We'll see what's what in the playoffs.

I'm sure I've said crow worthy things about Bernard, but I'll also flag that during the red and blue scrimmage he popped to me when others were talking about Dodson. Player of the day out there...but that's the last we saw of him. I, too, got scared off by that. Thought kirksey was a lock to start. What an impressive performance by him so far, and he deserves a lot of love.

Two top teams meeting early in the season. One thing is for sure: we'll overreact whatever the result.

This thread obviously inspired Cook to start breaking tackles.
So who's gonna start the "can Gabe Davis ever get yards after a catch" thread?
I think we need to be patient. We gotta figure out the "can Gabe be a reliable receiver" first.

Last week's game featured a bunch of weird officiating decisions like this. The phantom tripping call on Kincaid, the missed fumble recovery, the call for defensive holding on a play where the RB ran directly into the pile, and so on. Each of those was NBD as an isolated one-off, but it felt like literally every contestable call went Washington's way for the entire freaking game.
That officiating crew is notoriously bad.

That drop from Davis was bad. He's got to make that catch. His play is almost bi-polar with great catches and easy drops.
Agreed. And I hate to pile on but his footwork on that missed TD...sure seemed like a lot of time to drag that foot instead of taking a large step (admittedly way easier to critique in slow mo than actually accomplish)

Three weeks in is still a really hard moment to draw durable conclusions. But I do think the 9ers look excellent. The dolphins are high flying but I'll be curious what they look like in week 12 etc.

I actually think the offense has improved from the peak of disjointedness last season. It's not all the way polished, but I thought the raiders game in particular was smooth. Yesterday left a lot of meat on the bone. I didn't like all the 2nd-and-long weak runs at the strength of their line at all. I wish Gabe was a better separator outside of long routes.

Really happy with the OLine. I'm looking forward to watching again. Last week, they gave a lot of help to Brown and the play designs were great (it wasnt as pretty when Brown was singled up with Crosby).
I'm really curious to see if Brown had a good game wrt his 1:1 matchups.

The penalties were terrible calls for the most part. What was it 10-2 for the Bills? Just plain awful
There might be some truth there, especially with the notoriety of the crew we had today.

I think I was more concerned with an earlier incompletion to diggs over the middle (in terms of an ill-advised Josh throw)

Defense wins this one. Offense was moving pretty well I thought. But undisciplined penalties and then the 4th down play call was unpleasant.

I think the D will hold Washington to 25 points or less. What worries me is the D line dominating the Bills O line, especially Brown. Yes, you can chip on that side, even keep Knox or fifth lineman in to help, but then you have seven players covering four receivers, with pressure coming up the middle and from the left, forcing short throws all day into rolled-up coverage. Basically the formula that helped the Bucs beat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Consider too that the Wash. D-line may be better than the Bucs was, and the Bills O-line worse than Chiefs O-line back then.
I still think the Bills prevail, simply because the Wash. linebackers and DBs aren't particularly strong, so YAC should be significant. And while Brown truly sucks in pass pro, he's an effective run blocker. So let Brown and Torrence cook for Cook, work in some play action off that. I'm also looking for a break-out game for Kincaid.
Bills 28-21
Yep. Great perspective on this one. I think the game comes down to the OLine vs DLine matchup and our willingness to pound the ball.

Is there a player more easy to root against than Watson? Tyreek is the other POS that I root against
Tyreek is in the running for sure.

Pro-John Adams newspapers and pro-Thomas Jefferson newspapers used to print lies about each other all the time when they were running for President. Dishonest media has been around longer than just for decades. Probably since media started. Humans haven't evolved all that much in some ways.....
Post-war drops in partisan animosity were (imo) likely tied to a new widespread medium (TV), limited outlets (3 news channels?), and stringent news regulation (FCC regs).
Then greenspan, cable news and the internet...woof. We're right back to the newspapers and rancor of the old days.
But I'm rambling lol. I hope this bears story is a nothingburger

The OLine and play design. Essentially, whomever can perform on the OLine and also cover for Spencer Brown.

Purdy somehow has 0 picks this year but I’ve seen him throw at least 10 bad passes that should be picked off. I can’t explain it. But with those weapons he only needs to throw it 3 yards and the YAC guys will do all the work. Meanwhile josh is having to be Superman every week. It’s annoying.
It's baffling. Even if the giants intercepted half of what they should have it would have been a brutal game in terms of turnovers from Purdy.

The chicken tender thing is too much for me. I can't get behind that sort of nonsense.

I’m starting to wonder why we’re only 6.5 pt favorites.
Will our offense kind of way to mitigate their strong DLine? That's the biggest question to me.

Long season and it's hard to say. Looks like we have real competition this year.
Buffalo or Miami.

That second tackle is particularly impressive, knifing through traffic like that.

I really liked Cook's game. I think the praise is a taaaaad strong but so be it. Hope he continues to show out.
I love Murray's running style and want to continue to see him EARLY in games.
