  1. Some thoughts:

Yeah it is only 52. But anyway, I don't think Mace makes this team. Especially considering you didn't include Kelsay or Ellis in your defensive ends. I think Ellis and Bryan are fighting for the last DE spot, and Kelsay definitely still makes the team. Also, I don't see them only keeping 3 defensive tackles. So by default, McCargo makes the team.

Despite the fact that Omon is running decent, given the fact that they've been lining up Mcintyre at running back and giving him some reps makes me think they might only keep Lynch, Jackson, Rhodes, and Mcintyre. Anyone else have opinions about that?

Parrish makes the team over someone like Huggins.

With Stupar stepping up I think it is a distinct possibility one of the Dereks doesn't make it.

The last safety spots will be a tough battle, as well as the last cornerback spots. I feel like we won't be able to keep some guys we might like.

    Thoughts anybody?

  2. So Notre Dame gets the bowl bid to Hawaii last year, even though they weren't that good (and yes I know they won the game, but Hawaii wasn't that great either)...and now they start the season in the Top 25?? What exactly happened between the end of last year and the start of this year to make them that much better?

  3. I just graduated from Syracuse in May, and went to every home football game the past four years. Brinkley was a really solid running back playing on a horrible team with no offensive line. He made a lot of plays on his own, and still had a decent number of yards and ypc. I hope he's alright, because I think he's definitely capable of making an NFL team, and I'd like to see what he can do in this league.

  4. Anybody remember the Tedy Bruschi "stroke comeback" game against the Bills? I remember they actually showed a stat numerous times on the screen that showed the number of plays that Bruschi was "involved in." Seriously, he didn't even need to do anything in a play. He could make no physical contact, and they would add a tally to the stat because he was obviously in the way and caused the runner to go the opposite direction. That was probably the most annoying broadcast I've ever seen.

For those of you who remember the Tedy Bruschi praise, here's a link to a WGR550 audio clip making fun at all the unnecessary praise.

  5. You sum it up pretty well. As an outsider looking in, he probably read an article somewhere stating Whitner has been moved to FS and Scott will man the SS spot and that the Bills will also be taking a strong look at Byrd for the FS spot as well. He must have assumed the loser of the FS battle will be relegated to the bench.

His assumption is wrong, obviously. Whitner will be moved back to SS. In the event that Byrd doesn't pan out or isn't quite ready to be a starter, then at least DW will have had some reps at FS before the season begins.

Very well said. I think that is exactly what happened.

  6. O.o Pizza Junction!

I havent had that in 15 years. I'm going to go there the day before the opener. Is it still open in North Tonawanda?

I love Teds Dogs, the Chocolate shakes are brilliant, but get the hot sauce to go too. I think its just ketchup, relish and cayenne though.

    B.

I live 5 minutes from Pizza Junction, and yes, it's still open and going strong. I also used to work for Ted's during High School....definitely the best dogs around. Great shakes too. Don't forget the homemade onion rings. As for the hot sauce, I've seen it being made, and there are a few more ingredients to it than what you mentioned, but those things are definitely included. It is a must on your dog.

As for choosing a pizza place or any other type of food, a lot of it is good, so you can't go wrong with any of the popular places.

  7. There's no way they cut Hardy after one season. Even if he seemed like he wasn't grasping the offense well, you just can't do that to a second round pick who showed a couple flashes of what could be. Also, I'd have to say it's probably more likely that at the start of the season the starting safeties will be Whitner and Scott. Back to the WR topic: The Bills aren't going to sign Harrison either just for the heck of it. I think they're satisfied with who they've got on the roster right now.

  8. How do people still ask this question... :worthy: Really, we are much better without the happy footed indecisive QB that no one even wants right now.

I think what /dev/null was saying was in response to the first post of the thread, since the poster suggests Maybin is more of a RDE (same as Schobel), and we already had a QB when we drafted Edwards, but it worked out in the long run since he is now our starting QB and Losman is gone. So I think /dev/null wasn't actually questioning the drafting of Edwards when we had JP, but he was making the point that drafting Maybin (who in your opinion is better suited as a RDE) may still have been a good move, just like it worked out drafting Edwards when we already had a QB.
