  1. The jersey Manuel is holding up at the draft has the collar from the '11 season and not that god awful white neck roll looking thing? I was reading about it on uni-watch then noticed the draft pictures. Looks like they and other teams have ditched it too. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-975XvOvAR98/UXy3xjICcCI/AAAAAAAAHCo/EJ74bpK_ixo/s1600/no+collars.jpg'>http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-975XvOvAR98/UXy3xjICcCI/AAAAAAAAHCo/EJ74bpK_ixo/s1600/no+collars.jpg And http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-975XvOvAR98/UXy3xjICcCI/AAAAAAAAHCo/EJ74bpK_ixo/s1600/no+collars.jpg Hallelujah!
  2. You are missing my point, yes it's hindsight but Watt went where he was should have and Locker/ Ponder went way before they should and Gabbert went about where he was supposed to at the time. I apologize for the hindsight but I'm only using it to prove that teams fall for the idea that if you don't have a QB and theres one you like, you need to take him as early as possible. There seems to be a trend of teams assuming that the best or next best QB available is the best player available and let their need cause them to fall in love with sub-par talent. Meanwhile better players fall to better teams and the rich get richer and the poor are stuck watching a sub par QB struggle on a bad team. As I said in another post why take EJ Manuel at 16 (whom Marrone says needs lots of work) if he can't even beat out Kevin Kolb in his rookie year. I want to see this team win and if they are going to take a QB in the first round he better be ready to play and not be a project with huge upside who might have been had later on. I want to also say that as hard as I've been on this pick I don't think Manuel is a bad pick I think its an irresponsible pick they paid to high a price for someone who is to too big of a risk. This is a luxury pick that should have been made by a good team looking to groom an heir apparent, I'm not making any friends with my opinions here and this isn't gonna help but this reminds me of the Aaron Maybin pick. A bad team taking a guy for his upside over his ability to contribute right away, teams don't get better that way.
  3. My nausea is telling me a couple things... 1. There were a lot of would's and could's supporting those "facts." 2. I don't see all five of those teams grabbing a QB 3. Even if there were 5 taken, I don't see much of a gap in the talent in the 1st and 6th Qbs available. That's my opinion not Kiper or McShay's, those guys aren't true evaluators because they factor in what they hear from outside sources, also they believe there was 1st rd talent at the QB position, I don't. Thank you though for being arrogant enough to assume that my opinions are just their regurgitations because they run counter to your own. Next time I do listen to someone, I'll seek out the knowledge and experience of the guy with 5 billion posts on a message board because that's where the "facts" reside.
  4. Is that acceptable to you as a fan? We don't have a good Qb so were going to pass over actual talent and take one because that's "how drafting QBs goes." It isn't to me. I'm sure the titans and Jags could find somebody to play just as good as Locker/ Gabbert while JJ Watt is playing for them instead of kicking their teeth in twice a year. A legit QB talent can drastically change a franchise but taking one in the first round does not make him a franchise QB. Those teams are hurting because they bought in to the myth of 'if you don't have one, you gotta get one' and forced themselves to fall in love with guys that weren't that talented and passed on guys who were and that's what buffalo did.
  5. That would have been the best thing to happen to the Bills. They could have gotten on the phone and moved back some, the 49ers moved up to 18 and falcons to 22. My overarching theme of this post though, is that they were the only team that didn't know that no one else was going to move back, trade up, or stay put to take one of these Qbs in the first round. Also that these QBs are not that good and whomever you pick is only going to be as succesful as the situation they go into. I'd rather have Eifert and Justin Rodgers to go along with whatever qb was left I don't care if its Glennon or Jones whether its at 46 or the 7th rd over a project with terrible accuracy that wont play this year.I would also bet big money that Barkley, Nassib or both are sitting there at 46. Look at Cincinatti compared to Buffalo right now, I like Dareus but had they taken AJ Green instead Fitz might be the Bills QB still because guys like that make middling QBs look good. That's what is happening with the bengals right now, they have a nice qb but not an elite one so what do they do? they team him with Green, and instead of a being content with one good WR like buffalo, they draft another one (Sanu) and even though they have a good TE in Gresham they grab Eifert too. So as much as I am crapping on EJ Manuel there is hope he can be a player, but you don't take a QB at 16 if he isnt going to beat out Kevin Kolb or Tavaris Jackson right away when there is talent to be had at positions of need that can help this horrible team right now.
