Did anyone else see this?
Bruce Campbell: Davis unhappy about Campbell, McFadden
This is very insightful.

If you watched Mallett play against Alabama, then you know what to expect at the end of an important game- he is incapable of closing the deal.
Last night, he did the same exact thing... when his team needed him to make the throws required to win the game, he inexplicably falls flat on his face. Forget all the talk of mobility and reading defenses- if you cannot win the big game and fail consistently, then you won't make it in the NFL where most teams are built from the same schools like Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, etc.
I have been wrong sometimes in the past regarding some draftees, but he is anti-clutch.

The epitomy of cheapness - Bills owner Ralph E. Wilson
It's pretty sad when a local restaurant owner has to come to the rescue to ensure Bills fans that they will be able to see the Bills game on the tube on Sunday.
Shame on you Ralph E. Wilson for not giving back to the fans that have loaded your pockets over the years. You have now earned the letter "E" as your middle initial. The "E" of course stands for Ebenizer.

Well, maybe the Bills braintrust detected something in him that others missed. Who confirmed the he rejected the Bills anyway? Or was that a media creation? Look at the mess he's created in Washington. The total mishandling of McNabb, twice, as well as all that Haynesworth headache. And with those situations as a backdrop, how much trust, really, do the players have in Shanahan now? I don't think he's looking so smart now.
I think that is a lot of hooey- I think Shanahan saw he wasn't going to be able to have the large amount of power he was seeking nor a team with much talent as he saw it, and declined.
We just got plain lucky that he rejected Buffalo- he has proven that without a Hall of Fame QB and a talented team, he's just no good.

His contract is basically a year to year contract. They extended his contract (on a year to year basis) because they wanted to make sure they had a qb on board if there was a lockout and a potentially brief training camp. They simply wanted to cover that position just in case.
There is no doubt that they are dissatisfied with his performance. They took a calculated risk and so far it hasn't worked out. They never expected DM to be a longterm solution at qb. He was basically a bridge qb for the next prospect.
Who does Washington have at the skill positions? Not hardly enough for an elite quarterback like McNabb, and it shows. I blame the Redskins lack of front office ability and talent while the coach does a miserable job. I hope he goes to Arizona where he can lead a quality team to victories, a team that badly needs a quarterback.
Anthony Armstrong? An old Santana Moss? Shanahan has a poor history of working without a ready-made team, and so yet again he fails.

All cats- Andre, Thurman, Takeo. Only Takeo is still around, sly and quick as ever.

LMAO at all you guys - but there's one more grammar ticket to be handed out before we end this: "Irregardless" is not a word, and neither is "Iregardless". "Regardless" is the correct grammar in this context, so Bills99999 please use "regardless" in future as it should be easier for you: less letters to spell and fewer syllables for you to slur.
A RIP shout out to former Bills QB great, Jack Kent Cooke and his favorite receiver, Elbert Einstein!
Irregardless is a word and just because you can't find it on Microsoft Word's dictionary does not make it automatically not a word!
Here ya go, here's your crow:

My first reaction was like this-
"Ohh MAN so close!!!! It's OK, lets move the ball and kick the FG and win this $#@$!"
I was furious when Chan chose not to attempt the FG and punted.

Who in the #@!# is Antrel Rolle?
All the more reason to establish mandatory military service like in Prussia or Turkey... that would help.
-
Uhh...OK.
Anyway, Moulds endured, Rob Johnson, KElly Holcomb, AVP and JP LOSMAN.
Nice try.
Kelly Holcomb and Rob Johnson actually put their teams in position to win in the playoffs.
Lee Evans had both Losman AND Edwards to play with, guys who did NOTHING.

do yer guess that wanker, boner and viagra are set up for a good job next seeson?
They are faced with some stiff competition- very hard to penetrate that lineup.
-
I agree, Ward is one tough dude. He hits but he can take a hit. Would love if he was a Bill. There's not one guy on this team with his attitude.
He should shut up about his dirty teammate, though.
Lee Evans has endured some of the worst quarterback play in Bills history- Bills fans should never forget it just because now he's finally diminishing...

