Has it not occurred to anyone that this is nothing but a PR smokescreen by the Steelers? Their handling of Holmes' situation raised a number of questions as to whether there is a double standard in Pittsburgh. You can argue that a double standard doesn't exist, but the fact is that the issue is in the public consciousness either way. If I were advising the Steelers on PR, I'd tell them they need to at least make it LOOK like they would trade Ben since they were so all-fired about trading Holmes. They can always say "nobody offered us what we think a 2-time SB-winning QB on the low side of 30 is worth -- even if he IS a scumbag -- so we didn't trade him."
