  1. Giants play the Redskins. Giants are locked into their playoff seed. If the Skins win, they're in; they lose, they're out. Should the Giants go 100% in and eliminate their division rivals? Or go 50% (bench many starters) and get ready for the playoffs? As a Bills fan, would you want to eliminate the Pats/Fins/Jets from the playoffs Week 17? Or don't bother risking any major injuries? For me, I'd say go all-in and eliminate them. They're a division rival. You're supposed to hate e/o. Eliminating your division rival from the playoffs Week 17 is part of what makes the season great; it's part of what you play for IMO. So what would you do?
  2. Haha. I get what you're saying, but I don't see a problem with Lynn reaching out to someone such as Parcells for advice. To me that's an honorable quality. It means that Lynn is humble enough to recognize when he needs help or advice. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that IMO. Lynn should promote Kromer to OC. Kromer assists Lynn with the weekly game planning and Kromer focuses on the weekly minutiae of the offense and on game day Lynn makes the play calls on offense. It would essentially be the same offense. Andy Reid, Sean Payton, Kubiak, Obrien, Gruden, Arians, Chip Kelly, McAdoo, Mike McCarthy, Doug Pederson, etc. They all call their own plays too and the OC (Kromer for us) would be there to assist Lynn with the game plan/strategy during the week.
  3. Absolutely nothing. This Jets team gave up weeks ago. They couldn't even get amped for a prime time game weeks ago, with players on defense saying "f*** this game, where the Hoes at" before the game on snapchat. The Jets are currently the worst team in the NFL and worse than the Browns, because the Browns were at least trying to win to avoid going winless.
  4. Tom Coughlin was a great coach. He had a great run. But it's over. It needs to be over. What he did in Jax was 21 years ago and irrelevant at this point in time.
  5. Valid concern to an extent. However, it is undeniable that Lynn "took Roman's offense" and made it much much better: Under Roman last year we ranked 12th in points; and 24th in Red Zone Scoring % (Roman's offenses have always struggled in the Red Zone if I recall correctly). We led the league in rushing under Roman with 152yds/game; This year we rank 7th in the NFL in scoring and rank 5th in Red Zone Scoring %; we obliterated last year's rushing yard/game mark and we're at 170.8 yds/game. (Also, since Lynn took over week two we rank 6th in the NFL in scoring). The improvement is considerable and this season our entire WR corps was depleted. There aren't that many experienced HC candidates out there besides old retreads and other inexperienced coordinators who would be complete wild cards just like Lynn. The thing with Lynn is, if we don't make him HC, I don't see him staying here. If we bring in a new HC, he's going to bring in his own guys (justifiably so). It'll be a complete rebuild on both the defense and the offense. It would be a repeat of the mistake we made with Schwartz two years ago. In retrospect, we should have promoted Schwartz to HC. His defense was playing really well and the hire would've made complete sense. Instead, we screwed up the defense. Lynn deserves the HC shot. He earned it IMO. Lets not continue to cut off our nose to spite our face. Promote Lynn, and make a great hire at DC to right the ship on that side of the ball.
  6. Lynn checks off all the boxes for me. Nearly two decades of NFL coaching experience. He was put in stressful situations this season and met the challenge. His units have not only performed but have been among the best in the NFL last season with the rushing game and this season with the entire offense. Players apparently respect him. They know him. They perform. If Lynn was on another team we would be drooling over him more probably. There are always questions about coordinators who havent been HC's but no coordinator is more deserving right now imo. Bring in a DC like Gus Bradley and lets make the playoffs next season. Lynn and Bradley would make this team instantly better this very moment.
  7. At some point it does become a zero-sum game. Look at Tennesee the drop off from in rushing from the Bills to Ten is not substantial from 1st to 3rd. Two spots. Tennessee is 24th in passing, up 7 spots from us. Yet Tennessee ranks 13th in the NFL in scoring. Theyre more balanced than us but dont come near us in scoring at 2.1pts per game less. Probably the most "balanced" teams in the NFL have been Dallas and Oakland. Yet we have only scored 1.3 and 1.4pts per game less than both those teams. We're closer to the Oaklands and Dallas's of the world than Tennesee is to us. My point is, if youre able to do something REALLY well, do that. Know who you are. Excel at it. TT doesnt have to be here 7yrs. But he can be more than serviceable while we either groom Cardale or draft someone else. Improve the defense.
  8. Lets sit down and think this through for a few seconds. With Tyrod, the Bills rank #7 in the NFL in touchdowns per game (3rd in AFC); #6 in the NFL in points per play (#2 in AFC); #5 in Red Zone TD % (#2 in AFC); #7 overall in points scored per game (3rd in AFC); #4 in NFL QB Rating in the Red Zone. Where is the improvement going to come? in between the 20's? That's the only possibly place this offense can improve with a "better passing attack". At what expense? At the detriment of the running game? Why? Why even go there? How many teams move the ball up and down the 20's passing it and then can't punch it into the end zone once they get to the red zone? Is a better passing attack going to make us #1 in every statistical category I listed? B/c that's the territory this offense would have to approach to be considered effective around here apparently, just look at the numbers up there. The Patriots have scored a whopping 1 Point more than the BILLS since week 2. ONE MORE POINT since week 2. So to be clear, this team would've gone 11-5 with a better passing game this year - how? Break that down to me. Would they have ranked #1 in scoring? Overtaken the Falcons? Who knew that in 2015 when Rex took over we had so much talent on this offense, that we'd be talking about the Bills offense having to approach NFL leading numbers on offense in order to be considered good. Players like Groy, Mills, Powell, Tate, Goodwin, Harvin, Hunter, Salas, Mike G, Reggie Bush, they're the stars in this high-powered offense. TT is just going along for the ride apparently. Or maybe I missed it and Shady had a 2,000yd rushing season with 20TD's.
