  1. As a long time fan, the 1988 season was one of the best to watch.

During The Super Bowl years it was Bills frenzy even without the internet.  I remember taking my kids to the local sledding hill on Sunday mornings to wear them out so I could enjoy the games while they napped.  The hill was covered in Red, White, & Blue parents doing the same, all wearing their Bills gear talking about the Bills.

These days, I see a lot more Bills signs and flags hanging from poles and in yards.  This is on par with the excitement generated with the exception that with today's team, the expectation and confidence is much much more.

  2. Watching the Chiefs Raiders game last night, you could see the Chiefs Off and Def adjusting as the game went on.  They definitely used the plays that worked, (Kelsey TDs) but they kept trying different plays/defenses to keep the raiders off balance.

Whatever "wrinkles" Dorsey has in mind, he needs to keep changing up throughout the game.  But then there is Allen, who can change up things on the fly.

Our defense is what needs to adapt as the game progresses.

I know we aren’t quite a quarter of the way (dang you game 17!) but I was thinking about all of the surprise players and teams around the league, both the good, the bad and the ugly. Here are some of mine:

Kyle Pitts - where did he disappear to?!

    Atlanta

Cowboys - somehow surprising still alive

Rust is a better QB than Dax

G-Men - Dabol has his boys finding a way

Amazing what competent play calling will do for a team.

Pete Werner - never knew the guy but he seems like a stud

    Don't know him

Bengals - just an average team?

They outplayed themselves last year and their O-line investment hasn't paid off yet

    Hurts - I didn’t see that coming

Once they named him the starter, it ended all the bull crap surrounding him

AFC West - were the Chiefs dominance really ever in doubt? Broncos and Raiders seem to be non factors

New coaches rarely do well with new teams.

    What are yours?

  4. We still have Knox and Morris, plus Gilliam and Cook.  Bring up Hodgins even if they run him as a decoy.  I think the bigger problem is on special teams, as in who will be running back kickoffs (at least once) and punts (many times.)  Hyde, Crowder, McKenzie were the punt returners.

We obviously throw the ball a lot and the Ravens are currently 26th in passing attempts.  Surprisingly they are 19th in rushing attempts.  Seems like they're a big play offense and not manufacturing long drives down the field.

I would guess we would have a similar strategy as the Rams game with getting the ball out quick...not throwing as much down the field.

    What do you guys think?

I wouldn't doubt that McDermott is on the practice field with a garden hose trying to simulate the rainy conditions on Sunday.

Geez man.  Heat doesn't vary to you I guess.  All hot is the same and feels the same.

You obviously feel that sitting in the shade and sitting in the sun....it's the exact same.

So you honestly believe in last years game, at 78 degrees by half time is equally as hot as this game.  Do you honestly believe that?

When the Buffalo Bills took on the Miami Dolphins in southern Florida this past Sunday, everyone quickly realized that the excessive heat was going to be a problem. One report stated that by 10:00 AM Eastern, it was already 120 degrees Fahrenheit on the field.

Wide receiver Stefon Diggs recently made an appearance on the Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz and he was asked about how the extreme temperatures affected him. “I have never been that tired in my life,” Diggs replied. “I had full body cramps after the game. Full body cramps! I’ve never experienced that in my life.”

Diggs also believes that Hard Rock Stadium is set up to make the opposing team uncomfortable. “The Miami side is under the shade. Our side is in the sun that, you know, turns those grapes into raisins,” he said with a little laugh.

I use to have a large maple tree in my back yard.  Back yard is south facing.  On hot 90+ deg days, there was a 15 degree difference between standing/working in the sun and standing under tree.

I agree the stadium design was deliberate to aid the dolphins and hurt the visiting teams.

To not allow shade tarps/tents or place the same shielding on the top of the stadium is a failing of the NFL.
