It was kind of expected. They have too many picks for positions. They'd be putting good players on the practice squad to be poached.

Personally, I think it's Mayfield, but they didn't want to give up this year's picks. The HC is certainly getting a warm seat and the GM might be there too. They need a good season so giving up next year's pick to keep your job is more palatable. ..or the complete opposite and they have a reprieve and preparing for a QB next offseason. I think that's much less likely though.

The value of QBs, Edge and CB on a rookie contract is so much higher than almost anywhere else.
