  1. "McGahee will take over for Travis." Clearly people who thought this were wrong. Travis has not played great football, yet Willis is still stuck on the sidelines. I have to believe it's more because Willis just isn't ready rather than our coaches being stubborn.
  2. I second everything about this post except moving McGee to FS.
  3. Amen to that. Nick...that was AWESOME. And you used my absolute favorite song of the 1990s too.
  4. This is this year's Boston's team doing something against a team other than the Yankees, so NO it doesn't matter. You said the Yankees were in trouble next week, implying that the Red Sox were going to play New York next week. The fact is, only one, or neither, team could be in the ALCS. The only baseball crap I've seen today has been started by you, so don't go blaming Yankee fans.
  5. OK, let me get this straight. Last year (or previous years) do not matter, but the Red Sox (with Curt Schilling on the mound) beating the Angels (with Jared Washburn) on the mound) today matters in a Yankee-Red Sox game that may or may not be played next week? This makes no sense. But I'm not surprised by this.
  6. Bill, While I don't necessarily agree that he is overrated (only because I'm not sure he is rated that high across the league), I do agree that he is simply not good enough to warrant the kind of money he is going to demand, and the kind of money some sucker is going to give him. I also agree, as I have said before, that he is headed to Atlanta the day free agency begins. And you're right...the guy gets hurt way too much for my liking. I looked at the play that knocked him out of Sunday's game, and I just didn't see anything that doesn't happen to offensive linemen on every play. Maybe he got hit just the right way, I don't know. Unless he wants to sign a contract for what he's really worth (which I think is the market value for an above average but not great tackle), I say let him walk.
  7. BF...it was 8-3. Izzy gave up a run in the ninth. Hope, for your sake, that's not a sign of things to come. Just kidding.
  8. Disasters 1. Miami 2. San Francisco 3. New Orleans 4. Buffalo His comment on Buffalo: "Well, if you listen to the Bills' fans and media, the world is coming to an end. The truth? This will be a good team." What's not totally clear is, is he talking about this season? Other Bills-related stuff: Best Players 1. Tom Brady: The Buffalo Bills ran 16 blitzes Sunday against Brady, who got the ball off 16 times, some for big plays. He gets it. Best Rookies 4. Erik Coleman, Jets safety. A fifth-rounder from Washington State, he's already a presence with two interceptions and a bunch of tackles. I might be wrong, but wasn't a regular on this board (R. Rich?) saying we should pick this guy back in April? Whoever it was, good call.
  9. Exactly. You could have driven a truck through that hole. But as Buffalo Bills luck would have it, Henry slipped. I haven't watched five plays of a Giants game this year, but I just read about how well their offensive line has been playing. Maybe it wasn't McNally after all?
  10. To the tune of Fight For Your Right (To Party) You yell for Drew to move, but he's just too slow And while lying on his back he can't make a throw. The line can't block, backs can't pick up the blitz Josh Reed ain't no good, and the tight ends are the pits. Watching this team...makes me drink....BA-CARDI. Now watching this team is such a drag Instead of playbooks, our guys read porno mags My wife busts in and yells "What's that noise?!" Oh honey, it's me yelling about another loss for the boys. Watching this team...makes me drink....BA-CARDI. I'll kick you out of the Ralph if that's the uniforms you're gonna wear I wish Mr. Wilson would fire the GM with the stupid silver hair. A couple of free agents don't make up for poor drafts After each game I don't know whether to cry or laugh. Watching this team...makes me drink....BA-CARDI. (OK...I don't think I'll be in the sequel for 8 Mile, but I thought this soundtrack needed a little rap, so we could appeal to our younger audience.)
  11. Hey Bill...About the Travis Gump remark you've made 3,548 times since Sunday....everyone who reads this board knows you don't like Travis. Move on. Oh, and by the way, Gump was one hell of a runner, so it doesn't make sense to compare Gump with Travis based on your low opinion of Travis. You may not think either of them were very smart, so maybe that's where your Travis Gump originates from. But the Bills don't pay Travis to be smart. They pay him (first and foremost) to run the football, and he does that quite well, thank you very much. Travis has his problems and his mistakes certainly aren't helping our chances. But there are no fewer than 20 bigger problems with this team than our starting running back, so please give an opinion on something else for a change.
