  1. So right now, you'd rather one of our current "qb's" drop back 35 times, miss over half the passes, take 3-5 sacks and turn the ball over 2 times?
  2. The stat that bothers me the most in this game is 38 passes vs. 25 rushes. Lynch was having a pretty decent game despite the 1 fumble (16 for 134) and from what I saw ("watching" from the game center) seemed to be more consistent than both Edwards (10/21 112) and Losman (11/17 93). After he busted out the 50 yard run at 10:53 left in the third, he ran the ball four times (-3,14,6,1)... really? Our defense shut them out in the second half... we were two scores down, only one after RL was actually able to make a FG and we give our premier back, who is doing a pretty good job slicing up this defense, the ball FOUR TIMES. Instead of letting our franchise back carry the team we give it to our inconsistent backup QB? I wasn't expecting much out of Losman, and 11/17 for 93 is what I'd hope from him. Sure he had a couple of untimely sacks, but that's nothing new... I'm just at a loss... why not let lynch dominate this game?
  3. That's a tough decision. Which is the priority, linemen who will help keep our offense on the field or linemen who will help get our defense off the field? 'They' say defense wins championships, but even the best defenses get tired.
  4. You hit the nail on the head. Blame has been placed on the run game and on Trent. Both rely on the O-Line. Tom Brady has ALWAYS had a good O-Line, and seeing yesterdays game PROVES a good line is the key to a win. Cassel had protection and mr 4th string could run all day. Are they elite players? Is it a coincidence that no matter who is passing or running behind that line is succeeding? I'm not saying Trent and Lynch are off the hook, both have been coming in well below expectations these last few weeks. I'd like to see Trent audible out of plays that the defense is clearly ready for and I'd like to see Lynch hit a hole before dancing (assuming there is a hole there). The coaches are ALSO to blame (wow, so much blame to spread around you'd think it were a team sport). They are simply not adjusting to what they see. When the line has been blocking like it has, we have no business having receivers run long developing routes. "BUT THEN THEY WON'T RESPECT THE DEEP BALL AND PACK IN THEIR DEFENSE!!!!" yeah, but you see that's where a coach is supposed to ADJUST.
  5. it only works if they actually bring the blitz once in a while - as opposed to toying with our emotions of actually having a pass rush for a down
  6. The Bills D vs. Seattle compared to the D for the rest of the year is like night and day. I don't know why PF is afraid to bring the blitz, but when done it's brought a lot of success this year. Watching seven guys stack the line and Hassleback trying to figure out who was actually coming - it was great. Sure, it was Seattle and there are much better lines in the league, but it can still cause some confusion for the QB.
  7. oh emmit, how i still loathe thee I have to say I'm still not convinced the bills are an elite team in the league, but that doesn't mean they won't have a good record this year. They are a young team and will the the product of their schedule. However, I can only see potential because of this! A young team racking up wins, building confidence, developing a feel for one another... by the end of the year, they have the potential to look like the elites. For now, lets face it, the teams they have played are a combined 3-6. Not all that impressive as numbers go. I'd like to see more of a quality win at home against a totally dysfunctional Oakland team, and hope to see that next step this week against an even worse St. Louis team. It feels weird to say it, but playing against a seemingly improved Arizona team will be a good test for the team just before the bye week. It may be a good indicator as to what the Bills will be able to due for a tougher second half of the season. Is it good for anyone else to be able to complain about the quality of the win?
