  1. First Round Bills OL picks of the past:

    2002:

    Mike Williams - BUST

    The rest: (ahem)

    Ruben Brown, Pro Bowler

    John Fina (very solid LT)

    Will Wolford, Pro Bowler

    Jim Richter, Pro Bowler

    Stew Barber, AFL All-Star

WHAT are we DOING???? My God, I didn't realize that we were 5/6 on picks for OLmen. That is amazing, and yet we ignore the position for lower round picks.

    Thoughts?

  2. I was listening to the Good, Bad, and Ugly from Mike and Mike this morning, and Golic bashed the Bears O-line, saying that 9 sacks was terrible and that Cutler is 'running for his life'.

No discussion at all as to the performance of the Bills defense, that they may be greatly improved and are looking to blow up teams this year. This is pretty much expected from a 'no respect' POV, and I look forward to a return to a 99 Bills kind of defense!!

  3. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read:

"Ugoh's release comes as no surprise after what happened earlier this week. Ugoh was missing from practice on Wednesday, and nobody was really sure why. Jim Schwartz declined to comment, and the only thing we really heard was that Ugoh was considering retirement. His agent did say that Ugoh would be back in a few days, but now that won't be happening with the Lions releasing him."

  4. Are you seriously criticizing someone's English skills when your own grammar, syntax, and spelling are completely off? There are very few things more amusing on the Internet than hypocrites like you.

I would look at the proper usage of the apostrophe in your "someone's", which is also quite amusing.

  5. Also. My biggest point in previous posts, something that NO ONE has talked about: What kind of message does this send to the team? All of whom had high regard for Evans and many of whom had a lot of faith in the Bills being a strong team this coming season. Florence sums it up, and let me just say, he HAS EVERY right to feel this way.

    His Tweets:

Are we trying to win now or later????#wtfnoworlater

    Wtf wtf wtf

If I knew that was gonna happen .............??

    Wtf

Contrary to what Bills fans think, anyone who played with Lee knew he was a top talent. Especially if you trust the opinion of a guy who was defending against him in practice.

You all are acting as if he was James Lofton, Andre Reed, or even Eric Moulds, who he is not. They were teammates, and when you get to know someone you have a natural reaction like he did.

On the other hand, you being a fan and reacting the way you are is based on your OPINION of his talent and not by some emotional attachment to him. I have sat back and seen you try and make those who favor this trade out to be rookies and idiots. NO more... he's older, hasn't done much for us lately, and was replaceable.

  6. Believe what crap? That the Bills will win somewhere around 5 games this year? I'd say that's pretty accurate - they'll win 4-6 games. How on earth anybody could think differently I have no idea. Hopefully I'm wrong and they'll surprise the hell out of people and make the playoffs but I have to see it to believe it.

How on earth are we going to win the same amount of games with an improved team and considering that we lost FIVE of our close games last year that we gave away?

This is most certainly not the Bills of the mid 1980's... the only truly gaping negative that continues is the Pats dominance over the Bills, a streak that should have ended had it not been for Leodis.

  7. I found three things interesting:

    1. Pozlusny is a 'tackle guy' on one of the worst defenses in the league. Neither Mike bothered to ask WHY, and didn't mention anything other than the vs. the run stats. There was a hint of "how do you miss a player on a terrible defense" from Greeny, but they didn't really look inside the numbers.

    2. Cris Carter and this "Miami has more talent" argument... wow. Greeny really embarassed him by bringing up a Fitz for Henne trade offer, and Carter couldn't say he'd do it.. laughable! I was really beside myself not to see Golic there this morning, and instead the biased Cris Carter. UGH.

    3. Cris Carter said we don't have strong depth an WR... OK then tough guy, who ARE the other receivers we have? I was SO waiting for that, but of course no one has the cajones to make him provide actual analysis. What a joke again, CC...

  8. It is early but this kid does have a rifle arm.He can make any throw...If he can learn to read defences ,and he will get the time to do that,he will have all the tools to succeed..

His decision making is terrible in big games no matter if he reads the right defense or not.... after the way he single handedly lost the two big games this past season, I am surprised New England would draft him.

  9. To all you pro-trade guys, do you ever wonder how many good ball players never reach their potential, playing on a squad that is perpetually flawed, and "building" for some better tomorrow that never seems to come? I don't expect the Bills to win a lot more than they did last year, but it bums me out, going into the season, that the team management is already willing to mail in the season...

Improvement comes at a cost, and Lee Evans has gone past his peak (37 receptions vs. 82 for Steve Johnson this past year) in a system that doesn't depend on the long ball. So long as Ryan Fitzpatrick is our QB, he isn't an absolute must have kind of player.

