One game Mr obvious. So you agree with the Thurman comparisons yesterday? They did have a week this year with multiple. I can't help you watch with your eyes closed. Put your Cook jersey on an enjoy. You don't have to come  to this thread.

I will say that watching the game with my 72 year young father yesterday, he said in the first quarter, "Cook looks like vintage Thurman today".  He was alluding to the ability to both rush and catch... and make tacklers miss with the change of pace, direction and power when needed.

Josh can throw a 50y frozen rope better than any QB in the league.

It still takes time for the ball to travel 50+ yards and there's a limited area that the defender has to be able to cover because of sidelines and endlines.  Defenders would have more than enough time to cover and turn and face the ball - this gives them the same right to the ball as the WR, which largely takes PI out of the equation.

There isn’t a whole lot of history of NFL contracts being voided or having relief based on off field behavior. People keep saying this like it’s common place and it’s not.

Teams eat contracts and cap dollars all the time when players turn out to be total POS.

Best bet for cap relief is for Von to retire, take a cap friendly buyout, and disappear silently.

There’s even less evidence that Von will do something silently.

Sitting Miller or losing him for the rest of the season is immaterial in my mind.  He is terrible and doesn't warrant getting a roster spot on game days.

My interest in this story begins and ends with, AND IF, we have the ability to terminate his K and get out of salary cap hell with what is a disastrously bad deal.  That's the prize here.

The remainder of the year is neither here or there.

This is spot on - we get the same production and expense either way - if anything, I’d rather have AJE and Groot get more reps this season.

Strictly business - the best thing possible for the organization is to terminate the contract if possible.  It’s not a good look for anyone, but it speeds up the “retool” process.  Had he not torn his ACL last year the conversation may be different.

  5. It could have been harder had we made the tackle in bounds rather than stripped the receiver of the reception on the previous play.  A running clock for that kick would have amped up the pressure.  - I fully understand that the defender isn't thinking about this in the moment.

  6. Was the game outcome “fixed” - I doubt it.  They wouldn’t have called the Kelce false start in crunch time to move them back if it was truly scripted.

Are refs taking money to impact betting lines -  it would amaze me if it wasn’t happening given the amount of money involved.

Yesterday there were egregiously bad calls made.  New York needs to step in during these moments and correct the on field errors.  The technology and systems exist. It’s worth “slowing down the game” to make the correct calls in my opinion.

  7. If assigning the number based upon targets and production - Shakir has already proven to be ahead Davis.  If we're saying a WR2 is a deep threat guy, we currently don't have one with any level of constancy.

    Ideal target distribution going forward:
    Diggs
    Kincaid
    Shakir
    Davis
Everyone else until proven differently (including Knox).

Davis and Shakir both block well.  I think Shakir runs sharper routes.  Neither is near Diggs in this category though.  Shakir also seems to have better hands and creates separation.  Davis is a busted coverage deep threat at this point.

  8. Diggs is only a problem to talking heads and call-in radio listeners.  His brother tweeting is a distraction.. but that's not a reflection of what #14 brings to the table.

He works hard at is craft - harder than anyone on the roster from what I've seen.

    He wants to win.
He produces and doesn't disappear from games.

In the moments after the Hamlin collapse - he was the lone member trying to regroup and get ready.  He gets labeled as a "Diva"  because of the position he plays.  If he was a QB, we'd say he's a firey leader.

  9. Not interested in Frazier.  I would love a McD clone for defensive coordinator.  I honesty think he is one of the best defensive minds in the game.  It's just apparent that he can't do both jobs (HC and DC) at an elite level.  I do think our defense is producing better this season that the same unit would with Frazier, but it's come at the detriment of the greater good.

WTAF are you trying to say?   Speak some English please.....

He’s essentially meditating. Other players are probably told to give him space so he can slow his heart beat, focus, and do whatever it is the guru or sports psychologist has told him he needs to do to be great.   He’s been open about it and called it LOW POSITIVE.

Michigan is being investigated for sign stealing.  Rumor is the school pulled Harbaughs contract extension until the investigation is concluded.  Michigans president was also pretty clear they’d ditch Harbaugh if he wasnt being “clean”.

Plus Harbaugh could avoid NCAA sanctions by going back to the NFL.

If Urban Meyer is indeed going to Michigan State - its further incentive to leave now too.

  12. McDermott has had a great track record with DBs.  The fact that he can’t coach up this 1st round pick says more to me about the player than they system or coaching staff.

Elam has been jumped by JAGs and an off-the-couch has-been.  The organization has every reason to develop him

and play him, but they choose not to.  Assuming they can’t trade him for - 6th or 7th this off-season, I see no scenario where he’s on the roster next season.

  13. By and large the call-ins are horrendous.  It's even worse if you listen to the more than one or two segments per day because the same phone-in hot take will be repeated multiple times.

Obviously the real knowledge doesn't wait in a phone queue.  It rambles stream of consciousness on TBD.

  14. Josh talked about his  new “low positive” plan.  He comes off the sideline and tries to get his heart rate down so that he can clear his mind as much as possible to process info in the game.  It’s like he’s meditating.

It really explains the difference in in his perceived level of care.

  15. I believe him to be a very hard worker.  The character flaw I see is that he's too loyal to "his guys" and gives them too long of a leash to figure things out.

That said - if any one of about a dozen coinflip events yesterday didn't bounce TB's way, this game was a blowout.  For the first time in a month, they looked prepared and had an attacking game plan.  Now if they can just keep on the throttle for 4 quarters, we'd have a better record and this board would be a lot more tolerable.

The drunk Bucs fan in a crazy pimp outfit sitting next to me in Section 108 row 1 agrees with you. He started screaming “I hate you Todd Boles” right up until the moment that it worked. BTW, just how many times are the Bills going to tip a pass just to have it fall into a receiver’s hand?

I actually don't mind the 2pt conversion there on the road.    If you make it, you have a chance to win in regulation. I believe historically 2pt conversions are hitting around 48%.
