Marv levi always said when you start listening to the fans you end up on the unemployment line or fired. This tells me Bean and company did their Job. Beane signaled the whole off season what he was looking for In a QB then he proceeded to take that exact QB he described. He also traded up for him and would have done so at 4 and 5. So there is no Mystery here what so ever. He called his shot & then he took his shot. Now your going to get mad at bean for doing it. Just because Beane did not take the QB you wanted does not mean he did not pick the right QB. Get over your selves and start getting behind our New franchise QB. Either your a Bills fan or your not. There is plenty of room here to root for Rosen

You can turn In your Bills fan and mafia card at the door ?, will see you later.

Yes the Bills have done the impossible and turn 6 high picks into 3. One of the players will not be helping the Bills directly in games for probably two years. I may feel better when those days come but right now with what they had I would give the Bills a D in this draft. Edmunds would have to become Lawrence Taylor and Bills could have had him at 12. Guess we will just wait and see.

Allen isn't ideal by any means but he's leagues better than guys like Rudolph and Lauletta.

The price was too high though.

Not arguing who is Allen because we difintely don't know. I wouldn't care if we had drafted Rosen too, my thought is still the same losing 53, 56 and 65 for a QB was stupid because he won't be playing or will be forced to play. Why did they get McCarron, seems to me if Allen is your guy you would have got a Veteran to work with Allen not someone who wants to compete for the job. We could today have Daniels, Chark, Rudolph, Pettis, etc.. to our team but now where does our WR, C/G come from. Our roster is adequate but definitely need some upgrades.

Not for nothin' - this is NOT a blog and we are NOT bloggers.

We are on a web page with articles and commenting with no real media back ground pretending to be opinionated media writers, I am including me. What would you call it? Not a direct comment section to a specific article.

He definitely now is drafted higher because of physical skills but your opinion is just that. You have no idea whether these guys turn into good pros. Bills don't know Allen will, they are desperate for a franchise QB and Bills have never picked a QB this high before.

  3. I have been saying since Buffalo got to the 12th pick they should stay put. Bills get Allen (high potential) and Edmunds MLB ( 2 best linebacker. It cost us 53,56 and 65. that is allot and why I wanted to stay put. The way it worked out we could have had Edmunds at 12 and got Rudolph at 22 or waited till 2 or 3rd round and got Lauletta. We would still have gotten some pretty good players at 53, 56 and 65. Bills got had because fans have been crying so long for a franchise guy it strapped their hands. Hope all you guys that were calling for this are happy. Allen sits TWO years guaranteed. Now we still have holes to fill and don't have a pick till 96. I would take Edmunds Rudolph and 53,56 and 65 over Allen and Edmunds. WAY TOO GO "Message Boarder's"  (BLOGGERS)!

I'd give it an A-.  We got our QB and a stud LB who was way underdrafted (most mocks had him top 10).  Only issue i have is we gave up too much to get Allen.  Both of 2nd round picks to move up 5 spots to 7 is a lot IMO.

It should have cost us 22 and if it had there goes getting Edmunds. Then you can 2nd rate linebackers in the second round. I could have done without Allen, OK with McCarron and would have been happy with Lauletta or Rudolph. 60% of Bills fans wanted Buffalo to move up, the only choice was 7th and that was the cost. I would have taken Edmunds at 12 and 22 would have took Rudolph. Kept all our picks!!!!

I've never seen so much hate for a player like we've seen for Allen. He is going to be great.

Fantasy football never works. That is what this board does most of the time. Frustrating when these guys jump on you for your thought and we end up allot closer to the truth than they do with their wild thoughts. They forget there are other teams with dreams too. Buffalo brass got what they wanted, QB to groom and their MLB. Still have 5 picks left so they can get fillers. Maybe Bills trade 1st next year and 3rd and get back in the 1st round. We shall see.

Losing 53, 56 and 65 hurts, especially in this draft where the 2nd and 3rd round was supposedly very strong. If Allen and Edmunds end up being star players it was worth it. Otherwise...Ouch

That is what all Bills fans said we got all our picks for to trade up!!!!!!!!! We got a top 4 QB and a stud linebacker. To me most Bills fans are fickle. They want exactly what they can't get. Somehow Rosen sitting on the bench is better. I would rather we kept all our picks and got who fell to us by I was laughed at on these boards. YOU GOT WHAT YOU ASKED FOR. Enjoy!

