1. I really dislike Broderick Bunkley at #8, I'm not comfortable with a guy who soars up the draft boards AFTER the season is done, based on being a workout warrior.  Too many teams have been burned by players like that.

Mike Malula ring a bell.. (not sure of spelling).

And for those who said Bunkley was first round talent at seasons end , I beg to differ. I made copies at work on 12/17/05 of eight draft services (for what it's worth) and one had him 19... the next highest was 28 and the average was 33.7.

I'm not too interested in reps of 225 lbs. since the weights are not a target with a football in its hand and a desire NOT to be lifted. I believe we had a great weightlifter from UTEP who, unfortunately, wasn't much of a football player.

  2. I don't like the sound of that.  Pick 8 is too high to select a project.  But what the hell this is all guess work anyway.

Bunkley is Erik Flowers reincarnate. I don't like it when players move from the middle of the second round to the ...8th pick in the first round ----> After the season is over. If we grab someone who, based on FOOTBALL talent, should be picked no earlier than between 20th and 40th, I'm gonna be bummin' out on 4-29-06.

  3. I agree with everything except about Moulds. Thats fine, he gave us 7 years of his life, and he played well during those 7 years and got paid extremly well. The problem is, if the rumors are true and he has a deal with the Texans, he is only proving he is all about the money.

I have another bit of shocking news.... There is no Easter Bunny !!

  4. In a draft this deep a second rounder could pay off very nicely. Hopefully, Marv would use it on Sinorice Moss. He's an undersized, fast WR that has return skills, and that's what the Bills are missing.

I agree 100 % with SACTO. If not Moss, how about a defensive lineman with a high motor. Or, a guy who may not be starting material but is a special teams demon.

  5. Looking at depth chart, IMO the most glaring weaknesses are LT,LG,SS, and RDT... possibly even in that order. I would not be disappointed if we took two Offensive Linemen in rounds 1 and 2.. provided the quality is there, of course. The depth the Bills have behind Gandy and Anderson/Preston is scary

Willis having holes to go through and the offensive having the ability to run for a first down (what a concept) will go along way to making our DEFENSE look a whole lot better. Thanks

  6. That's true.  Our job of scouring the internet for info on FA's and the Draft is vitally more important than trying to predict how we will do with our 16 game schedule.  We must first get our team together and then our most important game is sept 10.  One game at a time, TBD.  Lets not get ahead of ourselves or we could overlook a few teams.

I could be badly mistaken but I don't think guys and gals being over confident about their teams chances,on the computer, in March will have much effect on the psyche of the team come September. Don't mean to downplay those of you who Really think you really have a say in the goings on of the Buffalo Bills.

  7. Why are you qualifying by saying outside of the AFC East? You do realize there's a distinct possibility that the Bills could end up with a top 3 pick next year, don't you? It's also very likely we finish at the bottom of the division.

    644154

Well let's not blow that top three pick like we did this past year against Cincinnati by beating them ! I'm wearing the jersey of all our opponents this season on game day in hopes that we don't get stupid and try to win games in 2006 !!

  8. I understand Moulds going to the Eagles being a good situation for everyone involved.

Having said that, how is Moulds going to the Texans a good thing for everyone? Yes the Bills could get a high draft pick, and the Texans could be looking at an offense that includes David Carr, Andre Johnson, Eric Moulds, & Reggie Bush.

But let's face it, are the Texans going to give Moulds the best opportunity of winning a championship?

Especially when the Texans are in the same division as the Colts & Jaguars?

Of all the teams out there that Moulds could play for, Houston was not one of the teams I saw him possibly playing for.

    644120

Well Mark, I think it is simply about the money for Moulds if , he indeed, makes a deal with them. I wish we could keep him as I am not impressed with anything beyond L. Evans but the in the economic world of the NFL it's inevitable that we lose our players before we want to. I don't like it one bit.

  9. We need another depth DT.  And they are going fast.  Dalton is now gone reuping with KC.  I like Pope-but has Ron Edwards had any visits and was he offered a contract and elected to test or did Marv not want him.  We need depth there.

    641765

I think our "depth" may come in the draft or in undrafted free agents. I don't think this (POPE) would be money well spent IMHO. Thanks

  10. I agree with you on Bunkley, I'm terrified the Bills will blow it and draft this guy at #8.  However, I'm not a big fan of Justice either...wasnt he suspended for an entire year in 2004?

    641477

Absolutely and it could be true about a leopard not changing its spots. But was able to see all but 2 USC games this year and W. Justice was very good at blowing open holes and holding blocks until the whistle blew.He is very athletic and would immediately be one of the top two or three linemen on the roster. Background checks... Would hope a thorough background check would be done however. Thanks.

  11. what if i say , we need to draft V. Davis because he will be the best player available at our spot on draft day...?

    641459

That would be great. My concern is that we simply won't take the best player available in the first round. John Fina... Erik Flowers.... Jeff Burris.. different levels of success but taken way ahead of where they should have been. Will be holding my beath that we here either V. Davis, D. Ferguson, M. Williams, A.J. Hawk or W. Justice among others with the 8th pick in the first round. Just not the 20th best player with the 8th pick. Please Mr. Octogenerians don't Bunkley this pick !!

  12. Apparently you haven't recently perused our interior DLine Depth chart.

    641392

Aw c'mon. Haven't you heard Brodrick Bunkley just read Erik Flowers book "How I Buffaloed the Bills". I can see him in September getting knocked on his !@# and lifting the blocker 44 times from the backside position after the runningback has gone by. It's gonna be a great year !!

  13. Uh lets see he had 44 reps of 225, he is a chiseled 300lbs, not a lump of fat and he is perfect for our scheme. Why chose a guy that is 350 and will balloon in the offseason.Bunkley all the way.

    639300

    Brodrick Bunkley = Eric Flowers.

Guys that move up in the draft in the off season and are undersized scare me. Eric Flowers moved ahead of Darren Howard that year... Workout Warriors.. ugh !!