  6. That was his team today. If the bills didn't want Smith, and the jets didn't take him either, and at 16 the bills were the last team with a QB need, why wouldn't they take someone they can use right away instead of rolling the dice like the incompetent dolts that they are? Even I knew as soon as the jets didn't take Geno that there wouldn't be a QB taken in rd 1. Within about 3 minutes after the jets pick I had the QB scenario figured out for rd2. A. Trade up to 31/32 to grab a QB ahead of the next team that needs one (jax) which I understand isn't Rd 2 but almost. B. Since the Eagles were the other team with strong interest in Manuel, and the Bills felt they had to have him you trade ahead of them to 34 with SF. Or I believe this is the best option, C. You take whatever Qb is available at that point because they are all pretty much Projects or guys who might be ready but have low ceilings, and don't they have to give up a pick to do so. None of the QBs available could start for for the Bills or any other team this year, no QBs were good enought to be drafted day 1 and only one team was incompetent enought to not know it. Oh, and of all the projects, they took the one who needs the most time to develop. Way to go morons you panicked and panicked hard, get your F'ing heads out of the sand and look at whats going on around you. Like the Broncos in '11 you didn't need to make this pick and it was obvious to everyone but you. Hey buddy, better get some linemen tomorrow to protect Kolb, Jackson, Korp and whatever retreads you bring in to play for the next 5 years until EJ is ready to go. This pick makes me wanna f'ing puke.
  7. Unless you meant that his gums got more airtime than Elway himself he had the most SB appearances. Elway 5 SB (2 wins) 86, 87, 89, 97, 98.
  8. 1. Barkley, but not at #8. 2. Smith, Wilson. 3. Glennon. If they don't have a guy in the first 3 rounds I don't care what round they get someone. in order of preference from rd 3 on. Jones Nassib Manuel Bray After these guys there's nobody that I believe is worth drafting at this point in their development.
  9. This is my favorite all-time SB ad and it never gets mentioned, ever. From Broncos v. Packers or Broncos v. Falcons I give you "Evil Beaver."
  10. Have one, although not a big jersey wearer I'll partake for Bills games and the Super Bowl and Since I will not wear Bills gear for the Super Bowl until they go again, Tillman has been my go to SB jersey.
  11. So based on this past success; is it safe to say that Glenn will be wearing green and eating cheese steaks in the city of brotherly love come contract time?
  12. 1. Meh 2. EeeIdontknokay 3. Good 4. Woo! 5. Disappointed 6. Depends on what they give up, but would love to have him. 7. Mother F#cker!!!!!
  13. I'm seeing 10 wins on this schedule, not counting jets or pats, which are can always be up in the air.
  14. Just read a few of the news stories about this and am just wondering, are any of you are any of you as annoyed as I am to hear a clamoring for a domed/retractable roof stadium? Personally I would love a downtown venue, as long as there is enough parking/ tailgating space and a better or at least equal (to the ralph) traffic situation to and from the game. I realize what it could create some vigor in the city as a multi-use facility, but as a Bills fan I can't help but be selfish and only think of what it means to me as a fan. If there is a roof, in my opinion it will close in November and not open til May, I hope I'm wrong about this, but Ive rarely seen teams with retractable roofs keep them open in the cold. Especially in the Super Bowl even in warm areas like AZ and Houston where the roofs are for when it's too hot, the NFL chose to keep them shut. And in Toronto a few years ago the players wanted to open the roof in December and it didnt happen. So what I'm selfish about as a fan is this, there is a mystique about the Bills that goes beyond the players and organization, the harsh weather and grizzled, maniac fans who withstand it and enjoy it through thick and thin have been the true Identity of this team and I'd hate to lose it so that an RV or boat show can come through town. One more thought... Of these 5 cities who has the worst weather? Minneapolis, Cleveland, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, New York, Chicago. Of those cities whose football team is never in the conversation as having the best fans? Hint: the answer to both questions is the team that plays under a roof.