  12. Trade Henry? Trade Moulds!? Look, both of those guys have made their share of boneheaded mistakes this season. For being our supposed stars on the offensive side of the ball, they sure do miss a lot of blocks, run the wrong routes, drop passes, etc. BUT....at least they bring something to the table in terms of ACTUAL PRODUCTION. Other teams would jump at the chance to get either of these players. Problem is, no other team in the league thinks much, if anything, of another skill player on our team. Two players can't carry an entire offense, especially when they make the number of mistakes Eric and Travis make. But trading EM and TH leaves us with....nothing. What would we get in return, draft picks? HA HA HA....great. I'm sure Tom will make good use out of those picks. Maybe we can get another Coy Wire or another Ryan Denney or another Josh Reed. Or maybe he can trade those draft picks away and get another Mark Campbell. There's a reason why Willis McGahee doesn't play. He's not ready. I'm curious to see what he will be able to do next September. If he regains the form he once had, then we look into trading Travis so we can upgrade another position. Until Willis proves he can come all the way back, you don't trade one of only two guys on the offense who does something positive, no matter how many times he slips. Christ....you think our offense is terrible now. Imagine it without Eric and Travis. The bottom line is this team is filled with a bunch of losers. They are in the habit of losing, and that's a tough habit to break. Much like the Pats find ways to win, the Bills find ways to lose. Plain and simple.
  13. Missed the opportunity to trade Travis Henry? OK Bill....everyone gets it. You don't like Travis Henry. Travis could go for 215 yards and four touchdowns and you'd B word about him. Willis can't even get on the field. Maybe that should tell you something: HE'S NOT READY. Barring a setback, he'll be ready by the start of the 2005 season. Therefore, you don't trade Travis Henry. He's too good of a player at way too good of a price. He had 98 yards today. If he gets 98 yards every week, his trade value, should TD decide that's what he wants to do, will be very high. B word about someone else besides Travis. There's plenty of people worthy of your criticism, and much more deserving on top of that.

  15. Good point. Travis has heard he lacked explosiveness and that his career was going to be cut short because his body wouldn't be able to hold up against all the punishment he takes with his style of running. The Bills take another RB and Travis changes his body makeup and, to some extent, his running style. Now he's not as tough of a grinder as he used to be, and while he's faster, he still doesn't have the big-time speed. And apparently Willis isn't ready. Surely he would see more playing time if he was truly ready. Right? I watch the Colts a lot and the difference between Edgerrin this year and Edgerrin last year is enormous. Maybe this is an injury that really takes two years to recover from. We'll see what Willis has next year, and while I expect his role to expand this year, I don't think (barring injury) Mularkey has big plans for Willis in 2004.
  16. BF....there is nothing outrageous about that post. There isn't one team among the eight that qualified for the postseason who don't have a shot at winning the whole thing. There shouldn't be anything about the postseason that comes as a surprise to anyone. Any team could get swept in the first round, and any team could be getting their fingers sized for World Series rings. Each team has its strengths and weakness. That includes your Cardinals, which means you should find nothing funny about someone predicting an NLCS loss by the Red Birds.
  17. Yep....TD is the biggest bust of them all.
  18. Sadly, this message board is a reflection of the team you went to see play today.
  19. And while we're at it.... #82... BUST I'm watching the Rams and I see guys named Kevin Curtis and Shaun McDonald catch balls, make plays and even score a touchdown. How come there are a dozen threads from people pissed at Travis Henry, and there's hardly anything at all about Josh Reed. Travis has his shortcomings but at least the guy contributes something. Josh Reed is worthless.
  20. If I had to guess, we were going for the end zone on that play. If Travis was supposed to get the ball, he would have turned around and been looking for Drew and wondering what the hell happened. That's not what took place. He went left and was either going to attempt to block somebody or release in the flats. Just from looking at Bledsoe's body language, I think the play was designed to go to the end zone. As usual, we are left to wonder about the ifs. If Travis didn't slip, we wouldn't have been in a fourth down spot. If we weren't offsides on the field goal, we would have kicked the game-tying field and not had to go for it on fourth down.
  21. The first person who raves about Josh Reed catching everything in training camp next year should be shot. I've heard it three years in a row now and each year I've entered the season thinking he was going to be better than he actually was. I'm done with Josh Reed....fu**ing Training Camp All-American. H
