6'3" 225 and runs a 4.3 40 yd dash. It's not DK Metcalf, he's Xavier Legette. WR/KR for Gamecocks. Not only can he be the "take the top off" type of WR, but also a "put the ball in his hands/RAC" type of guy the Bills have been coveting for years. I'm hoping he lasts until the Bills pick

Wouldn’t hate it, but I can see a player like Legette shooting up draft boards during the combine and off season processes because of his measurables.

From reading his scouting reports online it seems like he’s checks off a lot of boxes. He produced in college at a top conference, he has an insane athletic profile and he had a drops issue early on in his college career that has seemed to have gone away.

It seems like his flaws are that he isn’t a strong blocker, he has only had one year of amazing production at the college level, his production against better competition in college wasn’t the best and he also seems to be too comfortable in contested situations that he doesn’t always get the separation that he should get given his athleticism.

I wouldn’t hate picking him up in the late first or trading down into the early second round getting more picks (and then using those picks to trade higher into the middle of the second) and taking this kid to try to get Josh more weapons and Diggs an heir apparent.

  2. Every team is running on fumes for the most part. The issue could be alleviated in my opinion with a second bye week. Extend out the season another week and give each team two bye weeks.

Players in a 17 game season really need more than one single off week. If the bye comes too early teams are exhausted in the late season, if a bye is in the middle of the season teams get banged up early and still may be faded down the stretch and a late bye is not great as by the time the bye week comes up they may not get the rest they need in time.

Give players a bye from weeks 4-8 and then another bye from weeks 10-13 give these players in season time to heal.

  3. He’s a rookie who took some time to catch on but he’s been very good late in the season. Also an underrated part of his game is his blocking. He is a very strong blocker which should not go over looked.

  4. I think you gotta treat this as a playoff game if you are Miami. I think if you “lay down” the game you lose the locker room and make a tactical mistake. Go for the division title and the two seed as best as you can.

But it doesn’t matter as Josh is gonna be Superman with the season on the line!

von is done. He has played his last down as a bill.

He tore his ACL late into the year last season, I think he may have a chance to be a productive player in 2024 given that players often take until two seasons after an ACL to return to form or at least somewhat closer to their form.

Also the cap ramifications of cutting him in 2024 don’t add up, his 2025 dead cap is much more manageable at just 15 million which can be spread across two years.

I think the Bills know Von coming back this season at a good form was unlikely hence the Floyd signing. I hoped that maybe after the bye we could really know what he has but it’s been weeks since the bye and he looked a little better but still far off from where he needs to be.

Bottom line Kingsley Jonathan right now is a better player and better effort. Von needs to be inactive.

Genuinely asking, how has Kingsley looked? I didn’t see him much but I wasn’t keying in on him either.

Well I disagree in a way. Who are we to know that they didn’t want Kincaid all along?  You are assuming that they wanted a WR. They were chasing 12 personnel for a few years and finally got their guy in Kincaid. That’s my take anyways.

I think they were hoping Kincaid or one of the WR’s would fall. When all the WR’s got scooped up they pounced to get Kincaid

Disagree completely. Yeah…let’s wait until the end of the second when the run at the top of 2 wipes them all out. Great idea. Sorry…there should be a few that are worthy of our pick in 1. There will be teams that go defense or another offensive position in front of us that pushes someone down the board.

In the draft it’s always about context. The Bills in 2023 were just short of getting the “round 1” WR’s so they traded up a few spots to take the best TE.

If you can’t get a WR worthy of that selection trade down or address another need and trade up in round 2 to take another one. It’s all gonna depend on where you draft and whose available

Generally the draft is for the future and Free Agency (FA) is for the immediate concerns.

I'm hoping the FO ponies up for M Evans and then drafts a WR early for the future.

When you draft in the first 2 rounds you are looking to address needs in short order.

  8. I wouldn’t hate a “double dip” at WR assuming Gabe walks but I think with the emergence of Shakir its probably better to take a WR round 1 and then take a WR in the mid rounds. With Kincaid/Knox at TE you can be good with just taking one WR high up.

I think ideally you take a WR round 1 then address a defensive need in round 2 before going back on offense with the round 3 comp pick.

  9. After getting back AJE, Hyde, and Daquon the Bills are at full health on defense. The only players out on long term injury are Tre and Milano and Tre’s production has been replaced by Douglas.

I think the in season additions of Douglas and Joseph really helped turn around the unit. The team was having massive issues at pass coverage at the boundary and up the middle against the run. Douglas and Joseph alleviated those issues a lot.

