  1. Our drafts have been good for the most part. The mistakes to me have been when they've drafted position of need over best player available.  Rarely does the position of need step in year 1 and play at high level. There's enough turnover in the league that the "best player available"s position will be a need in a season or two.

I think this is why Beane has been very good in later rounds.

Philadelphia has been great at letting someone fall to them (probably from Alabama or Georgia)

To me he would be more of the same. Every WR after Shakir is a shoulder shrug imo, the potential is there but so far there is nothing special although I give Keon more runway due to being a rookie.

Davis had that amazing game in 13 seconds and instead of embracing big play Gabe he became some times he’ll catch it Gabe and was a mediocre option for us but if he signs for cheap he could beat out a few of those guys most likely.

The issue become if it's coin-toss/shrug, what savings do we get by taking him?  Even if he signs for a vet minimum, we're still on the hook for Samuel, Moore and Palmer if they're cut.  Unless we can trade Samuel, I just don't see it happening.

Gabe is probably the 2nd best WR currently available behind Keenan Allen. He will likely get offers far and away higher than what we could offer. They said maybe the Steelers would be interested as a Pickens replacement

Nobody is going to offer him more than what Jacksonville is on the hook for.  He will sign for the vet minimum and continue to collect the remainder of his pay from Jacksonville.  He has complete control over where he wants to go.  He can choose to chase a title as a role player or try to find a spot on a team that needs him to be a WR2/3 in hopes that he can get enough receptions and stats to get another deal down the road.

I picked Amos but am not disappointed at all with Hairston. I don’t think a trade back was too realistic an option. I do think Sanders would’ve been the likeliest target if a team was trying to move up at that point and with KC and PHI behind Buffalo, why would a team trade back into the first for him? If a team really liked a different player maybe, but who would that be? Was there anyone left at that point worth the trade back into the first?

Agreed - Sanders seems like the only real target, with someone likely wanting to jump Cleveland.  The Steelers dont have the ammo.  The Titans and Giants took their QB.  Dropping back to the Saints pick would have been too much.  Cleveland had no incentive to move up from either of their early 2nd rounders.

Outside of Tennessee wanting to jump the Eagles for Campbell, I don't see where there was a realistic partner that would allow us to get "our guy" rather than best remaining.

If I know one thing about Mr. Bond, it is that he doesn't throw the word "patently" around lightly.  I'm confident he's innocent now.

  7. Had my meeting today.  Lower bowl endzone.

    PSL: $2500 ($500 down, $100/month for 20 months at 0 interest)

  8. Rarely does criticism come from someone who is doing better than you....

Monos was director of personnel for the Bills 2013-2017. Let's look at the track record:

2013: Ej Manuel, Robert Woods, Kiko, Marquis Goodwin, Duke Williams, Jonathan Meeks Dustin Hopkins, Chris Gragg
2014: Sammy Watkins, Cyry Kouandijo, Preston Brown, Ross Cockrell, Cyril Richardson, Randell Johnson, Seantrel Hendersen
2015: Ronald Darby, John Miller, Karlos Williams, Tony Steward, Nick O'Leary, Dezmin Lewis
2016: Shaq Lawson, Reggie Ragland, Adolphus Washington, Cardale Jones, Jonathan Williams, Kolby Listree, Kevon Semour
2017: Tre White, Zay Jones, Dion Dawkins, Matt Milano, Natah Peterman, Tanner Vallejo

One good draft class in 5 tries - coincidently the first year Beane and McDermott were here with him.

  9. 1) Dolphins
    2) Chiefs
    3) Jets
    4) Cowboys
    5) Pats
    6-8) Bengals/Steelers/Ravens
    9) Browns - with Watson, they would have been 6.

Dolphins is based upon  decades of hating them.  They're also the team that non-Bills fans in Bills country seem to go to as anti-heros.

Chiefs are obvious because they've had our number in the post season and I'm jealous.

Jets have enough star power that they're very unlikeable despite being non-relevant for a while.

    Cowboys - f*ck them
Pats fell off fast enough that I rarely think of them.  That said, they're still in the division so they get a spot at the table

Bengals/Steelers/Ravens - respect them, but at the same time they're annoyingly always in the hunt.
