  1. Responses like these are why I often stop looking at these pages. Get real. Sherman could be a viable option with HC experience . Not sure I would go there unless Billick or someone else with experience wasn't available. Shanahan didn't want the job, if Cohwer doesn't want it, offer it to Billick. Billick won his Superbowl with Trent Dilfer, who will never be confused as a "great" QB. I would then go to Marty Shottenhiemer, Fassel, Martz, then maybe Sherman.

  2. I wrote this piece not to bash Ralph Wilson for giving us the Buffalo Bills. The fact remains that Ralph is 91 years old. Most companies are not run by 91 year old men. Ralph can and will do what he wants but he is watching his franchise become the joke of the NFL. Only the Detroit Lions have been a bigger failure if going to the playoffs even matter to anyone who responded negatively to this email. I have contributed alot in NY income tax, sales tax, Bills seats over the years. I have a right when my money was used to build this franchise to say what I feel. Ralph is no longer a viable NFL owner. ten years ago if Ralph called up coach's to come for a interview with no other job opennings they would have all come. Now even coordinators are turning us down. There are only 32 NFL coaching jobs, you don't turn down interviews for them unless something is really percieved wrong with that franchise. Fine, Ralph keep the damn franchise, run it to the ground. LA is waiting to move it when your gone with 1billion to show for it.

  3. I have always liked Ralph Wilson. He has kept his promise of keeping the Bills in Western NY. Business has always been tougher here then some of the top markets. The excuses have been Buffalo is a small market, nothing to do, too cold, too much snow, can't afford big ticket freeagents.

It has gotten much worse the past 10 years and now we have a bigger issue. No coach with any experience head coaching in the NFL that has been successful wants to coach the Buffalo Bills! Problem is everybody knows Ralph Wilson probably won't make it to the end of any contract signed. With no guarentees or information as to what happens to the Buffalo Bills franchise on Ralph's departure from mortality, we are left with a franchise in limbo!!!

Even as a fan, I find myself after 10 years of not really competing on a high level, pulling away alittle farther every year. I use to have season tickets for 12 years from 86 to 97. After I usually bought 1-2 games a year after I moved away. This year was the first time since 83' that I didn't go to at least 1 game. I actually stopped watching the Bills on Sunday till Jauron got fired. The point is if Bills fans are waving in support because of Ralph's status and control then how can we expect someone with credentials to buy into the Bills branding.

If Ralph doesn't change this culture by making some drastic changes in ownership for the future now, he stands to lose more support before the 2010 season even starts. This is a very critical year before the potential lockout. Ralph doesn't sound good when he is interviewed, very labored breathing. He may not be around if and when a lockout occurs, he may never see a NFL football game after this year again.

Please Ralph, find a way to put in trust this franchise. Leave family members and lawyers in charge receiving paychecks. Take a loan out for any taxes or bonuses owed. Eventually leave Buffalo Bills trust to the City of Buffalo and offer public stocks to keep franchise viable. Sell stock when cash is needed over monies coming in. There are ways to make this work for Your family, you and the fans of Buffalo.

  4. why not? if this guy was supposed to be such an explosive pass rusher, he needs to be a focal point, like Woodley and Harrison are for the Steelers. Shift the defense to 3-4, and make him the featured pass rusher. I'm just tired of drafting supposedly big-time players, but never figuring out how to use them.

This is why we need new pro-personnel people. Maybin was a bad pick. He had one good year with Penn state where he wasn't even the starter at the beginning. He had one game he rolled most of his 12 sacks into. There isn't enough proof that this guy deserved being picked 11th. Starting to look like another Eric flowers to me who was a 1 year wonder also. can you say BUST! Very poor judgement. Now you want to build a defense around this kid. Let the losing continue!!!!!!

  5. Just a thought. After last weeks hideous abomination at the "Razor Blade" last week, does Titans owner Bud Adams, clearly embarassed after the 59-0 "woodsheddin'" of his team last week at the hands of Brady and the Hoodie, and rightfully so, possibly force Jeff Fisher into shopping Kerry Collins before 4pm today?

If so, this would be the veteran QB the Bills should bring in, in my opinion. Collins lead the Titans to a 13-3 record and home field in the playoffs last year. Its inevitable VY will take over the reigns soon anyway. And for those who keep calling for Jeff Garcia, FAT CHANCE unless Buffalo shops T.O.. Remember back in their 'Niners days together, Owens openly questioned Garcia's (throat-clear) preference of sexuality.

I still clearly believe Buffalo's best chance for success is with Edwards under-center. Fitzpatrick is HORRIBLE! All those calling for him to be the starter are begging for disaster and obviously haven't watched him in Cincinnati or St. Louis in the past. Boy is pathetic! Although I'm not as much of a Edwards supporter as I have been in the past, trust me Bills fans, the REAL Bills fans who stick with this team through thick and thin, Fitz is NOT the answer!!! I say shop Roscoe & Lynch to Tennessee for Collins and a late draft pick. Thoughts???

Bad, bad idea. First off TO for Pez, get real!!! How old are you 16. I hope so because we don't need poor judgement again on our next Presidential election. The last 2 have been real winners.

Collins would get destroyed behind our O-line right now. I'd rather bring back a 46 year old Doug Flutie, I bet he still is in great shape.

Really we need to draft another QB with our top 10 pick next year unless Modrak is still here. Then we need another safety, CB or running back. Never enough good CB's right.

Get this straight right now, this is not a good football team. We are not going to the playoffs till Modrak, Guy and Jauron are shown the unemployment line.

Then we are in a rebuild mode hopefully, maybe, 2-3 years.