This has been the best in season management in the McD era.

Bills won and Fish lost.  The two most important things today.  Yeah the Bills did not look good on offense today but they made enough plays and won.  The Patriots are actually pretty good on defense and division games are usually pretty tough.  So I'll take the win and hope Allen plays better against the Fish.

Also the Bills probably would have put up 3 more points on offense had they not run off the clock. But the Pats defense did their best to try to hold them in the game but the Bills offense did enough.

I can’t think of a team in the Josh Allen era that can consistently run an effective 4 minute offense. The Bills took over the ball with 5ish minutes left and the Pats had all their timeouts plus the two minute warning. And the Bills not only grounded down the clock to zero but also got in field goal range.

Nope.  Division games are hard.  Belichick is the all time best Defensive coordinator.

A few passes that looked rushed and were inaccurate, a few drops and u get a close game.

    A close game was expected.

The bills showed tons of toughness and mental toughness today.  This was a great win.

It wasn’t even that close of a game after the sloppy start the Bills had a two possession lead most of the way. And when they had to they made the plays they needed.

Another very ugly win, but they all count. Going into next week with the division and #2 seed on the line. But man, this offense is broken. Need to fix it and quick.

I didn’t think this one was that “ugly” they ran out the clock and after the bad start almost always had the lead they just didn’t shut the door when they had the chance into that last drive.

I feel he was ok in 2018 too but it became clear early on that he wasn’t going to be any kind of impact player.  The excuses stated for start then and continued throughout his tenure in Buffalo.  My guess is that he’s a pretty good human and leader.  The Bills didn’t want to make him look bad so we got “he does things that don’t show up on the stat sheet.”

The thing is that when he was out the run defense did generally speaking suffer but the run defense at times when he played also did get gashed up the middle too. He was so up and down in terms of plugging the run defense.

It’s one thing if he is just was an elite run stuffer whose stats were fairly low. We have seen Joseph not have eye popping stats but the Bills have been a lot harder to run up the middle on since he signed.

You can’t have very limited pass rush upside and be inconsistent in stuffing the run and be on a massive contract. I was so glad the team signed D Jones to replace him.

I believe a few days back, McD shut down and possibility of Milano returning this season.

Very very happy to see Daquan back.

McD didn’t outright say Milano was not coming back (I think his exact words were “doesn’t look good”) but yeah given that the average recovery time for players with the same injury who have surgery is 8 months it was always a long shot for Milano.

Banged up Bills had a good write up about it. Banged up Bills basically said that only 2 players who had the same surgery for the same injury came back before the 6 month mark (those players took about 10 weeks) but those were extreme outliers.

So it was always a long shot for Milano unfortunately

Rapp is better in run support. Hyde doesn't seem to want to "stick his head" in there, which is understandable.

I like a safety who plays better in coverage, I think while run support for a safety is valuable I think that run support is more so the job of the front 6-7 and slot corner. Whereas a lot of big plays in the passing game can be let up with poor coverage.

After seeing Star Lotulelei in action, it quickly became clear he is tied forBrandon Beane’s biggest FA bust along with Trent Murphy - also signed in 2018.  Star’s calling card was that he was a space eater that could occasionally flash as a pass rusher but he didn’t do that in Buffalo.    But you know who did?  Daquan Jones!

Jones is the player that Beane thought he was signing in Star.

Agreed, Star was supposed to be the big time anchor to the middle of the defense who could have some pass rush upside.

The only time Star really to me played up to his massive deal was in the back half of 2019. For whatever reason he played well the last 6-7 games of the regular season and the lone playoff game. The run defense was much improved and he was pushing the pocket a bit.

But Star opted out during the 2020 season and then came back to play in 2021 and was mediocre again.

  16. San Diego to LA is a three hour or so drive with some traffic. But it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get out of lots in and around SoFi stadium. So that’s likely 8 how’s hours worth of driving for a game if you live in San Diego.

99% of fans just aren’t doing that. So the Chargers pretty much lost their old fanbase (in terms of live attendance) and the market they moved to cares more about the Rams who have more history in the market and have been more successful on field. And even the Rams are still struggling a bit to gain traction.

They should have never left San Diego. I know San Diego wasn’t willing to build a new stadium but they probably could have worked out a deal with the city (similar to what Seattle did with their new hockey/basketball arena) where they could have stayed and gotten the renovations to the stadium they needed
