-The Bills should think about going after Jason Campbell. I'm being serious too. He is the best QB that will be available in free agency this offseason. He is still young enough to have a fraction of upside but experienced enough to be an immediate starter. I have no illusions that Campbell is the future of the Bills but he could be a decent stopgap. I know all about his struggles but he has looked better at times this season. He is also experienced at playing behind a terrible o-line, with terrible coaching, and terrible weapons. Sounds perfect! Bring in Campbell, a rookie, Edwards, Fitzy, and Brohm to compete at training camp. Before you say no, review the other options. Pennington's career is a ? -Terrell Owens hasn't lost a step, he isn't washed up, and he isn't dogging it on the field. When given the opportunity to showcase his abilities here, he has shown every bit of explosiveness he has always had. The guy is still a freak and rabid about his conditioning. In open space he is difficult to tackle and still breaks away from defenders with speed. Obviously his hands are suspect at times but that's nothing new. Our only elite player. He could have had a TO type season. -The Patsies won't win the AFC east next year. That defense is in a shambles. They can't get to the QB and the secondary is terrible. I have a strange feeling Randy Moss is not through being a distraction either. Couldn't happen to a better team. -The Philadelphia Eagles are going to the superbowl. Just calling my shot early! It's all about how you perform under pressure and Mcnabbs healthy. They are a team that plays to the level of their competition. It isn't a good trait but it works in the postseason. -I don't care if our next coach has a superbowl ring or not. It doesn't matter if he has NFL head coaching experience. I want a guy that has a PLAN and an attitude to go along with it. The team hasn't had a dominant leader in along time. From the outside looking in, I think alot of the personalities on this team would respond to a Singeltary type. The 49ers play with a fire in their belly. That is fun to watch and his attitude is reflected through them. -Let's hear your most random thoughts. I just admitted to wanting Campbell! Beat that

Tunnel vision? I agree with the point you continue to defend so vehemently. In fact, I doubt anyone has a different opinion on the matter. Take a second to review the thread and you might just find where you became confused. If it isn't a case of being confused, then it is a case of purposefully changing the debate. Which is more understanding because you didn't have a leg to stand on in the Flacco v.s. Edwards comparisons.
-
.....and you are still pointing out the obvious and irrelevant.
-
I agree. The kid is explosive and dynamic. That isn't a commodity that the Bills have a surplus of.
-
Flacco and TE aren't comparable players in terms of talent and that has nothing to do with supporting cast. Nobody has said it takes one player to make a winning team and that was NEVER the point. It's kind of ignorant to pretend there isn't obvious differences between Flacco and Edwards but whatever. If you want a perfect comparison for TE, then just stick with the Bills. He can't beat out Ryan Fitzpatrick under the exact same circumstances and that should say it all.
-
Bruce Smith and Eric Moulds say hi. There, I got it out of the way for all the homers with blinders on.
-
You have unsuccessfully diverted the argument. The debate was not if "Flacco deserves all of the glory" but rather is he comparable in ability to TE. Which is still, not even a debate. The talent around Flacco was literally the same talent that was around Kyle Boller the year before. Credit for the turnaround goes to a number of different places but largely to Flacco. What do you have against the guy?

I guess IN K.C. was what I was picturing. I always thought we did well against other great QBs. The Bills defense surrendered alot of yards but sooner or later would get the big play. It seemed like it was only a matter of time with Bruce. Teams that got after the QB, scared the hell out of me. Pittsburgh towards the end of the Kelly era is another one. I was actually more fearful for Kelly than anything else. He took absolute beatings against K.C. and teams that had good pressure. Kelly was brave too a fault at times.
-
K.C. was the only team I can remember fearing as a Bills fan . (AFC of course)
-
Child Please. If you want to make a case that Flacco and Edwards are comparable players, go right ahead. I was just trying to restore a little credibility back into this thread. Bills fans are torn on who is better, Fitzy or Edwards. That's downright pitiful. Flacco was the rookie of the year last year and the first rookie QB to win two playoff games. I suppose you think Evans is comparable to Andre Johnson as well.
-
Very true. Can you imagine if Brohm completed a couple of passes to Johnson and Hardy? This board would be buzzing all offseason with "I told you so" threads and "this guy is the real deal" topics.
-
Actually, Flacco is a huge part of the Ravens winning. The team went 5-11 the year before Flacco was drafted. The very next season, with rookie Joe Flacco as the starter, they go 13-6 making it to the afc championship. The comparison to Edwards is ridiculous. Edwards has never won anywhere and has lost his team, his coaching staff, and his job (to Ryan Fitzpatrick?). That Ravens defense is far from all-time anymore. They are solid still but not even close to that superbowl defense.

Lynch for Vick...Just a thought

Right now I'd trade ProjectPat for Skooby. -
Jamal Charles? Try again
-
Sounds good, go away.

Come on murra! We all knew that he was a project. This means zero accountability for three years minimum. George Wilson was an undrafted WR who was NFL ready at safety.
-
If Whitner gets 6 picks this weekend he will surpass Byrd for career interceptions. Not bad. I kid though, it's more likely he'll get three and pass George Wilson.

This is my feeling too. Although, the first few seasons were hilarious. -

Interesting perspective and I appreciate your response Cincy. I always liked Palmer and felt he has had a fairly dissapointing career, for many reasons. The statistics suggest his play had regressed a little but I chalked it up to a different game plan. It's too bad, he is a good ambassador for the NFL. -
I think they have drafted him twice already. The Angels have alot to offer and Buffalo would struggle to compete for his services.
-
Yup, Hall and few other guys have the same upside that these so-called first rounders have. The Bills can't afford to miss on a QB that high.
-
I agree but Locker is a workout phenom and his measurables would have been off the charts. No way that guy would have been available where we are picking. The rest of the QBs are stiffs, IMO. At least not high first round worthy.
-
False. Get over yourself buddy and do a little more research. Their are plenty of so-called experts who think that this QB crop is weak. Clearly you scout college football and evaluate talent different then the rest of us fans. Please share with us what you have found on the college road.

You keep warning about the Palmer situation and obviously pay close attention to the Bemgals. What is his problem? Is he not as good as advertised or has his injuries taken a severe toll on him? Just curious, I have only seen a handful of Cincy games this year. -
I'd hate to see Brohm play this season. That would be a tall glass of off-season Koolaid wasted. I'm being serious too, if that guy looks like hell....
