https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/daquan-jones/8747 do you mean 33rd? Out of 160. Pretty pretty pretty good
-
This was nice. I can confirm now. He is in fact on the team All jokes aside. Tua got those balls out quick
-
Is this good? It’s not how you start but how you finish I guess https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/tj-sanders/146925 and for comparison. Ed is a 92! 1st (small sample size obviously). DQ is respectable 70. Walker 48
-
joe says interior DL had a rough night. DQ was ok.
-
Yea I wasn’t coming down on you. But the pressures stat , for me, has to result in tangible outcomes - pressure downs get off the field. I’m not sure all “pressures” as a stat are created equal
-
3rd and 4th down d horrible. And they had a lot of 3rd and longs / obvious passing situations. And still can’t bring down tua.
-
Right. So has hawes and Walker. Sanders getting even more playing time (I think) w Ed out for 2 games. And just haven’t noticed him. At all. Somewhat concerning for a 2nd round pick no?
-
Yea but I think once Ed and Larry O back. I’m betting sanders is a healthy scratch to join Landon.
-
Im pretty confident saying sucking because. Aside from bosa and ed and their forced fumbles And Bernard getting an INT (needs turnovers). They can’t stop the run consistently, up the middle, misdirection, outside. All of it. They’re poor tacklers. They lack overall team speed. Pass rush / sacks are few and far between. Our blitzes are just awful. It’s still safeties and taron blitzing late and from deep. Last night against the worst OL in the league. They had zero sacks. Tua had 1 or 2 long run scrambles for first downs.( yes tua). Can’t guard the flats still. And 3 rd down d. Really bad defensive conversion on 3rd and 4th last night. Vs the dolphins. It looked and felt most of the time like watching Mahommes and chiefs games ending our playoffs

That was a championship level play by Bernard

Yea … I just see every game. Bernard has to constantly scream / yell and motion w his arms almost EVeRy play. Is this defense SUPER complicated? Then I heard his interview and his voice was so hoarse. I think the D is too complicated and it’s messing up Cole bishops development -
I know Walker and hawes are ! And we’re still wondering about Groot. But figured with how much capital we used to acquire him w the 9th pick in the 2nd round. And very little to show thus far. Hopefully people smarter than I can tell me he’s going to be good. This year. To try and win a Super Bowl. No. 41: Chicago → Buffalo (D). Chicago traded second-, third- and seventh-round selections (41st, 72nd and 240th overall) to Buffalo in exchange for two second-round selections and a fourth-round selection (56th, 62nd and 109th overall

This x a million. Were are like this bc their D sucks. And will suck a lot vs good offenses in the playoffs. And we’re not gonna get it done w small ball conservative. If our defense was top 5-10 I wouldn’t be crushing on the offensive scheme and lack of structured passing game. This is the perfect offense for a good defensive team. we will need to win w quick strike / structured passes to wr on traditional routes - at least show the ability from time to time within a game . Not just scrambling and improv all the time.

Well. It’s hawes. And while that’s nice and I really like him. It’s yet another referendum on mcbeane drafting. Once again in our Super Bowl window. When we universally think the defense is the problem in big games - we load up on D 1) Hairston- hurt. Of course. Jury out 2) tj sanders. VERY underwhelmed. Does he even have a tackle for loss? Or A tackle? He’s flirting with being inactive I bet once suspension guys come back 3) Landon Jackson. Very alarming he can’t even dress. He looked like a practice squad or fringe roster player to me during preseason against 3s 4) Walker. Hit so far 5) hawes. Really big hit Hancock hurt and isn’t dressing yet (I really need to see him displace Rapp at the end of the year. I’m praying) strong - I’ll say a hit - held his own as a backup filling in for injured starter don’t care about the rest. If our 2nd and 3rd round picks (didn’t we move up for the 2? ) can’t even dress! That’s a problem
-
Yup. He’s never going to be an instant win DE. Or splash dynamic pass rusher. They paid him a mid contract bc he’s a piece of THIS defense that mcbabich want to run - hold the edge. Stop run. Collapse pocket
-
Well. On the flip side: this offense you enjoy doesn’t get it done against the chiefs in crunch time. While the eagles and Cincys of years past beats the chiefs. I care more about crunch time. They need to use these regular season games to not turtle to the easy safe plan 100% of the time. 11 of 12 quarters this year.

Fair

Which leads to the other point of this discussion. By running the offense like this. They’re sort of neutering / transforming Josh Allen into a scared game manager. I don’t care about deep shots. We can’t run 8-15 yard pass plays to wr with traditional routes ! THATS the problem

Why do they have Allen risk injury running that play? My god
