  1. I'm thinking the guy who calls for the McGahee run to the left on first down and leaves the fans hoping and praying that he gets back to the line of scrimmage might at least be spoken to in a harsh manner
  2. Now for an opposing point of view.... Anyone who watched the Tennesse game saw that it was lost because we have a pathetic group of DT's. If we could stop the other team on third downs we would have more drives starting at our own forty or better, rather than at our own 20 , or worse --> with our kick return team on the field. Tripplett is average, Anderson MUST be gone, McCargo an unknown, and Williams looks like the return of Mike Lodish. This does not inspire me. I really believe that there are teams in this league whose third/fourth DT is better than our best. One stud DT will bring our line UP to the grade of substandard. I hate the idea that we develop a good DL/OL just in time for Lee Evans, J.P., ETC. to bolt as free agents. I will agree that our ability to convert on 3rd down is deplorable (as is our O-Line) but the answer lies in getting big studs on both lines so THAT the line of scrimmage can be won. We pretty much rely on the 83 yard pass play for our "DRIVE".
  3. If we get one "stud" guy we will then be elevated to a "piss-poor defensive line"
  4. A five foot two safety is complaining about the size of a WR ??
  5. I think every position needs upgrading except the punter and the placekicker. We don't have anyone near the talent of Lee Evans and having another stud would make the offense very formidable. That being said, DT must be addressed immediately with 2 or 3 guys not just one. Tripplett is a second tier guy, McCargo an unknown, Anderson a sloth and Williams does not look like starting material (if the goal is to be more than mediocre). MLB and CB must be addressed if we lose our starters (DUH !!) but to be satisfied with these receivers would be unfortunate for those making personel decisions.
  6. My 2 cents. The best uniforms were the middle 70's with the ROAD royal blue pants and the white charging Buffalo helmets and the Home uni's with the Royal Blue Jerseys and white pants. Bring back J.D. Hill, Robert James and Joe Ferguson.... God I am getting old (46)but I loved those uniforms
  7. QB- Jim Kelly, Joe Ferguson, Jack Kemp. HB- O.J. Simpson, Thurman Thomas, Joe Cribbs. FB- Jim Braxton WR- Andre Reed, Jerry Butler, Ahmad Rashad, J.D. Hill, Eric Moulds OL- Kent Hull, Howard Ballard, Joe Delameilure (sp), Wil Wolford, Reggie McKenzie TE- Pete Metzelaars, DE- Bruce Smith, Phil Hansen, Aaron Schobel, Leon Seals DT- Fred Smerlas, Jeff Wright, Tom Sestak (know he was great but was too small to remember him) LB- Jim Haslett, Cornelius Bennett, Daryl Talley, CB- Nate Odomes, Burch Byrd, Derrick Burroughs, Robert James S- Tony Greene, Jeff Nixon, Leonard Smith, Bill Simpson. P-Brian Moorman PK- Pete Gogalak, Steve Christie, John Leypoldt. HC- Lou Saban, Chuck Knox, Marv Levy. Forgot many that are probably better but this is my fav's off the top of my head.
  8. Pro Football : Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers. (Haven't changed since the middle 1960's. (Dislike: Raiders,Dolphins and Cowboys). College Football : Alabama and Oregon State. (Dislike: USC, Nebraska, Miami (Fla.), BYU. College Basketball: Anybody but UCLA. Major league baseball: Angels (season ticket holder since Nolan Ryan era), Cleveland Indians and Colorado Rockies -> kids favorite team. (Dislike INTENSELY the Yankees. Pro Basketball : There is only one team .. The Boston Celtics... sorry I'm old and remember my favorite player of all-time in any sport.. Bill Russell.
  9. "Correct again" ?? Weak attempt at seeking praise. Those are my "thoughts".
  10. I wonder how many players on those.. "other seven teams" even know about the record. Anybody wanting your team to lose so another teams fans will be bummed is .... well words can't describe how strange this concept is to me. This is one of the more lame topics I have had the misfortune to be a part of. Go Bills !!! -------> whether our chances are good or not !
  11. I think that Jason Peters and Terrence Pennington could be coached to do exactly the same (potentially). Peters is a very good athlete and Pennington has the size to stop the defensive ends just by a push; if they have quick slants like the Dolphins did. But this could take quite a different approach to moving the ball than we are(n't) doing right now.
  12. Dan Marino didn't get sacked much, even in his later years, and his line was not all that good(they couldn't run block for crap). But he had a quick drop and the offense was designed to take advantage of his arm. Losman has a better than average arm and with a different game plan maybe we could have more production. But what do I know? P.S. NO, I am not comparing Losman to Marino !! Just don't like the way we are utilizing our talent with the unimaginative predictable play-calling.
  13. Although, I agree with most everything you said, wouldn't we be in much better shape had we hired Marvin Lewis instead of Gregg Williams ? Or John Fox ? This in my opinion is the reason the Bills stay near the bottom... management decisions.
  14. He would have scored higher but he repeatedly misspelled believe, I believe.
  15. It is really not his fault. He is still depressed because he wanted so desperately to go to Miami (Fla.) instead of Tennessee. You know with an education from Miami... you can sell drugs from any street corner in the United States, no questions asked.
  16. IMO the truth is we just don't know how good the Bills are going to be. They are playing 4/5 rookies on defense and have a QB who, although not making many mistakes out there, doesn't yet inspire a lot of confidence in the future. He may pan out and I hope he does 'cuz he is a very good athlete. At times, he still reminds me of R.J.,( with a set of balls). I hope these guys all pan out but there is much uncertainty right now. Further, their two wins were against Miami (horrible) and Minnesota (impressive performance but one dropped pass from being 1-3). So, if thinking that the Bills are going to have a bad time with the Bears and a real bad time with the Colts makes me a bad fan, then whatever Dude! I don't see the correlation. I would love a victory Sunday but will be satisfied if they aren't embarrassed and Losman comes out alive !
  17. I get the impression you are denegrating a segment of our population that wishes to express their love in a different way than you (Assumption on my part). How politically incorrect. You're ICKY !! There, someone had to say it.
  18. I like Cowherds show because he has his focus on football even during the heart of the baseball season. He can be annoying though. The show I can't understand is Mike and Mike. The fluff and wasted time spent on stupid and/or uninteresting topics is amazing. Mike Golic is just a buffoon. Seeing him during the draft year after year just reinforces the idea that he is fed most of the opinions he presents. Do I really need his opinion on any subject other than football ? I pretty much listen for the updates every twenty minutes.
  19. My only concern is what draft guru (LOL!!!!) Mike Golic thinks about our "reach " for Whitner.
  20. Always been a big Reed and Wire fan. no matter what past posts may have led you to believe !!