  6. Yes that would be nice. May I ask you this though: were Marv Levy, Tom Landry, Joe Gibbs, Tom Flores, guys of this nature already proven when they were hired? Buffalo's biggest problem right now in an offense with no identity. Defense is pretty good right now if we had the injured players able to suit up. Offensive players will never get better without proper direction. Because you always have to score to win, this is the direction Buffalo needs to go.

Our defense just gave up over 300 yards running. We were lucky to win that game because of the 6 interceptions. If the Bills keep giving up 200+ yards running week to week they will win maybe 2 more games all season. As far as getting a new coach, i'd pay for a proven playoff winner, Gruden, Cowher, Billick, Fassel are my vote.

  7. Does someone have to start this thread every week? Enough already of the same crap...

    Fred's better

    No, Marshawn's better.

No, give it to the hot hand.

We're lucky to have them both.

Yes, we should split the carries and keep them fresh.

    End of thread...

When has Lynch been in the top of the NFL stats for RB's. He has barely gotten 1000 yards each of his seasons. When Jackson replaced Lynch because of his indiscresions, Jackson finished 2nd in the league in all purpose yards and 4th in rushing. Lynch hasn't even been close in even his best 3 days in 2.2 years. Lynch would compliment Jackson better than the other way around. The argument that Jackson is 29 and Lynch 23 actually works the other way around, Jackson is in his prime now. Use him while his body is fresh and he gives you stats like the first 3 games. I will take the body of work by the running backs the 1st 3 games than what has happened the last 3 games. Even Thurman believes Jackson is better for this team right now. Get Real people!!!!

  8. I've been arguing the same since he returned last season, Dan. When a QB is not playing with confidence, THE most important aspect to the position, a coach needs to sit him down and let him see the game from a different perspective. There is no shame in that. For the player or coach. Yes, there is merit to letting a struggling player play through it but when that fails like it has with TE, then it's time for him to look at the game from a different viewpoint. It usually helps.

It can only improve the situation. But our coaches are clueless, it seems to me, when it comes to this issue. OK, they're clueless about lots of issues, but when it comes to the most important position on the field, they seem especially clueless. Inexcusable.

It's a shame TE was forced to be a spectator with a concussion. I'm not sure he comes back from this one. What a shame.

    GO BILLS!!!

Come to think about it, maybe Trent will finely be back from the last concusion from 2008. He was never right after that one. Maybe this will reverse it because he really can't get much worse. Hmmm, just a thought!!!

  9. Trent was throwing to his WRs before he got injured today and was 5/5 leading the Bills to a FG. Two completions to Evans and one to TO. No one seems to ever bring this stuff up, always the negative. FWIW there is not an NFL caliber starting QB on this team. Although, Trent is the best of the three. Do I want to see Trent here next year? only if he is backing up a proven veteran QB or filling in until a new rookie QB is ready to play. Trent was playing well before his injury, that's all I'm saying. Fitz did nothing to make me see any different.

I'm not a Trent ballwasher, just a realist and I know Fitz will not lead this team or any other team anywhere in the NFL. Look how he did last year with Chad and TJ as his WRs. He was horrible there too. As for Hamdan, there is a reason he is always on the sidelines.

Trent misses passes down field, over throws too many, no touch. Trent doesn't even know what a slant pattern is. Trent throws more balls inside 10 yards than any QB in the NFL starting. Outside of the first 2 games, Trent even sucks at that. His cadence seems to cause issues with the O-line. This week under Fitz, the line performed well, C+. The game was won by the Bills controling time of possesion. The only thing I will give Trent the benefit of doubt on is he ran the No Huddle, No Movement offensive game plans. Fitz deserves another start, can't hurt!!!

  10. Trent's stats are deceiving, 5-5 43 yds. What play did he make that you remember? Captain Checkdown no longer sees the field. Fitz came in with little 1st team practice if any and finds the WR's at a better rate. I don't care what Fitz's stats were, I know my eye's on that day seen a much more capable QB at this stage anyway. Trent's long ball lately has been well over thrown, he is not seeing the field like he should. Bills want a chance next week they will start Ryan!

  11. Can anyone imagine Dick as a politician? Trying to get people to vote for him? This guy doesn't get excited about ANYTHING! Did anyone see how he looked after Lindell made the field goal? I don't even think Dick was awake.

DJ reminds me of Ron Paul, bland, moni-toned, just no life. If they said something interesting we would all miss it being fast asleep!

  12. I agree, this should be the line of the future. They are all young and can play together for 4-5 years. Replace talent with high picks in the future if needed. We need a QB with our next 1st round pick. Suppose to be a great QB draft for 2010.

  13. The fact that Parrish was declared inactive in yesterday's game spoke volumes. With James Hardy scheduled to return to practice on Wednesday, Parrish is the odd man out.

Now Steve Johnson will get an opportunity.

Steve Johnson is Reed's replacement. Hardy coming back will only assure Johnson sits on the bench. I hope either TO or Reed are sent out of here. We need Hardy and Johnson playing to see what we have for next year. We are not gong to win more than 4-5 more games if that anyway.

  14.

Give me a break! People, worthy news comes from worthy news sources. Nothing is happening till we are closer to the bye week if it happens at all. There is not a interm coach on the Bills roster, Cottrell could have done it but Fewell, Pelt, April, Krugher, etc.. are lucky they still have jobs. Wilson will fire Modrak, Guy, Jauron, Fewell and hire a new pro-personnel/coach for next year. Braddon is home grown and is going nowwhere. Stop the stupid rumors!!!
