  1. Your starting to catch on to how sleazy politicians work. Now let’s see if you can find the pattern with someone else.
  2. Good to see the overwhelming majority views their local law enforcement favorably despite that idiot and the recent campaign trying to undermine LEO in general.
  3. Wonderful news. I love it when the government gets involved in my diet. Remember when their ‘war on fat’ led to increased food processing, trans fats, excessive sugar and salt into almost everything we ate and we saw dramatic increases in heart disease, obesity and cancer? THANKS GOVERNMENT 👍 Bullying the populates into a slew of unintended consequences since for as long as they’ve been around.
  4. If we stop paying people not to work, it should sort itself out.
  5. I did that job. 2/3rds of population doesn’t have a college degree. Almost 10 million people are unemployed. Seems to me an undesirable job vs no job shouldn’t be an option.
  6. It might not be a passion, but if I need a job and they are hiring I’m not above earning a paycheck. Like all careers you start way the bottom and work your way up. Can’t be harder than Cleaning, gutters, mowing lawns tossing mulch and wheelbarrowing crushed stone uphill for 70 hours a week.
  7. That is a pretty ridiculous problem to have isn’t it? So our fundemental national crisis is laziness.
  8. I’m glad for your sake they are in private school. I hope your tuition is locked because I expect they are going to get flooded with new applicants.
  9. Virginia is losing its collective mind on education. There is some component of virtual schooling that can be employed to help access. But kids need the unstructured learning of the playground, being present an accountable to others in position of authority. I just heard some of the parent teacher meetings around iep will stay virtual. That’s probably good.
  10. I just watched the CEO of the US chamber of commerce say our biggest national problem is we have a labor shortage. So which is it? We need covid relief to help those that lost their jobs to covid? We have an unemployment problem? Or is it We have a labor shortage? Is welfare too lucrative to be bother working ? Why is it so hard to ask for a coherent government??
  11. She was actually living in a foster home, not with her distraught loving parents now suing for damages. I wonder if they commissioned a study of how many police shooting victims, who were in the act of committing a crime, of all races grew up in intact two parent households what they’d learn. As you say there all multiple problems. want to call it systemic excessive police force? Ok the second is endemic crime
  12. On your personal example of counterfeiting, did you happen to be a multiple time convict and felon who was convicted with armed robbery and assault of a pregnant woman and also high on meth and fentanyl? I mean Chauvin is garbage and has 30-40 years in a cell rightfully coming, but Floyd wasn’t Muhatma Ghandi here. Imagine how that woman that was robbed and assaulted at gun point by him feels seem him martyred.
  13. They disagree with the left wing 🤷‍♂️
  14. Going to an expensive school for a teaching degree is definitely a poor investment. My wife got a masters from TC Columbia... lol. Hoping college prices plateau with virtual learning showing it can get the job done. I suspect then your talking jersey not near philly or NYC. Hard to imagine taxes aren’t higher there and COl, but NC has been a place for northerners to flee taxes oppressive cost of living and crappy government. my relative moved to Southport and live well for cheap, but it’s probably a relative perspective. Good luck w/ jersey even if we despise each other’s political takes 😛
  15. Freedom to be drafted to fight in a war against my will? Freedom to pay a government a third of my earnings at their decree. Freedom is a great rally cry and there is a relative level of freedom here, but it’s not much different than most of the western world. and our government continues to grow more and more corrupt.
  16. Jersey is way expensive over Wilmington. I have family outside of Wilmington. Dirt cheap to live. Don’t know Raleigh. So individual poverty in us is 13k / yr. starting teacher pay there is 41k. Avg is high 50s. That seems decent for that cost of living. I hope no one pursues teaching to get rich, that would be misguided. Also a HH with two average salaried teachers at 50k/yr would be in the top 35% HHI in a lower cost of living. Not too bad...
  17. This guy really needs to be a writer for fortune cookies.
  18. I’ve got family teaching in Virginia, NC Georgia and formally SC. If it’s a 7 day per week job, you’re either in a screwed up school district or there’s a productivity problem. sometimes people are bad at setting boundaries, I am for sure, but I don’t mind working as long as I see it’s getting me somewhere. Pay in NC was significantly superior to the surrounding states when I lived in Greenville. Not sure if that’s changed.
  19. Interesting that the image in the article shows two biological males placing first and second against a field of biological females. I guess advancements in transgender rights are going to undermine progress in women’s sports... so be it. for the record I absolutely would have no concern with biological females playing men’s sports.
  20. lots of people on salary work more than 40 hour. In IT we do cutovers 12 or more times a year that go from midnight to 8 am Sunday morning. There’s no extra pay for that. in other less entitled parts of the world people work a helluva lot more than 50 hrs per week for professional jobs. Teaching well is a tough job, but it’s not uniquely tough and they get paid pretty decently in many school districts. The job security is also extremely high. in fact I started engineering right out of school and my wife started teaching at the same time. She made slightly more than I did, But my job was more demanding than hers. I think there are some teachers who set out to do the job thinking it’s easy and summers off and all then are rudely awakened to the realities that work is well..... work
  21. Those strongly numbers are what jump out at me. How can you have a third say he’s doing great and a third saying he’s doing horribly.
  22. Italy empty chair, France, camera off lol
  23. This is a great question. What would you propose? Just doing that shaming thing hypocritical libs do when it suits them. my carnitas omelette was fantastic this morning btw...
  24. Title should have been “racist government is root of all evil, so we need more government.” I can’t believe we are in the process of resegregation and its being called progressive. Diversity and integration has only ever been the solution.
  25. Oh I meant to air quote ‘long lasting’ how about these hip grandmas wearing the ripped ones.. 😆