Are you stoned, drunk or did you just skip English class for at least 4 years in a row? Skip grammar lessons for at least 2 years in a row? And were never invited to Football 101 Class at all. Fitzbeard will be a decent bridge quarterback for one year while they groom a rookie or real young QB with NFL skills. Fitz plays with as much heart as anyone in the league, but he isn't the answer to get us into contention, he makes at least 4 or 5 just plain terrible throws every week, and normally it is at a critical point in the game that he does it. Also Merriman won't be in Buffalo next year, he is a free agent was quoted before he even ever got here that he would'nt be here next season.
Shane Macmurray will be back in a Bills uniforum next year, because his akillees will be heeled. Fitzgibbons is making is so that we don't be having to draft a corderback in the draft, and I'm feeling an offendsive lineman or a defendsive one in the first round. When he hits Stevie Jenkins or Lee Ebersol for a big play, it only makes it moor obvious. Stop hatein on my man Fitzgibbons and give him a chance to sheen!!!!!

My BAD list, past and present:
Phil Simms - always seems to question plays if they are obvious or not on the replay
Dan Dierdorf - makes outrageous statements several times during any game he does
Pat Summerall - bores me to tears with his drawn out, monotone delivery
Joe Theismann - tries to be controversial with his opinions, and comes out arrogant
Matt Millen - poor analysis and tendency to favor certain teams
Tony Kornheiser - just flat out bad on all counts
Todd Christensen - the worst of all time; judgemental, whining delivery, forever questioning half the play calls- fingers on a chalk board to me.

One of the great "what ifs" in Bills history: What if Wade was the DC for that Super Bowl run?
The market value of swizzle sticks would have taken a dramatic downward spiral, resulting in layoffs.
WHAT IF we had had Ted Marchibroda as our offensive coordinator for the entire Jim Kelly-led Bills teams in the 90's?
WHAT IF we had kept Bill Polian instead of the finance guy?
Damn, there are some what ifs with regards to management, huh?
-
LMAO!!! What a horrible comparison.
Did you EVER complain about Bruce Smith or Phil Hansen not tackling when they had a good shot at a man??
NO, and so when you don't have to worry about it, you don't NOTICE IT.
-
Johnson ALMOST made a big play.
McKelvin ALMOST made a big play.
Kelsay ALMOST made several big plays, but yet he didn't MAKE the big plays save one. That's why I was constantly yelling at the TV, especially when he had Roethlisberger clean and didn't fully wrap him up. Bruce Smith or Phil Hansen finished their tackles... ALMOST making plays isn't how you win.
-
I'm obviously talking about how he usually throws a costly interception with the game on the line.
You can try to use some weird twist logic and skew the argument, but that doesn't change the fact that when it matters most he performs at his worst.
Thank God some of you weren't around when Jim Kelly played in 1986 and 1987, the original gunslinger, or else you would have said he was a choker as well. Luckily there are some who understand that football is a team game, and that just because someone is a starting quarterback doesn't mean every loss is their fault.
-
OK...hear out my rationalization.
University of Michigan loses a few more games this year and the school has decided that 3 years is enough of the Rich Rodriguez era.
Jim Harbaugh sees that as his dream head coaching job and decides to take it (I'm guessing the job would be his if he wants it seeing what he did with Stanford in the short time he was there).
Andrew Luck then decides that he does not want to spend his senior season learning a different coach's offensive playbook and enters the NFL draft.
A miraculous turnaround aside, the Bills will be in position to draft this future phenom and the next decade will be, as they say, history.
The only thing that worries me is Carolina outdoing us in losing football games and snagging him (they wouldn't right, not with Jimmy Claussen being taken in the 2nd just last year?) I know there's still a lot to be determined, but I've got my fingers crossed for good Luck.
Who's going to block for him? I'm tiring of this debate, because in the end our pass blocking will suffer, and to add we have no pass rush on defense... in essence, Luck would have to put up 30+ points a game while trying to adapt to an NFL defense. I say hell no- draft linemen until you can't any more.
-
So whos fault was that? Geezus, you act like because it slipped out of his hands (if it even did) it wasnt his fault. FITZ threw that pass with no contact by anyone else, no rain to make the ball wet, nothing to make the ball slip other than Fitz throwing that ball. Not to mention, he has had several of these this year, not like it was a first time occurence. He also had 3 other bad passes that should have been picked, but I guess those arent his fault either right?
Its like the Trent apologists have been reborn into Fitz apologists. No one is taking anything away from the plays he made, the guts he shows, or his effort...but those plays dont get him a free pass for the mistakes he makes that contribute to our losses. That was an awfully costly mistake he made when we were in great position to win the game in regulation. No one else was involved in that INT other than Fitz. Just like the 2 bad INT's he made last week that gave away the lead for good.
Someone said it perfectly...he plays just good enough to keep us close, and makes just enough mistakes to keep us from winning.
We were in Lindell's range and he missed it... we would have won. Rob Johnson led us to a game-winning drive at Tennessee, and yet we lost because of a special teams blunder. Put the blame where it belongs, which is NOT on Fitzpatrick! He did his job.
-
He was a big part of that loss just like todays horrendous INT at the end of the 4th.
OMFG.... the ball slipped out of his hands, dude... and by the way, Spiller's fumble caused our trouble with the dramatic change in momentum- Fitz's passes KEPT US IN THE GAME last week despite our defense.
-
WTF? What game did you watch today?
That interception was NOT Fitz's fault- the ball slipped out of his hand because the pass was intended for Evans cutting inside. He read the defense perfectly, found the space in the zone, and the ball squirted up. What can you do in that case? Ohh yeah, blame Fitzpatrick. Kansas City's defense has been great all year, and I thought he performed well despite not having a running game all afternoon-ohh yeah, did you notice that? Though NOT.