Just saw Rex and Bill Polian on ESPN NFL Live talking about the Bills and a trade up for a QB. They were both convinced it will happen. Rex said that Terry Pegula is hungry and bold and ready for a franchise QB. He believes Buffalo will move up and make a bold move.

Exactly why it won't happen. Kelly was grabbed at 14, if draft IS this good at QB position then a QB can be had at 12.

  8. Cleveland, Jets, Bills, Denver all went into free agency and got QB's that can play for them 2-3 years. Why would you spend that money then draft a QB who didn't need time to develop. Arizona is desperate enough to move up, could win with a top QB. Buffalo and Cleveland have time to develop a QB. You don't waste draft picks to let a QB sit and watch. The Bills actions say they have capital to move up and get ANY player they target as who they want. To me that means MLB, WR, DT and a QB for the future that needs time.

I think Cleveland grabs Chubb's 1st overall. Giants go with Barkley. Jets get Darnold. Cleveland gets Baker at 4th.

  9. I now believe Buffalo with the 12th pick grabs Rudolph. Darnold is gone at 1st pick, no way Cleveland takes a chance like Manziel. Baker has too many questions at 1st overall. Jets get Rosen or Allen. Bills are serious and want 1st round talent that is Rudolph, he has really no issues and allot of production. Soft touch can be taught. He is a outstanding individual and very smart.

I'll be at The Draft all three days and want to yell when he's picked.

ME!!!!!!! unless 1st overall after trading to Cleveland for 1st pick. I will take the cash to get beat up!

Trading up for Allen will hurt. I'll hope for the best with either him or Lamar, because they do have upside (and I think Lamar will have immediate success), but Rosen is who I think will light it up for years.

    Till his "skinny" gets hurt!!!!

I firmly believe Rosen is Buffalo's target.  Buffalo didnt bring in a starter or a mentor.  They brought in Mccarron to compete against the rookie.  The only guy I think walks into any team and expects to take the job day one is Rosen.  They dont risk him going somewhere else or falling.  3 1s to the gets for Rosen and a 5th.

Actually that would be Darnold or Baker. Rosen may need a year to build body and put time from concussion issues. That is why he will go to the Jets who got TWO QB's to use before and give Rosen time.

As I've mentioned before, trading up for Allen will only compound the disaster of picking him. If we're going to take a flyer on him, at least don't trade up to do it.

Unless Bills think Allen can compete immediately that will be a bad selection even if he can be had a 22. Rudolph, Baker, Darnold, Lauletta, Falk can at least compete immediately with Peterman and McCarron. I would stay far away from Jackson and his "skinny" core, just doesn't have a NFL body, Randall Cunningham all the way.

I continue to believe Beane is not dumb enough to like Allen. Beane is to bright to hitch his wagon to a HUGE project. Beane is the only GM since John Butler that I thought knew what the hell he was doing. I wouldn’t draft Allen in the 7th round and I’m not joking. If they move up and select him I will lose all faith in this regime. And if he selects him over Rosen it’s gonna be like if the Colts selected Leaf over Manning. If I’m wrong I’m gonna need therapy.

I agree because he knows Bills need allot more than a Franchise QB. I am sure McDermott is not writing 2018 off.

Credit to 26CornerBlitz for finding this and posting it in another thread presently on this first page, but this also confirms that Allen is the consensus #2 QB on teams' boards:

Then I would wait till round 2 at 53 and take Rudolph, Lauletta or Falk. These guys can compete immediately with McCarron and Peterman, may the best man win but keep all 3.

I'm PRAYING for Cleveland to take Allen #1 overall.

I don't think it's going to happen however.

Allen by far has the biggest upside, could be Elway or Russell. His accuracy is what is questioned but he has a better TD to INT ratio than Darnold. Rosen has the best all around traits but has concussion and attitude issues. Darnold is the best prospect not to fail. Baker is the most ready as a rookie, pure athlete.

I would just as soon have the Bills use the 12th pick on either Rosen or Mayfield.

That was a convenient thing to say, how do they get there

Yeah the wall of fame is more than just statisitcs. Freddie was true Blue and was a ray of sunshine for Bills fans when we needed it the most... SO I vote yes

Fred had the stats one year too. Lead the League in total yards, running, receiving and returns.
