The Jets are not the better team even on paper even with the Bills' departures.  The Bills are slightly downgraded on paper, but we all know that what happens on paper is meaningless once the season starts.  The Bills improved in the second half of the season last year because of 6 1st and 2nd year players (Benford, Benard, Torrence, Cook, Shakir and Kincaid) plus the addition of Douglas in a trade.  Is there any reason to think that those kids won't continue to improve and help the team improve with them?

sure, they might.  That's not the topic.

Outside of O-line (assuming flat earther QB can play), the Jets are loaded.

Is any fanbase more in sync with their team? More emotionally wedded to their team? More anxious when the heart of the team maybe doesn't feel quite... in rhythm?

This may be hyperbole,  but I feel as if BB MD is using the body of Buffalo Bills Fandom as a gauge for the extent to which the heart of this team; players AND coaches,  can be resuscitated.  A lot of people here have said it,  not just me... I've never been more anguished; and more in grief over this team, than I was in January.  I had to completely unplug.  I'm sure the team sees it on social media, call in shows,  podcast streams,  etc. For many,  the extreme detachment this year was real.

I get it... the salary cap is real; but Beane did not have to be so hardcore about it...   Well,  like I began to say; Beane got out the AED machine... Assuming the TV shows are right,  the first shock is not the strongest.   You want to make sure you don't over shock the system. But... you do come in strong... make the ticking time and effort worth a try.  CLEAR!!!!!   (Poyer, Morse, Hyde) thump...  no reaction from the body.

CLEAR!!!!!   (Davis, Neal, Jackson,   Matakevitch, Von Miller paycut)   thump...   no reaction

CLEAR!!  (Tre White)  the body shifts a bit...  still not enough.

    CLEAR!!!  (Diggs trade!)

And at last... the body of the Buffalo Bills Fanbase is convulsing on the table: spitting,  trembling and groaning,  but the pulse is back people!  The will to fight together again... to live another day and struggle for survival and success. Put another way,... they've hooked me again,  lol

this couldn't be rolled into the Dalmar thread?

They made the playoffs last year but were not contenders. They overachieved. That experience made them see their deficiencies and they addressed them to make a run next season. I think they will be one of the top 4 in the AFC if Stroud doesn’t take a step back.

    Could be, yeah.

Stroud's no Josh Allen.  His main achievement as a QB last year was avoiding turnovers.  Otherwise, he put up Derek Carr numbers.  Jordan Love had a better year, yet few comment on it.

If I shared what I came across than I would only be feeding the rumor treadmill. The point is even if that is all bs it doesn’t matter. What matters is just knowing Beane and he’s not taking this laying down, he’s gonna come up with a big time shocker, just expect it.

taking what "laying down"?  his own action of trading a player/

    lol wtf?

    You know this how?

you think this was purely a personality conflict?

The guy tanked the majority of the season. Plus he's a head case.

The team felt his output wasn't worth the trouble

So he's gone due to performance, and all the sideline/off field/twitter stuff you mentioned really didnt matter? Which is it?

He fought for yards PLENTY of times. Any time it mattered. Close to getting a 1st down, or fighting through 5 tackles to break away for a TD like against Miami last year.

When you already have the 1st down and a Safety is bearing down on you, better to get down, control the contact, and live to fight another day.

see above.  his performance meant they no longer had to tolerate his attitude.

If he was still putting up huge numbers, they would swallow their pride and put up with him, knowing he has negligible trade value.

Who are they going to take at QB with 6? Caleb Williams is going 1. Some combination of Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, or J.J. McCarthy is going 2 and 3.

They'd either have to move up to 4 or 5 for the last of the 4. They'd have to beat out Minnesota, who has 2 1st's this year to do it. And if they can do that, then a.) they won't be at 6 to trade with and b.) Arizona or LA, who would also be expected to Draft one of the first two guys will.

And if they are of the mind that Penix and Nix are big time reaches at 6 (and they are) and are looking to move down to 28 with one of them in mind, there's not a guarantee the guy they'd want their would be available that low.

    Harrison is going to AZ.

Nah, I still wouldve taken a lot more Diggses...es on the 2020-2022 Bills. He was great while he was here, until he wasnt. All that stuff doesnt change that. He just didnt get along with the boss in the long run.

Ha! I think Dallas makes a lot more sense, but anything is possible.

he’s not gone because he didn’t get along with the boss….

  8. remember when then helmet throwing, the sideline berating of his QB, the pulling himself out of games ands the camp drama were all packaged under "hey he's just super competitive and everything!!--I'll take a team of Diggs's!!"

yeah, good times....a thousand posts just evaporated with his unceremonious exit.

That game in Houston should be interesting...

at what point do you figure Diggs pulls himself out of that game?

This - and it’s likely where he wanted to go. More and more agents are making an effort to direct their players to preferred destinations. Everyone knows how Diggs would act if he had been traded to any team that wasn’t a contender so his trade value was nil to those teams. I’m sure he had a very short list of acceptable teams and the Texans were the one that got the deal done.

Diggs just straight up played himself off a contender.  So I doubt that was a top item on his "where will they send me next" list...

You have to make it to the Chiefs in the playoffs to even get to that point.

There are more teams than just the Chiefs to worry about, something we should all understand from the 2022 Divisional Round game.

Would you be cool with Diggs going to the Bengals? No. And the Texans made it to the Division Round in just 1 year with Stroud, have a younger team, more talent, better cap situation, already had a number 1 WR, and now added Diggs.

So instead of acting like we already made it & our spot is assured next to the Chiefs, we have to contend with reality & recognize there are other teams improving faster & more dramatically than the Bills.

my opinion on Figgs is we’ll know . Honestly, who cares where he goes.  He was in the tank for most of the season—-despite a top 2 QB slinging the ball and a weak WR room.  E we hats he going to go for the Bengals, of all teams??

If Dell is healthy, Diggs is #3 in Houston.  How do you think he will handle that?  How long before he starts yelling at young Stroud?  Week 6, 7?

if the Bills can’t assemble a top 5 passing game with a top rookie WR this season then Beane, McD and Brady all have to go.

  11. who cares?

Texans put up numbers on The Cleveland Flaccos, then got roasted by the about to be fully exposed Baltimore MVP's.

every time any player moved from one team to an winning AFC rival, posters loose their stool.

worry about not falling apart to the Chiefs in the playoffs...

I really hope I'm wrong (and good news there, i've been doing a lot of that lately!) - I just don't see Arizona or the Giants passing on generational talents at a position of need for them.

Now more than ever, Thomas is in play. Especially with the added ammo from the Diggs trade. Maybe an outside chance that Odunze falls a couple picks and we're able to get to like 9 or 10 or something.

But when it comes to Harrison and Nabers, I just don't see them giving up not only them - but even guys like BTJ and possibly Mitchell as well, moving all the way to 28.

I think for this to happen, it would need to be like a Josh trade was. We'd need to move up to like the 10-15 range before the Draft and then move up again from there.

    who is their QB?

13 years of no playoffs (as soon as they get eliminated this season).  A record.  And if you watch NHL and pay attention, it is sickening how many ex sabres are doing well elsewhere.  How could they not stink.

Las Vegas went from nonexistent to 5 playoff appearances in 7 seasons, including 2 Stanley finals and a Cup win.

Sabres have been completely irrelevant since Golisano unloaded them.