  9. Possibly. But it does have talent. Hughes, MD, KW will be back, Ragland, Shaq, Adolphus. We'll see what happens with Gilmore. Darby played well last year. We need 2 players: a safety and a corner if Gilmore leaves. Where do you think a better landing spot would be for him?
  10. I don't see that Dave - rarely do you see a HC go from one HC spot to another after failing miserably as a HC (unless he had prior HC success). He's going to be a DC somewhere. Where is he going to have more talent at defense than in Buffalo. For a DC, this is one of the better landing spots. It's a joke.
  11. Breaking News @AdamSchefter: Doug Marrone is being considered for the Bills HC vacancy. #Bills
  12. Lynn HC; pick up option on TT; make Kromer OC; and sign Gus Bradley, and we go 10-6/11-5. We're almost there man.
  13. I don't necessarily disagree with you; Trotter also came off as trying to put the Rex and Marrone hires on Whaley, which isn't completely accurately. Just trying to relay what people are saying nationally.
  14. Jim Trotter was pissed about how Bills left Lynn hanging. http://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2016/12/buffalo_bills_are_a_dumpster_fire_says_espns_jim_trotter.html
  15. I 100% get what youre saying and we may be arguing different things. What Im saying is that this offense doesnt need to improve at QB. This offense doesnt revolve around the QB and bc it doesnt recolve around the QB we dont need an elite "franchise" QB. We need TT. We need someone who can throw the deep ball to sammy 2-3x a game and scramble for a 1st down 3-5x a game. We need a QB who is perfectly content throwing it 20x a game in the majority if his starts. In sum, this offense is the running game. And Im fine with that. I dont think it needs to be changed for this team to win. I feel that their scoring rate proves that. The defense needs to change and thats it. Id be 100% fine going to battle with the exact same players on offense next season. Im not asking for Julio Jones a pro bowl RT and travis kelce. Im just objectively saying that the offense as a whole could benefit from an upgrade at RT and better WR depth. Other than that im personally ready to roll with this offense for the next 2-3yrs. Others are not and thats cool. Theyre wrong but thats cool. Lol
  16. Gotcha. Well as for fans I can only speak of what my friends think. My friends consist of Giants, Redskins, Jets, Dolphins and Chiefs fans. For the most part, they all think that we'd be silly to break up the offense and/or not retain TT. But they also think that we should've probably given Rex one more season..so take it with a grain of salt I guess.
  17. If our running game breaks down, our chances of winning are extremely reduced, much the same way that if the Falcons or Saints passing game breaks down (which it does at times), they're chances of winning are extremely reduced. In the NFL, you find something that works and you run with it (pardon the pun). How many games have we scored in the teens this season? Two maybe 3? How many times has our running game been shut down? Point is, this offense rarely gets completely shut down. Every team in the NFL has games where they have clunkers on offense. Look at what the high flying Falcons did in Philly. Or what they did in Seattle. The Ravens have a top 5 defense. We sucked. It was week 1 on the road and we came out flat. It happens. But other than 2-3 games this season this offense hasn't been completely shut down all game. Fact remains, a better defense and we're in the playoffs. Just like if the Saints had a better defense, they'd be in the playoffs.
  18. At the time of the signing or currently? B/c I haven't read one report that thought the contract was silly, if anything that it was wise (for the Bills). I'm not saying such reports don't exist.. It's been to the contrary from what I've read: Columnists and reporters have acknowledged how the Bills would be silly to not pick up the option on TT after this season
  19. You may be right, but I don't think so. A run-first team can be hard on some QB's. Some QB's need a lot of pass attempts to get into a rhythm. It's hard, for many QB's, to consistently pass the ball accurately and effectively if they're only throwing it 20x a game. It's like, alright, I know you've only thrown the ball 1-2x in the last 10 plays, but we need a big 3rd and 8 conversion now. It's not that easy IMO. Big time passing QB's need to pass the ball, they want to pass the ball. So in this offense, we would go away from what makes it great: running the ball, and running it a lot. The dynamics of the passing game would change, and that may be fine, or it may not. To me it comes down to this: This offense works. It scores points, and it scores a lot. TD's/play; Red Zone offense; total points; Touchdowns scored (not fg's); 3rd down % it's 14th, not great but not horrible. TT has been a part of that. It can't be denied or taken away from him. Pick up the option, pick up a better RT, and add WR depth.
  20. I swear people hear 1 report that's false, and they continue to believe it. No wonder "fake news" is such a big thing. Just put some BS story out there, and enough people will believe it, even if it's incorrect. They won't care. Dumbing down of America.
  21. The day of people outside of buffalo not watching bills games are over. This isn't 1985. Its called the Sunday Ticket. I watch Jags games. I watch Texans games. Heck, I've watched 2-3 Browns games this season. I watch all games. I love football. If you're a reporter or an analyst, you're watching games.
