  1. If you get Moore to groom Allen, McCarron doesn't have the experience in NFL yet to do that, they would be competing anyway. Then at end of camp you decide whether Peterman is worth anything, if he doesn't start he is not, he can't groom Allen and as a backup NO.

What about a old Bills safety in Byrd as a backup for 1-2 mil a yr if he would take it. He liked Buffalo.

I wouldn’t mind doubling down on QB with Lauletta / White / Falk still on the board.

Need 4 in camp, offense defense for 1st team and second team.

Take these 5 picks and turn them into 2. Get me the best WR and LB available.

At this point numbers are better, coin flip who makes it.

I liked Cain with our 3rd pick, but with so many WR's going off the board yesterday, Cain will probably not make it 21 picks into the 4th round.

It's a little bit more than 1% 11-12 teams (~35%) this year will have opening day starters that were not first round picks, and that's been pretty much the standard for the last 10 years. Among the better QBS you have Wilson, Cousins, Carr,  Garappolo, Brady, Brees. It's not exactly the prescribed route, but it's far from a wing and a prayer.

Some of the best all time were not top 10 QB's picked. Montana was 3rd rounder I believe. Favre was a late second round, Marino was picked near end of 1st just like Jackson this year. Brees 2nd, Wilson 3rd, Brady 6th, Theismann 4th, Staubach 10th, Stabler 2nd, Blanda 12th, Tarkenton 3rd, Star 17th, Fouts 3rd, Rypien 6th, Brocklin 4th, Warner undrafted, Jurgensen 4th, Unitas 9th.

This is very good. It means our staff uses common sense and rational thought and understands values and projection. Beane does not seem like the type of guy who will reach.

So a guy that threw for 5000 yards in two seasons, 56% and two shoulder injuries at 7 was what the Bills thought was a good idea. Maybe it works but this more likely sounds like it won't.

It's funny that a decent amount of people thought the Bills could pick him at 12.

Well, it turns out he DID get taken with the 12th pick....of the 3rd round!

Wilson got picked in the 3rd, some people drop. This happened because 5 QB's taken in 1st round.

I know NE was interested too for Brady's backup. Looks like Pittsburg is good for another 12 years.

I would be interested in a QB if the FO office think the QB is better than Peterman.  If not, no worries.  So, I guess if they have one of those 2nd tier QBs graded high I would be okay with taking one.

Based on all teams passing on the QB's remaining I would think that none of them have good odds to make it in the NFL.

I wonder what the Bills think of their need at WR.  They traded for Benjamin , say they still have confidence in Zay Jones, still have Streater and added Kaelin Clay and Kerley

    speed= Coutee or Calloway

I wasn't up for a trade up in the third but one in the fourth for a wide receiver may be worth it.  Brown has some great potential.

Coutee WR, Callaway WR, Ian Thomas TE, Lauletta QB ( just in case), Jewell ILB, Cain WR

    3 minutes ago, Manther said:

I don't know much about Brown, but, I think if we add a WR in the draft they need to be capable or being a #1 or #2 WR.  Not a slot WR.  Otherwise address another position.  I don't feel the need to load up #3-#6 WR's.  Those WR's can be found almost anywhere.  No track stars or pure burners.

Who said 7 was worth three 1st rounders.  I said that we could have paid way more for a QB if they didn't wait.  They saved 22 by holding out when many fans wanted us to trade the house for 2 or 4.  Trading from outside the top ten to inside the top ten to take a potential franchise QB while teams like the Cardinals and the Dolphins were in the vicinity...I'm not surprised we had to overpay.

Overpaid for getting a potential franchise QB and yet we kept our 2nd first round pick?  Some predicted we would have to give up three first round picks.  What do you think about that?

keywords:  "potential"  "predicted" "3 - 1st round picks"

The charts say we overpaid, should have been 12 , 53 and 121.

McCarron has potential and a 2-1 NFL record, I will take that 1st.

McCarron has a 36-4 NCAA record and 2 Championships and much better stats.

