Okay. I'll predict that this doesn't happen.
Right, but it also seems like you’re trying to downplay what has happened. There’s a reason the knee jerk reaction to the Bills trading a pick to the SB champs so that they could draft the fastest WR ever and someone they clearly had a 1st round grade on was disbelief. And the first piece of actual game evidence is so far supporting that reaction. -

No, it really doesn't support that view. Because scoring a TD on a miscommunication/blown coverage has nothing to do with being the fastest person in combine history. Now on the first TD of course his speed was a factor. But you don't draft WRs in the 1st round to score on well blocked reverses. You draft them there to consistently win against coverage and produce at a high level. Many fast WRs throughout the league would have scored there too. It is still a great play, the elite speed showed up, but it gives us no new information to evaluate whether the player is a 1st round talent or not.
To make this point obvious, imagine if for the rest of Worthy's career he produces almost exclusively on reverses and blown coverages. Think the Chiefs or anyone will give him a huge extension? Obviously not. In that scenario his career ceiling is Mecole Hardman.
If he gets two TDs a game for the rest of his career on only reverses and blown coverages, Worthy will get paid handsomely. -

This is really a stupid mindset for a franchise to take. Draft and FA is about making your team better thats it. Can I pick up a third rd pick and still get the guy I like is the only way of looking at it. Arm chair gm you cant trade with the Chiefs. You would rather the Bills draft Coleman at 28 snd not get Carter? Worthy likley still ends up in KC anyway?
Don’t forget the Chiefs also got a 4th round pick that they used on a safety in Jaden Hicks too. And for the Bills fans like yourself that have the rose-colored glasses about this move and are sitting here in denial about it right now, I think that’s a completely stupid mindset. Everyone is correct that only time will eventually tell who got the better part of the deal. But the initial view of it was that the Bills directly gave the Chiefs a weapon in the fastest WR ever, where Andy Reid is known for utilizing speed better than just about any coach. And first game in, Worthy goes out and scores two TDs both of which were over 20 yards. So the first piece of realevidence supports the view that it was a bad move for the Bills to have done that. There will be lots more evidence for or against this view throughout the season, but to not recognize what has happened so far is being irrational.

Dwayne Carter and a Wr they likely liked more for Worthy? Why wouldnt they make that trade?
Even if they didn’t like Worthy for their offensive schemes, they should know enough about what their #1 nemesis is going to want, the fastest WR ever, and not help them get that guy. But maybe McD is looking forward to the challenge of Rapp & Hamlin trying to protect over top and then Rice, Kelce & Pacheco tearing us apart underneath. -

Those are all fine sentiments.. but I think people who are buffalonions have people in Buffalo who grew up with them
I know it says she was born in Buffalo on Wikipedia but I think that was like a passerby birth... Terry was living in olean/Pennsylvania.. Kim was from Rochester.. and even Rochester is Western New York, but buffalonions don't consider it buffalo
Jessica was not raised here or went to school here... Nobody in cheektowaga Buffalo Amherst williamsville grew up with her
Garret Gilbert is an NFL quarterback who was born in Buffalo... Cuz his father was our backup... But he was raised in Texas and nobody considers him a buffalonion
The gronkowskis, macks , mcduffies , Kane, now andreeson family all have roots in the Buffalo area and plenty of people have stories and memories of growing up with them
Again I'm very thankful for Terry and I hope Jessica has much success but growing up in Buffalo is part of being a Buffalonion to most here
Their family has embraced Buffalo and buffalo has embraced them but nobody from that family has ever lived here
As I just said Garrett Gilbert the NFL quarterback is from Buffalo also
Because his father was our backup..
Nobody considers Garrett Gilbert in Buffalo a Buffalonion..
Jessica’s husband also went to Williamsville North and Canisius. Do you think he accepts her as a Buffalonian enough? What is good enough for the City of Good Neighbors?

My friend is a niners fan (and self proclaimed Capologist) and is convinced we're going to restructure Von's deal this week to get in under the cap for the 53.
I think we can save about $5m by converting his roster bonus to signing. However, I thought we might not want to do it with him, as this year as we're taking medicine on many of the older guys, and might want to move on from his contract next year.
What do you reckon? Any other moves needed instead? Extend Spencer Brown?
OTC has us $395k over just now (third least 2024 space in the league). We're only 5th in active spending (192m) and have 63m dead cap (thanks Stefon!).
What is happening next? Nice call 😃-

Let me ask you this...if you are unhappy with what McD and Beane have "done"...as in past tense...then why are you and others seemingly upset at them now going away from what they have previously "done" and trying a new approach? And all before we see what this even looks like in a real game.
Picking Worthy for example would have been the same old stuff as before...another undersized WR who isn't physical. We have been losing the physical battle in the postseason in all our playoff exits. We have lost in the trenches, our WR's are taken out of the games by more physical corners, bad weather, etc. We also stunk at running the ball the majority of the past 4 playoffs too, another important aspect that people seem to miss about playoff football. I mean look at the Chiefs, their ability to run the ball or do quick short throws as an extension of running the ball has been a core piece of their back to back Super Bowl runs, not to mention how much they win in the trenches with that OL and the Chris Jones led DL.
So for me, I feel like the people who are the biggest critics of what Beane has previously "done" should at least like the fact he is trying to support Allen with a better run game, more reliable pass catches, more diversity including more size and toughness across his offensive weapons.
Will it work...we don't know yet, but I would think there would at least be more positivity from those who have not liked their past decisions to see them taking a different approach as opposed to keep on doing the same things that didn't get us to where we wanted to go.
I actually think overall, Beane has done a pretty good to great job with the roster. But in this specific instance, I have a real problem with the trade and think it’s perfect acceptable and rational to question it. Maybe time and his wiazardry will prove me wrong. But it’s okay to not bow to every move either Beane or McD make. -

