    Well I've finally heard a football guy say nice things about Chris Williams ( a Chicago Scout on John Murphy) so that's something - before that it it seemed universally the word disappointing was used- I'll admit I've never focused on Chris Williams performance so my opinion was formed solely on things I've read.

    I really like Donte Moncrief who I think is about 96% as good as Watkins - and he's a 2nd or 3rd round guy, this draft is pretty deep in WRs and I'm not moving up unless their is a massive difference between SW and the rest which I don't see.

    You lose a guy Byrd who is top 3 in his position - you sign a good special teams player Graham and then Sign Chris Williams and Keith Rivers who are almost universally considered players who you do not want as your starters - I fail to see how this is an excellent job in free agency- those 3 signings cost more than what Byrd got or Byrd's franchise tag.

    You don't want to over pay players but paying four low level players $250,000 -$500,000 over value is just as bad or worse then over paying a high value player 1.5 mil over value and the very worse value is not spending at all.

    SF never had the mono-industry Detroit had, hell Buffalo had more diverse industry but we ended up with similar problems at a smaller scale -Pittsburgh has done a pretty good job of reinventing itself

    Boom Bust is always a problem because you can take money out of you pocket and build during the expansion but you can't unbuild and put money into your pocket during the contraction- miles of streets with decreased population require the same patrolling/snow removal/ repair as before but with a diminishing tax base.
