I think 6-8 mil gets Wagner in here.  Worth it, especially if we plan on drafting a non-day 1 started at MLB

We have 9 mil according to Beane.  That is for draft picks and FA rookies (3.5 last year). That also doesn’t include any spring/summer/fall FAs.
I don’t know how we can afford that unless you want to keep restructuring and kicking the can down the road.  Like Beane said, eventually you’ll have to pay.  I don’t think Wagner, who is very good, is worth it. We still need a verteran RB too and a guy like Tranquil would come cheaper and he’s young

    Wagner or draft Jack Campbell

    Wagner will be too expensive.
I’ve always liked Drue Tranqeull’s game dating back to his days at ND.
Drew Sanders is a guy who is a lot like Edmunds coming out.  Tall, lanky and very good speed.  5 star kid coming out got stuck outside behind Anderson at Bama, transfers to Arky and moves inside.  All Sec and some AA teams. True Junior so he’s young.

RB market is bottoming out. Top of the FA market is $6.25M AAV (not including Saquon Barkley’s FT). Third highest AAV is $4M. Many RBs making big money are being shopped or cut. It’s already a buyer’s market so players like Singletary will be signing cheaply or not at all.

Love it go get Harris on the cheap and see if you can get one healthy season out of him.  He can do it all when healthy

Where were you in 2012? 2009? Don't play ignorant. This is a much better team with much better leadership. Same mofos that would have sold their kid for a wildcard appearance out here like "we keep making the playoffs, but clearly the team is run by degenerates". Seriously, stop....lol

    How am I playing ignorant?
So we’re competing against the utter incompetence of Buddy Nix And Doug Whaley?

Look bud, You can be happy wearing your AFCE Championship T Shirt to work on Bills day but I’m not.

By any measure, we’ve massively underachieved 3 years in a row. This year Beane’s putrid draft record was exposed when nobody he drafted could step up.
But it sure does feel good to own a bunch of sh!tty teams in the AFCE!

This is ridiculous. You are ridiculous. You are losing faith in "these guys"? You mean our GM and staff? We have been in the playoffs repeatedly. Its fine to say maybe we could do better here or there, I mean we are all only human. But losing faith in a team that has turned around this franchise and turned it into a repeat contender? I almost went with consistent, but I will hold that word one more year.

We’ve been to one AFCG in 4 years and got blown out.  So contending for what exactly?

Well the Cowboys blog says they would have liked to keep him as he was solid. But not at that price. The track record is not perfect but certainly not awful. Dawkins and Morse come to mind. I think they will draft an OT fairly early based on this to complete with SB at RT.

You don’t like the move. Ok got ya. Your recommendation?

He didn’t draft Dawkins. His best OL draft pick is…..Brown?

I don’t hate it but it’s not gonna move the needle much.
My recommendation is draft better and find money to build a solid OL in front of your most prized asset.  KC focused on that 3 years ago.  We drafted AJ.  They drafted an Creed.

Right and are you suggesting they were not good signings? It’s the BB approach to sign players young on the upswing? And your sure it won’t work because why ???

Because BB’s track with OL is awful. It’s the exact opposite when it comes to the secondary.  I’m not sure but if the guy came that cheap, I’d young and versatile the Cowboys would’ve found a way to keep him.

You're under the assumption that McGovern doesn't want to start or something.  He's behind Tyler Smith and Zach Martin on the depth chart at the guard position.

McGovern is a free agent and he can choose where he goes.

Are you saying the Cowboy's don't want to pay a back up more than $7 million a year means he's average?

The guard point is valid but he could certainly compete for Center which is what he was drafted to play.
He’s average because of his numbers and contact that he got.  Betting on the fact that he’s only 25 is the only thing you can point to that might give you hope that he improves over league average.  The light boxes Josh affords his OL will help too

    ^^^ This.

Also, beyond forgetting about Brown missing an entire offseason with an injury, I also feel those calling for Brown to be replaced have forgotten about the Wyatt Teller effect. Beane likely will not do that twice.  With proper training Brown can improve his footwork and movement skills to continue developing. Sure he should be challenged in camp, but to say that we need to move on without seeing what a healthy off- and pre-season can do for him is just not smart.

Wyatt Teller was an all conference guard in college.
Brown played 8 man football, was a TE and got moved to OT in D2 and missed the entire covid season.  There is literally no comparison.
There is no reason why we should t bring in legit competition for him.  He’s proven nothing and regressed if anything.  We gotta an all time QB, I’d rather not bet on  a project

Let's say the Cowboys have 21 FAs this year and are already over the cap. What do you do in that scenario?

If that was the case, there wouldn't be any mid tier FA.

The difference is that this is a guy they used a 3rd round pick on and is only 25.  Given the value of the pick, age and low AAV of the contract, he’d be at the top of their list of FA’s to keep if they thought he was a good player.  Most likely would’ve came at a better price too. Odds are, he’s very average.

If Brown takes a step with his first healthy offseason, Bills could be much improved from a pass blocking perspective.

Yeah except Brown is awful.  If he improves he’s still he bottoms tier

I cant wait till Bernard blows this boards richards into their neighboring counties next year. We red shirted a guy with instincts, athleticism and intangibles, so that he could get a year in NFL S&C, pack on quality weight and hit the ground running in 2023.

Anybody can buy into Apple shares @ 150 a pop, hold it for a season, then clap their own hands when it hits 175 the year after

Beane had some GME visions with his 2022 3rd rounder.  "tRaDe HiM fOr A 7tH", paper-hand city in here 😆

Chiefs had 5 rookies making huge plays in the Super Bowl and you’re talking about redshirts and RAS scores 😂
