  1. I dont care what he did personally it wasnt that serious nobody says sh-- to peyton manning or brett farve for hunting no thats fine i forgot its legal but its killing animals...id love that mofo on the bills as insurance for trent "fragile" edwards...the wild cat wit fred "monster" jackson to the left mike "killer" vick in the middle and marshawn "the beast" lynch to the right we could call it the nightmare offense (hate it or love it) come on forget all the statements you guys sayin cuz you dont like mike oh well get over it he killled some dogs went to jail and now he want to get his life back...let the man make his self better...got damn....:doh:

You sound incredibly dumb. "Mofo", "Wit", "He want to"..you sound like someone who's opinion I want to take seriously. Comparing hunting to dogfighting is the pinnacle ignorance. Good luck "wit dat" gangsta!

  2. When I first started drinking wine, in my late teens, and very early twenties, I drank a lot of German kabinett/spatlese/auslese wines. Not my cup-o-tea, now, but not a bad way to get introduced to wine.

Wow, German reisling talk on TBD! I like the occasional Spatlese, especially on thanksgiving. The whole contrast between the sweet and the acidic gets me everytime. I would have been much happier to see Donte tippin back a Cotes du Rhone or a big Cali Cab...OH MY GOD, I GOT SUCKED INTO THE GAYNESS TOO!!!!!!!!!!

  3. I didn't hear any of that. I heard he authorized the dogs be put down. There's a big difference between giving the okay over a cell phone to put a dog down and physically hanging or electrocuting the dog. The the latter is true then I am with you. But until I hear further, I am going to stick with what I've heard.

Regardless, what Vick did is wrong. But human beings make mistakes, everyone (with limited exception) deserves a chance at redemption.

It's amazing that you would be so opinionated yet so illinformed. He authorized dogs to be killed and he did the killing, which he admitted to only after he failed a lie detector test. Moreover, HE FUNDED THE ENTIRE OPERATION!!!!!

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3718304

Your logic about the cell phone is crazy by the way. So if someone calls in a hit or does the hit, one is worse than the other? And yes, people make mistakes. People also do horrible evil sh*t too. He took part in the torture and funded an entire operation that killed and tortured dogs. Thats not a mistake, that is some cold blooded sh*t.

  4. Wow, glad to see you believe in forgiveness. You must be Christian!

I'm not sure what the "Christian" comment meant but it doesn't offend me but I'm sure it will offend others on this board.

I don't believe in forgiveness for those who only seek forgiveness once they are caught. Here is some of what he did:

The report also states in mid-April of 2007, Vick, Peace and Phillips hung approximately three dogs who did not perform well in a "rolling session," which indicates the readiness of a dog to fight. According to the report, the three men hung the dogs "by placing a nylon cord over a 2 X 4 that was nailed to two trees located next to the big shed. They also drowned approximately three dogs by putting the dogs' heads in a five gallon bucket of water."

Drowning a dog in a bucket. Hanging with a nylon chord. It didn't mention the electrocutions or the "rape"stands or the dogs that he raised simply to be torn apart by his prize fighters. Then, once he was caught he blamed his family. Thats just a snipet of what this sub-human scumbag did. I'm sure his bad side stops there though! You can forgive him, I will be rooting for him to fail miserably.

  5. I can't wait to watch him fail. Let's not forget that he killed dogs. Not by gunshot or injection, but by drowning, electrocution and hanging. He is a sub-human scumbag who's sociopathic ways came back to bite him in the ass (Hopefully prison ----- him in the ass too!). Any team that picks him up is making a deal with the devil and that never works. Burn in hell Mike Vick!

  6. Let's assume for now that the stats you throw out are absolutely correct. If Peters sucks so bad then whay are the following true:

    • The players and coaches who vote for the probowl have the same stats available to them. They seem not to put much weight on them.
The Bills cut Dockery in an admission that he was a failure - do you suppose any of the sacks assigned to peters may have had something to do with Dockery's poor play?
The Bills have not shopped Peters in any trade scenario. People on this board have suggested they should, the media in other NFL cities have tried to speculate the Bills might. Bottom line is that the Bills have not.
Even during his holdout the Bills office never questioned his play. They also did not following the season. They did let their starting center(s) and LG go.
The Bills could have signed Peters to a much lower contract had they gotten busy this time last offseason. I do not doubt that missiing camp and OTA's had an effect on Peters play. the Bills are as responsible as Peters for this situation.

Let's get off this trade Peters BS and get him signed.

Again, you and the rest of "Pay Peters Camp" are right. He will get paid but it won't be by the Bills at his asking price. Did you guys forget who signs the checks at OBD? The highest paid player in Bills history will not be JPeters, so get used to #71 in a different uniform.

  7. Is he worth $11 mil/year today? Probably not. And, honestly, I don't think it is going to take $11 mil/year to get him signed. I would make it POSSIBLE for him to get top LT$, but if the two sides are $3 mill apart, I'm guessing there is a deal to be made somewhere in the middle. As long as the guaranteed money (bonus) isn't astronomically high, then what's the real risk?

