Douglas who will be 29 next season - may have a limited shelf life as a CB1. With his size and tackling, a move to safety may be in the cards. CB and WR's are becoming younger every year.

Burrow's cap hit is phased in, "Only" $29MM in 2024. They have Chase locked up on his rookie contract for just under 10 mm for 2024, 5th yr option will be pricey in 2025.

LaPorta probably deserved the TE spot, he posted mad numbers for a rookie TE. Not sure why they picked 2 RB's instead of 3 WR's or 2TE's. Passing league.

You have a QB whose arm talent is feared around the league, give him someone who can be a threat to take the top off of defenses. Not sure there is another Tyreek in the wings, but Josh def needs a deep threat.

Agreed, and remarkably he still almost hauled it in. Unusually for a Hochuli led crew they kept their flags in their pockets for the most part - good and bad.

Veteran UFAAgreed and at least one has to have elite speed, and [hopefully] be able to catch the ball. We are playing in a conference with Tyreek, Waddle, Chase, Higgins, etc. Our QB arguably has the best arm in the league, but we don't have the weapons to use it to strike fear into DC's.

Since Beane and McDermott began to control our drafts [2018] we have drafted 45 players. 21 are currently on our roster, 2 on IR, 15 on other teams rosters, and 7 are either street free agents or out of football.
Notable Bills draft choices on other teams rosters include:

Our defense against the Chiefs was down 4 game 1 starters - Tre White, Milano, Benford, and Bernard - who all played every defensive snap in the opening game.
They were replaced by Douglas, who was IMHO an upgrade, Klein who was a huge downgrade, the rest of the snaps were picked up by other folks who were roster depth on opening day, [Dane, Dodson].
Tough situation out of coaching control

Spotrac is suggesting Higgins will land a 4 year deal at $18 MM per. Mike Evans and Michael Pittman are the 2024 FA's with higher projected AAV. Boyd could be had for $8MM.

Hiring a coach under contract usually requires draft capital, Panthers have squat.

Houston went to the playoffs with a 22 year old quarterback throwing to 25 (Collins) and 24 (Dell) year old wideouts, all on rookie contracts, with Motor as the lead RB. Skill positions are increasingly biased towards the young and the fast.

Tackles don't grow on trees. Dawkins is a top 20 tackle and Brown not far behind. There are 8 of the top 20 tackles that are OLDER than Dawkins.
Cap issues will probably cause us to lose Brown once he is eligible for FA.

Check the last 10 years of the 28th pick. I’m not sure there is an impact player in the bunch. Actually, mostly busts.

If Diggs was younger & less expensive, he'd be #2. Oliver is a strong option too, but I think Milano is basically the leader & QB of the defense when healthy.
Yeah, but is Milano going to be the same player? his injury was pretty serious. I think that Schnowman is probably one of the top 3, and OT's seem to have a bit longer shelf life.

Been having that thought for a while, when you are paying a mega QB salary, the front office needs to go young and cheap at a lot of other positions, also don't think for what the Bills get, that we can spend the money on special teams like we've been doing. Drafting becomes a priority, look at what Detroit and Green Bay have done through smart drafting.

Hindsight is always 20/20. I think we gave up the draft choice for Jefferson in the Diggs deal. Who would you rather have now; Jefferson or Diggs.