Number 7 pick was never worth 3- 1st round picks.

Then why didn't he go #1?

Maybe Beane asked him why none of his teammates went to his 21st birthday party.

They asked Rosen if he remembered having concussions and he said yeah which of the half dozen do you want to ask me about.

Well Beane made the pick understanding that he would be on damage control right away. He also made the pick knowing a bunch of fans would cry over it. At least he made the choice he felt was right and not the easy one.

I'd pump the brakes a little but if you wanna set your hair on fire and run around in circles then do it. Thanks for another I don't like Josh Allen post with nothing new to add to the pile.

Beane admitted today he thought he would be drafting Edmunds at 12. So basically Allen cost us 22, 53, 56 and 65. Add to that the plan is not to play him this year and most likely not next year either. So Allen cost us basically 2 second round picks more to sit. That is allot of bodies not playing for the Bills!

NO WAY Allen starts the season.....that would be a football miracle.  He will ride the pine for a few games and learn......not saying AJ is football Jesus but he certainly has some knowledge to pass on and he as one person said - "ain't giving that job up without a fight"

Top 10 talent should be good enough to start. Saying that means there might be setback but why do you draft a top 10 QB if he isn't going to be given the opportunity to win the job. If he doesn't win it you have to say moving up to get him was a mistake, Allen could still be good down the line but you lost out adding good players to help you this year. I am sure McDermont would not be happy with that.

Just now, No Place To Hyde said:

Lots of people said the same thing about Wentz his rookie year. Not calling Allen Wentz (though some have made the comparison)...but it's not impossible.

This needs to happen now or we will miss pick 53, 56 and 65 this year.

They will all compete in camp. Rosen is the most likely to start imo, Darnold #2.

Mayfield will win win the job in camp and lose the job under live fire

    Arizona needs Rosen to start.

Seriously, does anyone believe that any of these guys, barring injury will win the day one starting job this year?  I sure as hell don't.

Which begs the question:  Why were 5 QB's taken in the first round.. LOL

    Tim-

Social Media has created a path to destruction for teams. Money is made by listening to fans bases, pays the bills. Not saying all situations fit that bill but when has QB position become more important than the WHOLE TEAM. In Bills situation they risked a future franchise QB for 3 other players that probably could have helped now. I still believe if the Bills drafted Daniels, Chark and Dawson today we would be better off. If Bills had picked Edmunds 12 and made Tampa trade and added Esch too, Bills would be better off this year. Bills waited to 12 maybe Allen would have fallen could have taken him still did Tampa trade and still added 3 more players. This is not about Allen, the Bills now should open competition for QB starter and may the best man win. If Allen starts this year that helps Buffalo's future, top 10 picks usually don't sit!

I'm already sick and tired of reading all the negative posts and reactions on this board.

Josh Allen is a young kid. If you were a young kid, drafted with all the expectations of a rabid community on your shoulders, how do you think you'd feel if you read this board and found out that half or this community hates you and expects you to fail? You'd probably be disheartened by the lack of love and faith. You might even be less motivated to achieve your potential. Is this what you all want? Is validating your opinion more important than the future of this franchise?

I'm tired of it. This kid is our future - let's invest in him. Let's do our part. I want him to feel motivated by hearing about all the positivity that's coming out of the community. If he ever comes to this board, I want him to feel the Buffa-LOVE.

So Josh Allen, if you're reading this, I want you to know that we've got your back. I have faith. And I Bill-ieve.

I feel PRETTY, oh so PRETTY

But we would have had Rudolph, in this scenario. Just want to point out he’s not ... good.

allen might not be either but Rudolph is basically Peterman.

Rudolph will be selected in the 2nd round, Peterman was drafted in the 5th round. That puts Rudolph closer to being Allen then Peterman.

Let's see if the Bills next Day 2 and Day 3 moves coincide with your analysis to some degree.

    Mine looks this way:

    1. DE

    2. RB

    3. OLB

    4. WR

    5. TE