Also, if Peters really is the real deal, in the early stages of his career, $11 mil will be a bargain, in a few years...and the Bills might be looking to re-do his contract once again. Top draft picks who have yet to play ONE down in the NFL are getting seriously big money to play Left Tackle. If the Bills don't give it to Peters, and draft a LT at #11, he will get a very big contract (much bigger than Peter's current deal)...he won't get $11 million, right away as a #11 pick...but, remember, he also could be a total flop.

We already know Peters can play in the NFL at a very high level. I don't understand risking the season by letting him go over a few million dollars, only to spend multiple millions on an unknown. The only way I would trade Jason Peters is if another high-quality LT came in return. Of course, that LT is either making, or will want, really big $$, too, now or in the near future.

Why I think you're giving a little to much credit to Peters, YOU"RE RIGHT! But that little 2,3,4 million dollar gap per year is signicant when we are discussing the Bills. If he were an Cowboy I would be saying, just pay the guy! But these are the Buffalo Bills and spending 10% of the cap on a guy who is good, not great, is just not going to happen. Maybe I'm just preparing myself for the inevitable, a large hole at LT.

  8. Yes, after not attending camp, or playing on one preseason game, Peters had a sub-par year and allowed many more sacks than he has ever allowed in his career.

    Your point?

I would think the best answer is to get his contract done, and get his ass into camp, so he can go back to being a rising star at Left Tackle.

GD , I am trying to have an office/admin day and this board is killing it!

I agree The Dean, but has he shown enough to justify an 11-12/per contract? I don't think anyone is saying that he's not good, but is he great? Will the Bills be greatly overpaying for him at his asking price? I say there is almost no way to argue that they will be overpaying by alot. Look what overpaying players has gotten us, no pass rush and former soft LG.

  9. I'm well over 30 and still play video games, and yes I get laid. I also target shoot, scuba dive, weight lift, and read extensively. In addition I collect lead soldiers and paint my own. I used to play Avalon Hill games but lately I've drifted away from that.

    What's my point?

Bite me if you don't like it.

You are truly the Da Vinci of TBD!

  10. Well said Thurm. Why does every network isolate on Peters matchup with a replay? Maybe its because most of the positive plays are run to his side. The fact I rely is what I see with my own eyes. Peters shoves around his man again and again. Jason Peters is the best football player on this team. Is he better with camp and conditioning? Of course. I do know he and every otherlineman gives up a lot less sacks when Edwards is playing QB vs JP. That is a fact.

Again, is he worth 11-12 million per?

  11. Ben of Iowa City writes: What do you think about the Packers taking Andre Smith at the 9th spot? They desperately need an OT, and Smith was a monster 3 straight years at Alabama. I'm willing to forgive his combine mishap. Is Ted Thompson? In my opinion, the Packers have to take him, do you agree?

Kevin Seifert: I think that's going to be one of the NFC North's questions as we head down the home stretch before the draft. The Packers' short- and long-term needs at tackle have been well-documented, with Chad Clifton seemingly nearing the end of his career and Mark Tauscher's left knee a question mark. I'm sure Thompson would like to add a big-time pass-rusher for the 3-4 defense, but everyone agrees Smith is immensely talented. If all things were equal, he'd be off the board by No. 9. I know there are concerns about his departure from the combine, but to me the biggest concern is that he was still in pretty average shape for his pro day. The Packers have a really, really difficult decision to make here.

    http://myespn.go.com/blogs/nfcnorth/0-9-13...nd-Mailbag.html

OJSimpson said it best, even after the combine BS he still will be picked high. Why? Because at the end of the day, the tape doesn't show his minny meltdown, it shows him dominating Greg Hardy, Sapp and Dunlap.

  12. A lousy year. Yup. Did you notice that he missed training camp? Think that might have something to do with it?

And every time somebody posts this same set of stats - I'd guess it's been done 175 times, but I might well have missed a hundred or so - I invite the person to post the same stats for the year before. Strangely, not one person has taken me up on that. So, I'll invite you, UBBULL, and the OP, THEDRIZZ, to get up the guts and the energy to post the same stats for 2007. Come on, if you have the stones.

Of course, I don't expect that you will, because that would show what Peters can do when he DOES go to training camp.

So showing up completely out of shape and unprepared is okay because he missed training camp? This ain't Baseball where guys get fat and then come to spring training to get into shape. Football, because of it's physical nature takes a year round conditioning effort. So who's fault is it that he didn't show up? He has one good season and all of a sudden he's Anthony Munoz and wants to get paid like a great LT?

I think the easy way to get to the core of this argument and be as objective as possible is to simply ask the question, Does Jason Peters deserve the 11-12 million per year that he is wants?

I say no because a guy that gets paid like that should be an absolute game changer. I think Peters is good but he is not even close to what Pace, Ogden or Jones were in their prime. And since those 3 guys are/were his great contemporaries he should be judged against them and he's not even close.