I think you're right - and I've got Howard in my collection, too!
I remember when I was much younger, going to the card store and being amazed at seeing the Jack Kemp rookie card with him in the Chargers uniform. I wish I had bought that card, but for someone my age $200 was a LOT of money!
To share this:
Howard Kindig played in the 1964 and ‘65 AFL Championship Games. However, as a defensive end with the Chargers, he would watch the Bills win the title both times. But as the old saying goes - if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em! Midway through the ‘67 season, Kindig didn’t exactly appreciate his head coach Sid Gillman, and couldn’t wait to get out of San Diego. "He and I just didn’t see eye to eye. It was just one of those things. I had a no-cut contract, but I told him, ‘You just go ahead and cut me.’ And so, anyway, that’s what he did. Of course, I could have gone to several other places, but I wanted to go to Buffalo," said Kindig. "I always had a lot of friends in Buffalo. When Buffalo would come to San Diego, we’d get together and have a few beers and laugh and all that stuff. I knew (Ron) McDole and (Tom) Sestak, Paul Maguire and Paul Costa. I just wanted to get to Buffalo. So when I got up there, I thought, ‘This is great!’ - Reposted from Where are They Now? at buffalobills.com -
Howard Kindig number 67; played both offensive and defensive line.
I said this a couple months ago that Kindig is my iron-clad best guess.
I have his card in my collection too, got it a looooooong time ago, like 20 years ago. I can't wait to find out the answer to this Watergate-esque mystery!
Okay Mallet, make me a believer

I'm glad someone else is paying attention, and it is not just one or two games with Mallett, but a body of work that shows his tendency to lose big games. I am NOT blaming him for the dropped passes, but when his team did make all of the plays such as in the Alabama game, he threw the worst pass you could throw in a "win the game" situation after blowing a big lead. This is his MO, like it or not, and I'm glad you were paying attention!