  10. IMO, holding onto Lee is the prudent move, especially with all the talk regarding how Chan plans to integrate him more into the offense. If he is playing well and the Bills are winning, you keep him. If he is playing good and the Bill's are losing, the price for a WR on the contender could go up due to injuries. Then, you deal him.

There is no better time to trade Lee Evans than right now, before anyone sees him play. If Arizona needs a complimentary receiver and they are willing to pay for it, do it. Why not? If we aren't able to be in a position to make the playoffs by using our offense as I see now, then give us more tools to improve the team vice hanging onto him for little upside and value.

  11. Our OT situation is in a really really sad state and it has been for a while. Time to admit that we shouldn't have cut Peters and Walker because whether you liked them or not they were far and away better than what we have now. It's probably too late now but Ralph should have opened the coffers and gotten a couple play off caliber OTs instead of the failing projects we currently have.

Peters has been just as hurt as Bell has been, and he costs MUCH more!!!! Come on, no smoke and mirrors...

  12. I think you should check that stat line. He was not the great talent so many Bills fans recall him to have been. And fwiw, those QB's he had throwing the ball to him from 1996-2003 had decent numbers and those teams had mostly good defenses.

Would his numbers have been better had he played with Peyton Manning? You bet. Would Manning have tolerated his act? I doubt it. And don't think for a minute that when Reggie Wayne comes up for HOF consideration that the voters won't hold against him the fact that Harrison also put up astronomical numbers.

I would take Harrison at wr over Moulds 8 days per week. Harrison was a master of his craft. His quest for perfection mirrored what was going on in Indy. Likewise, Moulds mirrored what was happening in Buffalo. Less talent and less attention to detail.

Mostly decent numbers???? Decent as in average... our teams made the playoffs by our DEFENSE, and any Bills fan worth their salt will be honest there.

Moulds wouldn't have HAD to act like anything other than a class act WR because his QB is Peyton Manning!!!! I mean you just proved my point- when you have a great offensive brain trust and QB, you're gold if you have skills like Moulds.

Could you imagine Marvin Harrison being pulled over in Buffalo ala Marshawn Lynch? Marvin Harrison could have easily been charged with premeditated murder, I mean come on.. poor example... poor.

  13. I loved Eric Moulds as well. I agree he had HoF talent and may have been inducted had he played on a different team. If he and Marvin switched teams, moulds would have been the HoFer IMO as well. We'll never know, only discuss it. His speed, power, hands and intensity made him a monster, only to be held back by his QB/OL. I miss him in a bills uni.

Sometimes I wonder why people have to put the failures of the whole team on the best player when they are surrounded by mostly average or worse talent. He deserved better, and like other great Bills of the past who suffered, will never be fully recognized by anyone outside of the fan base. Examples like Jerry Butler and Greg Bell come to mind- who could imagine working your butt off for year after year, only to see dreams crushed and the agony of losing eat up your soul despite the talent?

  14. Are we talking about the same Eric Moulds who quit on his teammates right in the middle of a dolphins game because Lee Evans was getting more looks than him?

Yeah, let's bring him back so Fitz can toss him a high floater between the hashes right in front of Brandon Meriweather .....

That's extremely petty, considering all of the BS Eric had to put up with over the years. He deserved a lot better and there were plenty of frustration moments from our HOFers and future HOFers.

  15. Yes. Because the whole 'police yourselves --- if you wouldn't show it to your mother, don't use it as an avatar' policy failed... or some people here have a very weird relationship with their mothers.

On a site that wants to remain family- and fan-friendly, some posters pushed the envelope too far to see what they could get away with. There were several instances of Seinfeld-ian "I think I see a nipple!" and borderline pornography. And so, SDS and the mods felt they had to take corrective measures. It's their show. Don't like it? You don't have to post here.

If one wants to see that kind of stuff, there's plenty of places to find it online.

And, true to form of people who can't or won't follow the rules of TBD, this should have been put on the Customer Service board.

Uh huh. Yeah. Killing America, one PC rule at a time. :P

  16. It's obvious that some people will say or do anything to prove their allegiance to Ralph.

It's funny to think the Sabres actually have a cash owner who is rock solid & wants championships, my God is this really happening is all I keep asking. Ralph is the exact opposite type of owner & it's going to really show up this season, mark my words.

You all can bash Ralph Wilson all you want to, but the Buffalo Bills are STILL in WNY. He could have sold the team and it could have moved to LA or Toronto, but did it? NO. No matter how bad the team has gone since the 1990s, we still have a team to B word about, and for that I am grateful. I can wait for the new ownership to get us back to where we once were and to win a Super Bowl, but I'm not going to jump on the bash Ralph Wilson bandwagon.
