  1. Pass on him.... He's too slow to play OLB in a cover 2, 4-3 defense. He's a 3-4 hybrid outside backer/ part time DE The guy would be better off in Green Bay, New England, San Diego or some other 3-4 defense.
  2. He had 9 solo tackles against the Bills in 2008. I can not believe people still use the logic of "bad team = bad player". The guy can play...period. Fast, small, undersized...whatever! Watch him play more than one game and he's easy to like. The Patriots and Bears would love to have him...2 of the best defenses in football for the last 5-7 years! He's 27, disciplined, a team player, 100 plus tackles and has played in the Bucs cover 2 his whole career. Sign him...don't let him leave Buffalo without a contract.
  3. Some more insight on Pisa.... He would be a "great fit" for the Bears defense. He fits Lovie Smith's scheme very well. IT'S THE SAME DEFENSE BUFFALO RUNS. http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2009/05/fo...may_11_pis.html
  4. So what you're telling me is you have never seen this guy play?
  5. Here's a link for an authentic LYNCH jersey off of NFL.com. If you use the zoom, you can see the royal trim on the names. http://www.nflshop.com/product/index.jsp?p...rentPage=family
  6. Here's what drives me crazy about this.... The Rams tried to play a 220 pound athlete at strong side backer in a 4-3 defense. The guy is a natural weak side backer in a cover 2, 4-3 defense. So this guy busts his ass for the team, makes 135 total tackles (solo and assisted) in 2008 and then a statement comes out saying he can't play the run well. Garbage! Mitchell plays the strong side backer in Buffalo over the tight end. The Bills need a speedy weak side backer.....this is a perfect match. The guy is an undersized tackling machine. You need take the "defensive system" into account, which actually requires taking the time to do real research!
  7. The Royal Blue trim is missing on OWENS name. Other than that they look pretty good. I'm guessing that a size 54 actually fits like a 52? Most knock offs are undersized. I'm a jersey fanatic...I own 200 NFL jerseys and I'm ultra picky with quality and an authentic look.
  8. 3rd down is generally Nickel defense. You only need 2 LB's on the field.
  9. OK....so what? The fans are passionate and want the Bills to bring back royal blue. Since the Navy blue color scheme, the best season is 9-7. Navy has brought nothing but mediocrity at best. Royal blue connects generations of fans....from the pioneers of the 60's right on through to the 90's Superbowl teams.
  10. That was 2006 and 2007 on the IR. In 2008 he led the team in tackles and was healthy. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/foot...s.ap/index.html
  11. HE HAD A CONTRACT .....this isn't like Joe Blow working at Wegman's. 3 years left on the deal, he was a millionaire. You can't compare average working people to NFL linemen. If it were 1960, I'd be OK with comparing the two.
  12. He's a weak side LB'er. Fast, undersized and perfect for the Tampa cover 2 defense. He would finally replace the Angelo Crowell spot currently manned by Ellison.
  13. Don Banks is following through on the NFL playoff theory that 6 of the 12 teams turnover from year to year. AFC in - AFC out New England - Baltimore Houston - Miami Buffalo - Indianapolis http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writ...ex.html?eref=T1
  14. Walker and Butler are good players.....at RT and RG respectively. Jones has been a pure Left Tackle since high school.
  15. Casual fans are useless.....they probably skip some Bills games to golf or watch Nascar.
  16. No. I don't think so. Doesn't have the pass drop skills like Ellison for the cover 2. Major requirement for the OLB in this scheme. He's also coming off ACL surgery and won't be available for the start of OTA's http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1...3d-50fa27e5a1f3
  17. I was more or less referring to Guard play. Wood, Hantgartner and Butler/Levitre is a more athletic, nastier interior line than Dockery, Fowler, Butler. No one knows how Peters will play from now on...he just got 60 million and might eat himself out of the probowl. He was dominant in 2007, stunk in 2008 and in 2009 ???. It's a crap shoot for 10 mill a season.
  18. The NFL is recession proof. It has been proven time and again. You can buy a season ticket for $270 and you have all summer to pay for it. Unless the team is horrible....i.e..1984-85, tickets sales will always be safe in the WNY/Rochester/Niagara region.
  19. This is my guess as well. I think this would be the opening day lineup with Butler and Wood starting.
  20. I think I could have said this a little better. I agree with you about one of the strengths of the 90's K-gun being the O-Line. I think this 2009 version is the same style of O-Line as the 90's group. Smart, agile lineman, not 335 pound slugs like Derrick Dockery. As dominate as Peters was 2 years ago, he was out of shape and lazy in 2008. The supposed strength of the 2008 line was the left side....Peters and Dockery. Turns out the right side of Walker and Butler was the strength. I won't even mention the Center position......it was horrendous! I like the makeup of the '09 line better, even with the loss of Jason Peters.
  21. Any news about a hurry up offense or any offense that shows some urgency to score is fine by me. The hurry up protects the biggest perceived weakness on the Bills.....The O-Line. It requires smart, fit players who can adjust on the fly. I feel that is the strength of the Bills '09 O-Line. ....and selfishly, it's flat out exciting to watch!
  22. I would think the pre-draft feelers were from Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and probably the Lions? It's tough to dig up any info on this guy on the web. I sure hope the Bills look into this with some aggression. When healthy, the guy can play!
  23. I agree... The helmet "saves" the uniform for me as well. Now the white road jersey is beyond help.....the absolute worst white jersey in the NFL!
  24. The "Snapping Minuteman" on the old school Pats helmets is one of my favorites of all time. They sold out for silver helmets and Superbowls....PRICKS!
