How can you have an official thread for a game so early? Why not start one close to kick off so its not 4 pages long at kickoff
It would be long regardless... people do get excited, you know!!
How about them Titans?!?!
-
I saw that- if TB is this bad, it makes me nervous as well... however, they have been worse at home. I dunno; it is the beginning of the season, and it is hard to tell.
-
Have to wait another 2 hours.. ugh.
-
Tim,
I know you will probably not respond to this until after the game, but I have to know-
I noticed that the NFL Countdown crew made it a point to ask if the weather would give the Saints more problems or would it be the Buffalo defense. Isn't that unfair to take away from the Bills' defense if they do do well? If the Bills do manage to stunt the Saints attack or even win the game, then I feel that the weather has been put out there as an excuse.
Ohh, and it doesn't help that two former AFC East players (Keyshawn Johnson with the Jets and Cris Carter with the Dolphins) have places in front of the camera to say it will be the weather... just a note.

We know the Eagles are the absolute kings of Offensive Line judgement since they traded for Peters so it's ok that we pass on Runyon because he doesn't hold up to the Eagles would sign him litmus test.
+1. That says it all- great point!

HOW can Ralph Wilson and Al Davis still be friends? It still boggles my mind... Al Davis is so petty, so crotchety, and so vindictive that he makes a certain Austrian corporal look good- it is that bad. Wow. LOL
-
Week 3 or not, it is obvious that Joey Galloway is a piss-poor replacement, Seymour is a huge loss, and the Patriots won't win vs. good opponents without a healthy Brady. His passing has cost them games, but that can't last forever unless he is playing through pain or nagging injuries, whether because of last year or the preseason hit.
This is why the injury reporting process in the NFL needs to be revamped... Belichick is not being honest about Brady it appears.
-
They have been gutted, and are getting older. It comes to no surprise to me that it will inevitably collapse, so now let's see how brilliant Belichick is...!!

For all of you 16 year old morons who attacked my understanding of football and doubt whether Ralph Wilson is playing you for a fool by be a cheapskate who has ruined this franchise a few questions:
When was the last time you saw a Bills play-off game?
1999, but hey, we also didn't have a tough division back then either.
Who fired Bill Polian?Polian got himself fired.
Where is Jason Peters these days?Giving up sacks and being his injury-prone, overrated self as usual.
We have an injury prone QB yet who is his back-up? (Is he a better QB than Garcia or Vick?)Trent Edwards missed a game this year? I missed that one.... please.
You think the Bills are a play-off team this year?Have you seen how competitive our division is as well as the AFC? The AFC is just superior these days....
Who's our coach stupid? Why do you think this ineffective loser is still coaching after being outcoached in most games last year? Is he better than say, I don't know Cowher, Shanahan, Rex Ryan or Eric Mangini?Better than Mangini is like saying he's better than a piece of rotten wood, so yes. Who said Jauron will be around next year and we DON'T sign Cowher or Shanahan? That was a lot of cash to eat by firing Jauron.
Get your head out of the sand stupid Ralph Wilson makes every move based on money, he signed TO because he knew it would sell ticket while an all-pro lineman like Peters would just make the team better. I liked the TO signing but winning isn't why he was signed. Let's see how good this new line is when we face a real defense. The Patriot and Bucc d's are awful.OWENS is miles better than PETERS... get off of your Peters fetish and realize that Ralph will spend the money to win, bu he won't do it by having a free agent party like many teams do just to appease fans like you. The NFL doesn't work that way! Roethlisberger, Ward, Holmes, Mendenhall, Parker, Miller, etc. are ALL HOMEGROWN, and not big free agents. That says a lot. THAT is what it takes to win.
-
1. It is RUNYAN.
2. If he was so good at this point, he'd be on another team by now, same with Marvin Harrison and the other Pro-Bowl free agents that have met their end. Let it go- we did the right thing in this case; and blaming Ralph is just over the top.

Probably the only madden add on I'll get this year. Too bad they don't have the old stadiums...would have loved to play a throwback game in the Rockpile
I know it!!! It is too bad... it looked a lot like what Forbes Field looked like:

And yet it continues... Phil Luckett, yer a bastard.

Check out the new AFL Legacy add-on for Madden 10, coming September 24th!!!!!!
http://sports.espn.go.com/videogames/news/story?id=4455019
All I can say is WOWZA!!! I absolutely love the features listed, and look forward to winning that Bills-Broncos Madden Moment!
To add, the first episode on Showtime of the history of the AFL was outstanding.

WAIT a second!!!!!
How could ANYONE forget the game in Foxboro where not ONLY was Shawn Jefferson OUT OF BOUNDS on a crucial play at the very end of the game and ruled a catch, AND THEN to really stick the knife in, call pass interference on Henry Jones on a throw up prayer?!?!!
Ralph got fined by Tagliabue for ripping the NFL, and it propelled the Patriots to greater heights of B.S. when the fumble-called-tuck made the Patsies the most hated team in the AFC??
That game cost us home field in the playoffs... and it STILL pisses me off to this day!!!!!
-
Good joke.
Did he turn the ball over ONCE in the game at New England?
Did he cost us the game?
BINGO.
-
It was surely inevitable that the media would take an opportunity after this loss to make it all about T.O. and to take his comments as being supremely critical of Trent. What Schlereth said is more hype than actual commentary, and how many former NFL players are going to take this road vice say a Tony Dungy, who is honest?
Stupid media- always trying to stir up trouble. Edwards is NOT as bad as Romo, period. We should have taken a couple of shots at least to keep the defense honest... why is that so hard to fathom? Duh.
-
The ABSOLUTE LOCK of the day is the RAVENS at home over the Croyle-led Chiefs.
You won't get a better opportunity to win and be fully relaxed after today. It is a GIVEN.
-
Maybin, without a doubt... he's rested, healthy, and doesn't have much with regards to footage for opposing teams to look at.
-
It’s shocking that an organization with a 100 year old owner that insists on constantly interfering with day to day football operations and decisions is dysfunctional. That’s pretty much the standard recipe for success in the modern NFL; I can’t understand why it’s not working here.
HOF baby!!!
Please prove this 'constantly interfering with day to day football operations' charge you just dreamed up. Shanahan, Cowher, etc. are out there just waiting to be had by season's end, along with a real plan for success. He's not freakin AL DAVIS for God's sake!!!! Man, it is getting pretty crazy around here.
-
If you really think pre-season matter, look no further than last year. Detroit Lions went 4-0 in pre=season last year, and as we all know, 0-16 in regular season.
SO tell me, does pre-season really matter? HELL NO
It is not the RESULT!!!!!! How many damn times does someone have to say that before SOMEONE gets a clue?!?!!??!
Ask Turk Schonert if preseason PLAY matters, and he'll tell you HELL YES, as a lot of us have said. Ding, dong, found a light bulb.

I'm starting to think that most Bills fans and TBD posters have finally taken off the rose colored glasses and realize what I've know since the Peters trade and the complete rebuilding of the offensive line, the Bills will only be as good as their O line.
I HALF agree with you-
The Peters trade was NOT a bad trade, it was a good trade- he was greatly overrated (look at the number of sacks he gave up) and he had to go.
Our offensive line is the key and most everyone is realizing it now, and we're just not that good in that area. The very idea that "it is just preseason" is LUDICROUS since as it has already been pointed out that our starters have been miserable in the 1st quarter, which DOES matter.