Plenty to criticize Beane for but I'll never criticize him for refusing to play scared of the Chiefs. If that's his mindset he's already lost the ability to do his job. You gotta trust your evaluations and do what you think is right for your team.
He had no 1st round grades on his board so he traded back and got a free 3rd rounder out of it. The idea that he shouldn't have done that just because it made it slightly more likely the Chiefs got a player they might have gotten anyways is chicken little thinking. It's entirely possible we would have taken Coleman at 28 and the Chiefs would have taken Worthy at 32 anyways. Same result but we don't pick up a 3rd rounder.
I know we live an era of hot takes but let's give the draft class a couple years to develop before we make sweeping judgments, yeah?
I think it’s completely fine to have made an initial judgment at draft time, re-assess that judgment now, and then re-assess it down the road too. I HOPE that Coleman is a HOFer and that Worthy’s best game ever just happens to be last night. That said, I think there’s a lot of denial and rationalization of the Worthy trade happening right now, versus recognizing the evidence that we’ve allowed our nemesis to pick up the fastest WR ever, all the while knowing that Andy Reid has capitalized on that kind of talent over-and-over in his coaching career.-

I agree with this, seems like more often than not, the returner would get to at least the 25 yard line, which doesn't give the kicking much incentive to put it in play.
I heard the average starting position in the preseason was even the 28 yard line, so even less incentive to risk a return if you have a kicker that can kick for the touchback. -

I just don't see it that way but I understand why its such a sore spot with so many fans.
I am of the belief you do what is best for your team at all times, if that means trading with a rival or divisional opponent you do it.
Coleman and Carter are not stiff's so I look forward to them playing well as the season progresses
if Coleman and Carter can ball out for the Bills and we eventually get by the Chiefs, I will be happy as a clam 👍-

He is a great fit for their team and Andy Reid already knows exactly how to use him and protect him because he is Desean Jackson.
I don't know why people are so riled up over him. The chiefs would have got him one way or another and the bills grabbed an extra third by swapping spots and their four.
I like Keon Coleman and Dewayne Carter and think they will be good players for a long time here and that is how you build a good team.
I don't think the bills would have gotten out of Worthy what KC will. I honestly am not sure if anyone would maximize his talent like KC will.
In my brain this has nothing to do with the Bills and all this monday morning quarterbacking is odd to me.
Next year the bills will add another wr in the draft and maybe free agency and in two years we could be looking at a really good group of dynamic young wr along with kincaid. Coleman will be a part of that.
It’d be like giving Russia nuclear secrets in exchange for something. Yeah, they might figure this stuff out on their own eventually anyway. But, to help arm your nemesis with something that could come back to haunt us is what’s questionable.-

No you couldn’t. Two defenders had good angles with clean shots at him. He outran those angles.
Agreed. When you’re as fast as Worthy AND get blocking like that, the TD looks easy.-

Now THIS I can agree on.
The big reason I wanted Worthy is that I thought having he and Samuel on the outside would open things up underneath for Shakir, Kincaid, and Knox. That for a team who seems to want to run their offense through their tight end and slot receiver, the best possible thing they could do is get an explosive option outside to take the top off the defense and create space underneath.
And even if we preferred Coleman for what we want to do over Worthy, does it make sense to allow the team we are trying to get past to have that weapon? If we don’t make the trade, it’s possible another team takes Worthy before the Chiefs get him. And at least we aren’t the ones to blame for it then.-

It’s completely rational. Before last night, it was already a questionable move to allow KC to move up and select the fastest WR ever. And then the same player goes out and gets a 20+ yard rushing TD and 30+ yard receiving TD.
They were saying on WGR this morning that in past however many years, only five players have accomplished that feat in a game. Four of the five have been on Andy Reid coached teams, including the likes of DeSean Jackson and Tyreke Hill.
It’s totally rational to have been skeptical of the trade when it happened, and at least continuing to be skeptical after last night, if not more so.
It’s irrational to not be skeptical.

The crowd was behind her, and I expect a repeat of that, for the championship.
There’s no doubt the crowd will be heavily backing Jess. Sabalenka willbe really tough to beat, but would be an amazing moment if Pegula can pull off the upset.

My biggest question - Is Josh ready to take his game and this team to another level of play? I have a sneaking suspicion Josh wants to show a lot of people up this season (Diggs and others calling him overrated), and is in the best mental space and potentially physical state that he has been in maybe his career. Tomorrow is the first live test.
