Between Burrow around 55, Chase in the high 20s, and Higgins in the low/mid 20s, they'd have $100M tied up between 3 players.

    The Modern NFL!

Burrow's cap hit is phased in, "Only" $29MM in 2024.  They have Chase locked up on his rookie contract for just under 10 mm for 2024, 5th yr option will be pricey in 2025.

If I were to have a hot take takeaway from this last game its that we need guys who can be explosive down the field threats.

You have a QB whose arm talent is feared around the league, give him someone who can be a threat to take the top off of defenses.  Not sure there is another Tyreek in the wings, but Josh def needs a deep threat.

The one Sherfield drop was obvious PI that wasn't called. His right arm was being pinned by the corner.

Agreed, and remarkably he still almost hauled it in.  Unusually for a Hochuli led crew they kept their flags in their pockets for the most part - good and bad.

Agreed and at least one has to have elite speed, and [hopefully] be able to catch the ball.  We are playing in a conference with Tyreek, Waddle, Chase, Higgins, etc.  Our QB arguably has the best arm in the league, but we don't have the weapons to use it to strike fear into DC's.

  5. Since Beane and McDermott began to control our drafts [2018] we have drafted 45 players. 21 are currently on our roster, 2 on IR, 15 on other teams rosters, and 7 are either street free agents or out of football.

Notable Bills draft choices on other teams rosters include:

    2018    6    187    Ray Ray McCloud - SF
    2018    1    16    Tremaine Edmunds - CHI
    2018    5    166    Wyatt Teller - CLE
    2018    3    96    Harrison Phillips - MIN
    2019    2    38    Cody Ford - CIN
    2019    3    74    Devin Singletary - HOU
    2020    3    86    Zack Moss - IND
    2020    6    207    Isaiah Hodgins - NYG

  6. Our defense against the Chiefs was down 4 game 1 starters - Tre White, Milano, Benford, and Bernard - who all played every defensive snap in the opening game.

They were replaced by Douglas, who was IMHO an upgrade, Klein who was a huge downgrade, the rest of the snaps were picked up by other folks who were roster depth on opening day, [Dane, Dodson].

Tough situation out of coaching control

I think what would be great for him is to hire a coach he knows...maybe has even worked with before in different capacities...maybe with some experience...perhaps even Carolina ties...

Hiring a coach under contract usually requires draft capital, Panthers have squat.

Wide Receiver, Safety, Defensive End. Take your pick, plenty of holes on the roster next year. 28 is late enough where you aren’t going to be landing a sure thing.

Check the last 10 years of the 28th pick. I’m not sure there is an impact player in the bunch. Actually, mostly busts.

    Myles Murphy Bengals 2023 1 28

    Devonte Wyatt Packers 2022 1 28

    Payton Turner Saints 2021 1 28

    Patrick Queen Ravens 2020 1 28

    Jerry Tillery Chargers 2019 1 28

    Terrell Edmunds Steelers 2018 1 28

    Taco Charlton Cowboys 2017 1 28

    Joshua Garnett 49ers 2016 1 28

    Laken Tomlinson Lions 2015 1 28

    Kelvin Benjamin Panthers 2014 1 28

    1. Allen

    2. Kincaid

    3. Milano

If Diggs was younger & less expensive, he'd be #2. Oliver is a strong option too, but I think Milano is basically the leader & QB of the defense when healthy.

Yeah, but is Milano going to be the same player? his injury was pretty serious.  I think that Schnowman is probably one of the top 3, and OT's seem to have a bit longer shelf life.

if there is not an injury issue that they have kept silent for weeks … he is gone … they can’t have him back next year

The injury is to his psyche, no coach, trainer or doctor can fix that.

Reality Check Answer: Everybody who’s here on the cheap with the exception of Josh Allen.

Been having that thought for a while, when you are paying a mega QB salary, the front office needs to go young and cheap at a lot of other positions, also don't think for what the Bills get, that we can spend the money on special teams like we've been doing.  Drafting becomes a priority, look at what Detroit and Green Bay have done through smart drafting.

Look this game is all on the front 4. They’ve got 10 D linemen today. They have to win for the defense.

Time for Von to earn some of that $$$$
