That would be a horrendous trade

Just going to have Elam ride the pine another season though?  Given Beane has traded the likes of Sammy Watkins or Ronald Darby away, wouldn’t shock me if he does the same with Elam to at least get some kind of pick in return.  Don’t know that the rest of our DB room has much trade value, but we seem to have a pretty deep CB room and I don’t know how much better Elam is versus the rest of the backups.

This comes up every year.  Love the 90s Bills, they were a big part of my childhood but it's time to look forward.

Or comes up two days ago, lol:

I am not sure how you use the word culture.  But every season is a coaches ability overall.   And the coaches are evaluated mostly against expectations.  For example, no one is going to call for Jim Harboughs head if the Chargers don't win the Super Bowl.   In my opinion Beane and McDermott are highly skilled in setting expectations with the broader fan base that are fairly easy to achieve.  This season if the Bills make the playoffs and lose early, the season will be viewed as a big success by most fans.

It seems crazy to me.  But Jets fans/Jets media who follow a team with a 40 year old QB and a head coach who has never won a playoff game are looking forward to a Super Bowl run. Dolphins Fans/media who follow a team with a fragile QB who has never won a playoff game and a head coach without demonstrated success similarly are looking foward to  Super Bowl run.  Meanwhile Bills Fans/Media who follow a team with one of the two best QBs in the NFL and a Head Coach entering his 8th season seem to have been condtioned that success means anything better than a 9-8 record.

The McBeane “culture” in my statement is referring to Beane’s ability to find talent and leaders in an offseason where the roster needed a facelift, and then McD and other coaches’ ability to turn that into results on the field for the team.  I’m choosing to stay optimistic, mainly because we have Josh on our team and he seems super focused from what I’ve seen and heard of him in camp.

Cook is no Thurman.  Thurman could actually catch the ball.

Right, but the point is it’s not a bad thing to have two starting caliber RBs on the roster.  It’s a long season and the likelihood is they’re going to get dinged up along the way.  Why trade away one of the two guys now when we’ll likely need the player more this season versus a pick next offseason?

Isnt he looking like the typical pre season crush on a player we have every single year. Only to find out he doesn’t make the team and ends up on the PS if that?

now, I’ll admit that his timing is incredible with the Milano injury. We’ll see.

Have him and Milano ever been sighted in the same place together?  Just sayin’.

I was thinking maybe the next John Holocek.

But seriously, he had one (admittedly) solid game. From the sound of it here you'd think the guy is ready to make the Pro Bowl.

McDermott famously doesn't put a lot of trust in rookies, so this guy really making the 53 and contributing is still a long shot. He would be a great candidate for the PS, with the expectation that he push for a spot next year. We'll see what happens in the Carolina game.

Agreed, the kid might have just had a great game given they’d practiced against the Steelers all week and had a good read on what they’re doing.  Will be interesting to see how much he can keep this up.

That tells me that the coaching staff has engrained their philosophy into the team to the point that it’s a problem. Picture convincing a number 1 WR that it’s better that their targets are limited for more rushing attempts. No wonder Diggs wanted out.

The player actually was on the team over 15 years ago, so was never part of the McBeane era.  But this year will be telling as to whether a philosophy of a more balanced offensive attack is better than one that puts more emphasis on the passing game.  I’m hoping the former ends up being the better answer, given that seems to be what we’re going to get.

The card said "Pink Zebra Moving"  which AI tells me - shockingly - is a moving company.

I guess when you're an unemployed punter, you have to earn your grocery money some other way.

Chrisman is actually a new franchise owner of Pink Zebra moving from what I found:

Well, to be fair, Thurman was a HOFer and Kenneth Davis was a quality backup.

If Allen had those two, Allen has 3 rings now, not Mahomes.

So if we trade Cook and Davis needs to be spelled or get injured, are we good with Ty Johnson or whomever being our starter for a few games or more?  I’d prefer two starting level RBs on my team versus one this year, and don’t see the value of trading one of those pieces away for a future draft pick that won’t help this season.  If Beane trades Cook and Davis gets hurt the next week, this place would be calling for Beane’s head.
