    Trying to make the drive (or flight) in from St Louis. How are things looking out there? Consider me an amateur but at least somewhat capable for driving in bad conditions

    Get to the Akron / Cleveland area. Then get up and complete the drive in the morning. The main roads should be well cleared by then. Be safe.

    Dallass game was a team exploiting a severe weakness in their defense.   There will not be such a weakness in Steelers defense.

    Stillers Defense is ranked 21st in yards allowed. I think they can be had.

    Cleveland fans think it is a foregone conclusion they will win.

    Flacco has 8 INT in 5 games.

    Stroud has 5 INT in 15 games.

    Cleveland D is for real and already has a win at Baltimore.

    Hoping Texans beat the Browns so I can listen to their fans lamenting life. The Flacco hype is so ridiculous.

    I think your wish is about to come true.

    But I’m with you, the Browns organization deserves whatever ill comes their way. And it makes it even juicier that the Texans are doing the stomping. 🤪

    Snow showers likely, mainly between 7am and 10am, then snow after 10am. The snow could be heavy at times. Areas of blowing snow after 7am. High near 23. Breezy, with a west wind 26 to 29 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 5 to 9 inches possible.

    Thanks, Nuccie. That is better than some of the ominous scenarios I've read in this thread. I hope it holds.

  5. Well, from a neutral perspective, Josh Allen (for the good and the bad) is the most entertaining player in the NFL. Sure, given a choice, the league wants him to go as deep as he can into the playoffs. But do they rig or favor things? I can't bring myself to believe that.

    As long as humans are making the calls on the field, there will be errors. The hope is they fall your way more often than not, or at just the right time.

    I agree.  I hope that WR is our pick rd 1 but it really depends on how the board falls.  If a stud DL is there, I suspect he’ll be our pick and then we will trade up in rd 2 to get a WR.  Beane has no problems trading up for his guy and it’s a deep WR class.  We might be able to double dip in rd 2 and 5 and still get 2 good playmakers while adding a cornerstone pass rusher.  And let this board erupt with fury

    This. I think we still go the best player available, with a few exceptions: QB, LB, TE

    There is no reason to be in Nickel base defence in this game. Against Mason Rudolph in the wind and snow they will not be passing the ball. They are going to run and run over and over. I feel like it will take McD having a couple TD’s scored against him to get out of Nickel and hope it’s not too late when points will be at a premium. It’s the only way Pit can win.

    Go heavy and stop the run for the win. Also absolutely no need for Von Miller out there. Use Shaq and Kingsley and secure the edges go big.

    You better hustle over the Coach's meeting before they close the offices for today. It's Friday afternoon, hustle.

     They do have a point with the last one, but it's harder than it sounds. A big reason why those numbers are there are because our pass D is so good.PC is high but yards allowed is middle of the pack.

    Yeah, you can run on the Bills. But are you prepared to settle for field goals and that one tackle for loss can soon your drive?

    I bet Joseph is activated again for this game. Sit Von. He isn't good against the run and makes little difference in the pass rush these days.

  9. Thank you, Shaw—a fun read, as always. And I agree with you and Chris C, it did have a playoff feel. The game had playoff intensity and drama. Adding to that, the Bills Mafia showed up to neutralize the stadium. It is a fitting, dramatic ending to a very dramatic regular season.

    And now, it's on to the real playoffs, and as the great Marv Levy once reminded us, it is time to "fight on" . . .

          "Fight on, my men," says Sir Andrew Barton,
          "I am hurt, but I am not slain;
          I'll lay me down and bleed a while,
          And then I'll rise and fight again.

         "Fight on my men," says Sir Andrew Barton,
         "These English dogs they bite so low;
         Fight on for Scotland and Saint Andrew
         Till you hear my whistle blow!"

  10. You know what we've all been told about "ASSuming," right?  => You make an A$$ of U and ME.

    How about we ASSume nothing and focus on the dreaded Steelers?

    Or, as Patsy Cline once sang, "One Day at a Time, Sweet Jesus," yes, please, one day (one game) at a time, Bills fans, one game at a time!
