The only real needs are Safety 2 or 3, depth DT or Veteran Edge

IMO one of the top 3 WR’s would be worth it.

I wouldn’t mind staying at 28 and the moving up in the 2nd for another one as well either

I’d move up for Harrison, but not sure much difference between Nabers, Odenzu and Thomas to move up too high.

For those interested in trading up, here's some scenarios.  This is not to say that I want to Bills to make any of these moves.  Just putting information out there.

    Bills Picks - Value

    #28 - 660

    #60 - 300

    #128 - 44

    #133 - 39.5

    2025 #1 - 300

    2025 #2 132

    2025 #2 (Diggs) - 150?

These are the values of different tiers in the top 20 for this draft:

    5 - 1700

    10 - 1300

    15 - 1050

    20 - 850

So, for those who want a top 4 receiver, which are projected to go in the top 10-15, you'd be looking at:

    Top 10 - 1300 Value - #28, #60, #133, 2025 #1

    Top 15 - 1050 Value - #28, #60 or next year's 1st, and #2 next year from Diggs trade

For me, that's way to rich for my blood in such a deep draft class.  But, I also wouldn't be surprised if one of them fell beyond 10.

this is awesome, thanks.  I agree trading into top 10 is too much.  Top 15/20 may be the sweet spot to hit on a guy like Thomas.

Diggs was a great receiver for the Bills and it's no coincidence that Josh's career took off with his arrival.

It's disappointing to see so many Bills fans turn on diggs

screw diggs, seriously, he quit on the bills, good riddance loser.

I hold fast to the belief that nothing matters except Josh. He is the key to the team. I like shifting to a Patriots mold of wide receiver, guys who run precise routes who Brady didn’t have to force the ball to. No true number 1. Ideally your QB can drop back, read the defense and throw the ball to the open guy, and trust that those guys will be where they are supposed to be. That isn’t Gabe Davis. And Josh had some pressure on him to force the ball to Diggs. Those guys are now gone. This is a good shift.

Now this is obviously a downgrade in talent, but in the long run we may be better off. In my mind Dalton Kincaid should be the number 1 target ala Gronk with the Pats. 100% they need to draft two guys early imo.

It’s ok to be upset about losing Diggs. It is also ok to say good riddance. Both groups are right. They gave it 4 years and it didn’t work out. It’s also ok to get emotional about it, but that’s kind of a waste of time. Now everyone gets to see what Diggs would like in the Shanahan style offense. Houston will be good as long as Stroud doesn’t feel forced to feed Diggs. He’s basically the number 3 there.

Finally, in terms of compensation, obviously it isn’t good. But the market dictates that and it just kind of is what it is. We don’t know exactly what was going on behind closed doors, but for Beane to eat 30 million of dead cap, one must assume it was at the point of no return.

It’s a new beginning and as long as we have Josh, we have a chance.

Agree with Josh we have a chance, but we need a number 1–the last 2 postseasons showed that.  Josh is not on the same planet as Brady in terms of reading defenses (most qb are not). Hopefully we draft one of the big 4 and get another good vet.

Draft two guys early and then with Diggs, pretty much, off the books next year and 10M freed up on 6/1.. maybe we have another Hopkins-type watch this Summer.

hopefully this one does not end up with us signing a DL instead of a WR

Football wise...I am EXCITED about the roles of Shakir and Kincaid expanding.  Management wise, I am puzzled why we didn't do this after June 1st and lessen the cap burden given we didn't get back any draft capital in this draft.

I am actually not that concerned about the offense, I think we will still be an elite offense, I mean we were last year and went 6-1 with our WR1 and WR2 producing very little in that time last year.

I just don't understand the timing if we didn't get a pick in this draft.

agreed.  totally ridiculous to get nothing in this draft and have it cost more cap wise, thus limiting our FA acquisition ability.

Curtis Samuel is our #1 WR right now. Beane definitely has something up his sleeve wether it’s drafting back to back WR this year, trading for Higgins/Aiyuk or trading up for Harrison/Odunze/Nabors, something will get done since Beane at least up until now hasn’t done things on the fly for no reasoning.

something has to get done, and it should be one of the WRs in the draft you mentioned (I'd even add Thomas) coupled with a FA you noted or drafting 2 WRs (but that's hard with the trade up).  Or, draft Odunze and Polk perhaps, who knows.

  8. this ONLY makes sense if we are trading up for Harrison, Odueb (sp), or Nabers.  Not even Thomas may warrant this, but if we don't land one of those 4 from the draft this is an utter failure, and Josh should be asking for a trade next.

  9. today's PFF:   I like this draft.  I really like the WR in Rd. 1 and 2 idea.  Here, we have two potential stud X receivers.  Burton may be a headcase, so that will depend.  The backup WR here would be Million from Washington, who appears more of a slot.  I like Hadden, the CB from Tenn, as PFF gives him a 90 zone coverage grade.  Allen upgrades the RB room, Travis is a great backup project who can be traded for a higher round pick perhaps, Zinter goes higher if not hurt, and the edges posses some rotation potental.

