO.

Its 27 years old now.  There has never been any significant renovation, which technically makes it about the oldest arena in the league.  It is ugly/worn on the inside, the seats are decrepit and disgusting.   It was also built much cheaper than arenas around the same timeframe, and the cheapness shines through over time.

Most/all of its contemporaries 90s arenas have had major renovations in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

The seating bowl is a terrible design for site lines, the concourses (especially in the 300 level) are horrible, the bubble roof sucks the life out of the place, and the outside of it looks terrible (and worn/faded).

It is going to need a decent sum of money, and the public ask will be coming.

I thought They already tried to bill like 200 something mil when the Bills stadium was proposed IIRC to cover upgrades.

    Point by point:

    1.  I am a believer that you win up front.   The Bills have not been in a position to draft a top end tackle because of the success they've had - most of those guys go in the top of the first round.  Brown had a tough outing yesterday from what I'm reading (haven't watched the game yet).  But you can't blame a GM for not being Nostradamus when you go out and get a veteran who's started in the league as competition, and he decides to retire.  So it was not a joke.  I think we're either going to see another T brought in this week, or we may see the Dutch kid get the start.

    2.  I am wondering if Dawkins may be suffering from long Covid effects myself.  If so, the medical staff needed to alert Beane.  But I think Dawkins will be OK.  we should prioritize drafting a T next year though.

    3.  If Poyer leaves in free agency who do you have to replace him?  No one knew if Hamlin could or would play again.  And we hadn't even sniffed at Rapp yet.  Poyer will also be fine.  He may have lost a step, but veterans make up for that with their understanding of where plays are going.  So I am not panicking over one run in a pre-season game.

    4.  Without Oliver you would have had 1 DT under contract next year.  One.  Oliver will also be fine, everyone was expecting the second coming of Donald.

    5.  Elam needs to learn zone concepts more and quit grabbing as much.  It is the beginning of his second season in the league and he's still got things to learn.   We have 4 corners that can play in the NFL which is more than many teams can say.

I’m not trying to be mean when I say this, but this is the epitome of a rose colored glasses post.

No veterans sometimes cannot make up for losing the physical ability. That’s why people retire as they get older because the body just can’t.

Ed Oliver, I believe is the worst rated defensive tackle from that entire front half of that draft class. And only having one defense of tackle on the roster, that is an oversight and I feel they were forced into signing Oliver.

The offenses and defensive lines have been a problem since they’ve got here and they’ve spent countless resources to try and fix it, and it’s still a work in progress.

This team should be one of the top teams in the NFL when it’s all said and done but we cannot pretend that there aren’t some massive massive questions about the personnel decisions that have been made that could play a key factor is determining 1st seed home field or 5th seed WC playoff game.

  9. Call a spade a spade. They sucked last night.

“but its preseason”.  guess what. It’s also preseason for the other team too.

the plan we can all agree wasn’t for the Bills to appear completely outmatched for an entire half.

shake it off. Clean up the mental stuff and pray that one of the MLBs and OTs figure it out in time for the season opener.

So much for the posters privately wishing McDermott is on the hot seat.

These guys should be forever grateful to Josh Allen, he’s earned them a lot of dough.

    Has anyone wished he was?

or is it, if they get bounced again in a bad or inexcusable playoff performance it should be considered.

    IN THE DESERT

    by Stephen Crane

    In the desert

I saw a Buffalo Bills fan, naked, bestial,

    Who, squatting upon the ground,

Held his heart in his hands,

    And ate of it.

I said, “Is it good, friend?”

    “It is bitter—bitter,” he answered;

    “But I like it

    “Because it is bitter,

“And because it is my heart.”

    Pass.

but there is a lot of heat surrounding McDermott from the national media.
    just or not nobody knows.

but it seems the attention has been turned up quite a bit in the last few days.

Based on the interviews from Josh, Sean and Von. This makes the most sense. Itll explain the reasoning when Josh Allen says its not all about football and teamwork/communcation should be better. Itll explain why Sean is a little peeved as he doesnt want player putting their input into his coaching staff. I think Stefon Diggs just wants some input in the team direction and especially when it effects him personally. The WR coach was also involved in the meeting.

I dont think it has anything to do with Dorsey... but feel maybe we ignored Diggs request of a WR coach or maybe wasnt even asked at all.

If they didn’t want that, maybe they shouldn’t have let Josh Allen then handpick Dorsey for the OC?

also, I think they would be the only team that doesn’t talk to star players about coaches they want to hire

So diggs waited a whole year to show his displeasure for Dorsey?

I'm not advocating for Dorsey but normally when I'm mad about something, someone is going to know quick.

Still not sure about the whole Hall situation though.

How do you know he didn’t and the bills just said too bad this is our guy?

Can you also blame the leader ship of this team a.k.a. the Coach and GM for also not helping resolve this issue or is that not allowed?