  13. T.O 1100yds 10 TDs

    Lee 1300yds 14 TDs

    Roscoe 600yds 6 TDs

    Reed 500yds 3 TDs

    Lock it up

The reason (besides some glaring talent issues) is we haven't had a legit #2 in a long ass time. Name one team without a #2 where a #1 has over 1000 yds

So Edwards is gonna throw for 3500 yds and 33TD's to JUST his 1-4 WR's?

  14. If you're 30+ and playing video games, consider yourself ahead of the curve.

By the time people my age (24) are in their 30's, a much higher concentration will still be gaming.

By the time people 12 years and younger are in their 30's, video games will be a part of he lives of just about everybody under the age of 60, largely because of how they will have evolved by then.

I've Simmed/Super Simmed my way through six post-2009 seasons now, but made FA signings and trades that weren't necessarily fantastical, but definitely some bold moves. Since my squad has made it to the Super Bowl or the AFC Championship in 4 of those 6 years, I usually draft LATE in the first round, which makes first rounders easy to part with in trades.

I haven't added T.O. to any of the rosters yet.

Check that H20, you may have competition.

  15. OK, I'm 30+ and I still play video games. I admit it. :( I simulated a season with the updated roster on NCAA 09 which had the updated player ratings of all the prospects for the draft. I then exported and saved the draft class. I put in the Madden game a few days later and simulated a season to get to the draft. This is what happened:

Marcus Freeman was a top 5 prospect at OLB, that was a surprise. Stafford and Freeman were top 5 prospects with Sanchez coming in as a 2nd. Laraunitis was the highest rated MLB and just a 1st round prospect. Aaron Curry was rated as a 1st-2nd. Maualuga was rated as a 3rd round prospect and he was one of the highest rated players on NCAA 09. Robert Ayers was the highest rated DE in the draft as a top 10 prospect. Everett Brown was a 1st. Orakpo was a 3rd, Maybin was a 3rd, Barwin was a 3rd, English was a 3rd, and so was Shaughnessy. Crabtree was rated a 1st, but not top 10. Same for DHB, Harvin, Maclin, Nicks, and Britt. Oher was the highest rated OT as a top 10 pick. Monroe and Andre Smith were 1st round prospects also. The rest of the guys filled out in the 2nd and beyond. Luigs came in as the highest rated C prospect along with Unger in the 2nd-3rd rating. Caldwell, Wood, and Mack were all 3rd round prospects. Pettigrew and Cook were rated as 2nd-3rd round prospects with the other "most mentioned" coming in between the 3rd and 6th. Raji, Jerry, Hood, Brace, and the rest of the DT's didn't even show up as prospects until the 2nd-3rd. The corners were pretty much rated the same way they are now with the order being Davis, Jenkins, Butler, Macho Harris(exception), and Alphonso Smith all spreading out over the first 2 rounds. Patrick Chung came out the highest rated S, but was only a 3rd prospect. Herman Johnson and Duke Robinson were the highest rated OG's with the 2nd round prospect label. That's about all I can remember.

I just found it pretty funny the way the DE's showed up. Most of the others had higher ratings than Ayers except for Barwin and English. I know, I know, but I found it a little interesting.

I have you rated #1 overall in the "needs to get laid" category.

  16. Great post. You have nailed TBD scouting perfectly. Personally, I think a better comparison for Smith is Warren Sapp. Different positions and different infractions but same level college performance. Both of these players suffered from a little immaturity at the wrong time. Some team is going to luck out and grab him later than he should go, IMO.

Good call, except Sapp's vice was Chronic and Smith's seems to be doughnuts.

  17. If I was a rock star NFL player I'd live in Toronto as well. Buffalo is a crappy place to be unless you are married and raising kids, then the burbs are ok ... nice neighborhoods, etc. still dull as can be though unless you have family there, etc. ... can't imagine a dsingle guy there

Actually being a single guy in Buffalo is great because it's really easy to pick up chicks when all of the other guys that you're competing against are wearing Bills Zubaz. :(

  18. Thankyou!! Andre Smith can't even be compare him to Mike Williams. Smith can be a great player in this league and could be truly dominant. There is a reason people think he is a top 12 pick even after his antics.

Bills fans live in this myopic little world where every pass rusher has to be Bruce, every charachter guy is Phill Hansen and every QB from California is a burnout loser with long hair. Anyone who has watched an Alabama game in the last 3 years knows what Andre Smith can do. Are there charachter issues? Of course there are... for him and every other prospect. Mike Williams never came close to what Smith's done on the field but because the tub of lard was the Bill's most famous bust, Andre Smith is his clone.

  19. ya, and have you seen the rack on Andre Smith?

    impressive

Again, take off the shirts of 90% of the offensive lineman in the NFL and it will not be impressive. Hell, I bet you got teets! The guy dominated in the best conference in football for 3 years. He came into college as the most hyped OL in years and he did nothing but exceed expectation.