I've been mocking a bit now, and today I stumbled on a player that is jumping off the page for me in round 4, or therabouts.

Listed in some places as a safety, and in others as a linebacker.

I'm talking about 6'5" James Williams.  As far as I can tell, he played Safety mostly in Florida.

I agree he won't be a Bill. But this thread isn't about being a Bill. It is about sleepers.

Equally I don't think he is a first round talent. I think he is a second round talent who will go later on the basis of off field and inconsistency.

we would be crazy to skip him and let a team like Kc grab him.  Pickens was supposed to be “a lot” and he has been great on Pgh. Burton may need a better environment?  Wosh he was at Sr bowl, seems like a missed chance for scouts.

Suicide for some is best solution when life backs you into corner with no way out but the government criminalizes it and part of it is financial (IRS has specific statures).   Death penalty still exists for some crimes but it is a crime to decide to take your own life.

I have had some friends who have taken their own life and in most cases I understood.  One was in car accident from a hit and run which put her in bed for rest of her life with tubes supplying all nutrition since much of her digestive system was ruined.  Driver was never penalized. She played online gaming for a while but discovered half a life is sometimes is no life and committed suicide.  She had a number of in-game friends who were sad but owner/chief moderator of game told it was a bull story where her sister who was given her login/password tried to selling her items to donate to a charity which helped her.

Suicide is not always sign of mental illness but mental clarity.

Suicide, while sometimes understandable, is never a sign of mental clarity.  While the friend you described was in a horrible situation, it seems she had friends and was adjusting until a bullying incident.  Also, the majorities of suicide are due to mental illness—or a misguided feeling that the person committing suicide will never be able to adopt to some (sometimes awful) life change.  There is always hope and those considering suicide should get professional help, always.

They weren't counting on needing it.  That miss on Basham really screwed up the depth.  They'd likely have a mid round developmental guy or two on the roster from the last few drafts if not for that.

miss on Basham when they should have taken Humphrey.  Drafting for need over BPA there.

So was his Buffalo Bills tickets. I would take Ralph Wilson back as Bills owner any time over the clown show the Bills have become now with PSL’s and not winning the big games in the playoffs anymore. At least cheap Raph Wilson won two AFL championships in year 4 and 5 of his ownership and got the Bills to 4 Super Bowl games at reasonable working class ticket prices this Western New York area could afford. Plus he donated a lot of money to Buffalo after his passing so there was decency with Ralph Wilson that fought the Jerry Jones. Now Terry Pegula has hitched the Bills wagon to Legends Jerry Jones who is a snake. Ralph Wilson’s would never have done that because Ralph Wilson had decency and realized this Western New York areas limitations. I ask how much is enough Terry Pegula? I miss both Ralph Wilson and the Knox Brothers they had decency as Buffalo team owners and far more successful and don’t forget tickets were cheaper in my opinion. Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo

Terrible comparison pitting one against another.  And it’s called inflation—tickets get more expensive.  Enables better players via FA.  Perhaps you don’t like winning?  Terry also is involved with charitable endeavors. Owning a team is about winning,  both attempted that.

Come on Jersey.  Have you watched either guy play the past couple seasons?   Fields will get swallowed up by the AFC North.  And Wilson has fallen off a cliff the past few years.  If say Washington or the Giants had made these moves everyone would be saying they are a 5 win team at best.  Because it’s Pittsburgh, and King Tomlin it has to be the bomb.  Everyone seems to revere Tomlin.  But McDermott gets all sorts of flack on here, when he has been a much better coach of a much better team over the past 7 years.

oh, Tomlin gets flack in Pgh as he should. those zone D’a against Brady with the “killer B’s” offense were inexcusable.

ESPNs latest 7 round mock draft has 16 Wolverines being selected this braking the previous record of the Joe Burrow LSU team and I admit there is some guys here who’d I love in Buffalo to add especially some of those day 3 guys

1st Round: JJ McCarthy to Denver

2nd Round: WR Roman Wilson, DB Mikey Sanristill, and DT Kris Jenkins

3rd Round: LB Junior Colson and OL Zach Zinter

    4th Round: RB Blake Corum

6th Round: DL Braedon McGregor, OLDrake Nugent, OL Trevor Keegan, LB Michael Barrett, WR Cornelius Johnson , LB Jalen Harrell, and Trent Jones OL

7th Round: OL Ladarius Henderson and TE KJ Barner

I do not watch Michigan a lot, but Nugent could be our center pick if he lasts that long.  Also like LB Barrett, and  WR Johnson.

    4 hours ago, GunnerBill said:

That LSU team had studs though - Burrow, Jefferson, Delpit even CEH and Chaisson who haven't panned out. That Michigan list reads like a lot of depth players to me.

agreed, but that is their floor, IMO— good late round guys who will stick around awhile.

Im not against it, I am all for taking talent at 28.  I am skeptical he reaches 28 though and it will depend on who is on the board at 28, especially at WR and DL.

Agreed.  I’d take Powers over WR 6 and over any DL likely to be there except the DT from Illinois. Then trade up in 2 for WR Polk or Legette.
