  1. I would like to see either Everette Brown or Rey Maualuga in the first. While I think the O Line IS a glaring need, a pass rusher on the D would see a lot more impact than a new center. That being said, our round 2 pick should be a center. The top few center prospects look pretty good and one of them will likely drop to our spot in the 2nd. Between Brown and Maualuga, i would make the decision based on moves in free agency. One of those two positions should be addressed before the draft comes.
  2. Yeah our Defense only gave up 13 points, but I'd say that's mostly the weather as opposed to the stout play of our D. We just had bad plays occur and the worst times on offense... the entire end of the 2nd quarter... the fumble... not covering Wes Welker on 4th and 5... robert royal dropping passes... That being said helluva game to Fred Jackson! It'd be pretty awesome to see an offense that implemented both Jackson and Lynch on the field at the same time. However if this were to be the case I'd like to see Lynch improve his pass blocking and catching (both out of the backfield and from slot).
  3. I would normally be worried that this would mess with Trent's psyche for the rest of the game, but luckily we only have a potential of 8:30 for him to throw it.
  4. it's bad when i don't get upset over a turnover anymore
  5. I wouldn't say WIDE open, but open enough for the NFL, Edwards could and should have put it in there.
  6. clock management falls to the coach... and this was a piss poor display. That being said, the play calling wasn't helping either, nor was the hustle of the players. All in all a poor showing.
  7. GO FREDDY GO FREDDY GO! we need to give him the ball 80% of our offensive plays today.
  8. if the ball is only going to be thrown to the line of scrimmage anyways, why not try a screen or something, at least give the guy catching the ball a couple blockers.
  9. Would be a great philosophy if our offense would have a chance to get the ball... and could actually score. Unfortunately it looks like field goals may be enough to beat us this week.
  10. ????? run on 3rd and 11 with the wind? we won't have a lot of opportunities with the wind today...
  11. it's hard to believe! nice recovery on the play by Leodis
  12. if we can hold them to 7 with the wind, i'll consider that a good quarter
  13. We need to address either the DE or OLB in FA, and the other should go towards our first round pick. I don't think the gap between Mack and the other top centers coming into the draft are as large as some people think. I'm a fan of the physical play of Caldwell myself and I'm praying he's available when we pick in the 2nd.
  14. I can't wait! Regardless of whether or not TE is the answer, JP is definitely not... at least not in Buffalo. I hope the guy does well wherever he ends up. I'm going to root for TE, or Hamdon, or whoever the hell else they find to put in at QB. As long as that person can lead to more W's. Was I the only person who, on the second play of the game when TE fumbled, thought "My god TE has a great JP impression!"
  15. Trent didn't make the big mistakes this week that have been occurring since our 5-1 start. I don't think that means he finally came of age. This was another team with a weak defense that TE did OK against. I'm definitely a TE supporter, but what I saw today didn't make me think he's suddenly ready to go against a top notch defense. All of our division games this year have shown that we need improvement, especially with the decision making of our QB position. This week against the Pats* will be a real test... don't let this game go to your head like so many of them did earlier this year (to a majority of us!).
  16. Dean, you just keep taking the words out of my mouth. 100% correct.
  17. I do have to admit something... once I saw JP roll out I thought "god i hope he doesn't do something stupid" then he fumbled and i laughed. I didn't laugh because it happened to JP. I didn't laugh because I like to lose. I laughed because it is SO the Bills to give up a game that they have control of. It reminds me of the football bloopers of the old Tampa Bay teams.
  18. Because there is simply no fathomable way that the defense breaks through the line (like it did) and force an early throw. There is more downside to this call than upside. There could be that early incomplete pass. There could be an interception. There could be a fumble. If we just run the ball, there is only the fumble option. It was the smarter, safer option as far as just play calling goes. Then when you take into account the personnel involved, this should be a no brainer. I said it earlier, but I think people need a refresher... to say that it is a good play call because JPL did good on the last drive is foolish. We've watched this player develop for 5 years and he has NEVER shown any consistency.... actually i take that back. He is quite consistent in taking sacks, fumbling, and throwing interceptions when the game is on the line. Today was simply more evidence of that.
  19. So because Losman had one decent drive, we go away from what's working the entire game and on this possession? I don't buy it. I agree that it is situational coaching, but this situation has JP Losman. He has proven time and again that he can't maintain ball possession consistently. Not only that, but even on that 'sterling' drive of his he still wasn't consistent with the short pass. If they were really playing to win the game, Losman would have taken a step back and given the ball to Lynch. Maybe you can explain where your faith in JP is coming from and why you think he could have done anything different from what he usually does at the end of a game. He either takes a sack, fumbles, or throws a pick. That is JP Losman. He has never proven he will do more than that.
  20. JP was looking at add to his 'highlight reel' for the offseason... I don't agree with the play call for several reasons. 1. JP Losman is an awful player and for no reason should have the game resting in his hands. 2. Lynch and Jackson have been busting up that 4th ranked run defense all game... why go away from it? 3. Assuming that Losman does read that nobody is open and throws it away... if it's before the 2 minute warning we have to run another play before it... and if they stop us one more time they have the ball with just under 2 minutes left and 2 time outs. Yeah, there are a lot of "if's" with number 3, but with the way our season has been going can you fault me for that? This is just another situation where Turk has proved he is in his first (and hopefully last) year as OC.
