  1. Or Sammy Walker of the early '90s Steelers, who as it turned out was actually blind in one eye.
  2. In case you want to greet the Dolphins at the airport this afternoon and see how well blasting the AC prepared them for this. Hope Elon doesn’t ban me from Twitter…
  3. No, but if you’ve ever landed there, especially from the northwest (which will make their plane have to do a 180 at low altitude given where they’re coming from), you know it’s not the most comfortable trip down. Hope they enjoy that.
  4. People on the East Coast and below the Mason-Dixon Line close everything down for a couple of inches. They probably saw "9 inches" and wondered how it was even possible to play football. They gonna find out.
  5. As some commenters pointed out, that's like the Bills saying "it gets hot in Buffalo, too!" And it never snowed in Tuscaloosa, nor was there ever any snow on the ground, during the games that Tua played there. Dude is whistling past the graveyard.
  6. And see the Sabres games that have been postponed. Last I checked, they play inside, and only a third as many people needed to get there.
  7. Please stop with this. In neither instance was the game-day weather a factor in moving the game to Detroit. Both games would still have been moved if Highmark was a dome.
  8. Tua: "Look guys, it snows in Alabama, too." Total snow depth for Tuscaloosa for the months of November and December in 2017, 2018, and 2019 (when Tua played at Alabama): 0.0 inches. Road games that Tua played in November and December during his Alabama career: at LSU (dome) in 2018; at Mississippi State in 2019. Temperature in Starkville on that date: 52 degrees. Precipitation: zero point zero.
  9. It's the humidity. It's colder in, say, Minneapolis, but it doesn't feel the same as it does here. I really want to be at the airport when the Dolphins are getting off the plane just to see their initial reactions. With the incoming weather, I can't imagine it'll be a pleasant landing approach either. Does anyone know when they're planning to fly in?
  10. Steve Garvey too. Always love when his fans cite his fielding % to argue that he was better defensively than, say, Keith Hernandez.
  11. A week ago a Fins fan friend of mine (somehow I still have a few) told me "honestly, I have a gut feeling it's gonna be one of those Indian summer nights."
  12. Jokes aside, I just watched that. Holy crap, what was Strange doing? And good for Agholor to stop the play. We need more of that.
  13. You obviously have not been to Kansas in November.
  14. I mean, I didn’t know him well, and I don’t want to be that guy who says, “yeah, you could tell all along.” But living where I do, I know a lot of “country club nice” people who are well-mannered and friendly (as long as they get everything they want) but have troglodytic views and opinions.
  15. My daughter and their son were classmates for a few years. The wife's press conference was a sight to behold.
  16. It reminds me of when Hank Williams Jr. cited the 1st Amendment when he and all his rowdy friends got kicked off Monday Night. How'd that lawsuit go?
  17. Apologies if already posted, but it appears that the players are on board with this.
  18. And what if Steve Young had used a word that is considered derogatory toward, say, Mormons? What then? Context matters. The First Amendment does not say what you think it says.
  19. We’re 47-28 against the Dolphins since 1986. I remember this game but it blurs with so many of our other wins. My personal favorite is still the playoff game after the 1990 regular season when Tim McKyer said “I challenge Jim Kelly to throw my way” and then Kelly burned the Dolphin D for three touchdowns, including a TD to James Lofton that beat McKyer like a rented mule. I think it was after that game that Tasker said “don’t write a check with your mouth that your body can’t cash.”
  20. nah, man, this ain’t it.
  21. So what are the odds he figures out a way to get credentials for Saturday night? My guess is they're pretty low, after reading this. Especially this part: Any unauthorized use of the credential card subjects the Bearer to ejection and prosecution for criminal trespass and subjects the Accredited Organization to revocation of its credentials for future Games or Events. I can't imagine any "accredited organization" giving him a press pass right now, but we'll see.
  22. Carwell should be the Legend or whatever they call it on Saturday night.
  23. If Jerry hadn’t rocketed himself back into semi-relevance by trolling Josh on Sunday, no one would have paid attention to what he said the other night. And that’s not to excuse his stupid misogynistic statements at all. But usually when someone goes down, it’s not for the worst thing they did. It’s for the thing they can actually be gotten for. I’ve seen it happen to politicians, high school baseball coaches, sportswriters, Al Capone, you name it. Jerry set himself up for this fall over 30 years and had no one there to catch him when it happened. Also, that was a terrible “apology,” especially for someone who writes for a living and knows exactly what his words mean.
  24. Wilkins grabbed some dick Totally by mistake, see Thought it was his leg
