Breaking: Von Miller to bills, 6 year , 120 million
BRH replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
This is the roster that Williams joined - and keep in mind, we hadn't yet drafted four of those starters (Glenn, Graham, Bradham and Gilmore). He wasn't the final piece to a playoff team, let alone a Super Bowl favorite. The lead-up was completely different, too: we were all sitting here for days pressing F5 to see if Williams had signed, because the doofuses in charge were so public about their courtship of him. And we were thirsty just to have one "big name" on the roster. None of us had any idea that we were in on Miller, and if anyone says they did, they're lying. Look at that roster again. What a difference ten years makes. -

And Isaiah Robertson! I loved both those guys. -
Matt Millen: Only player to win SB with three teams? (Von Miller thread)
BRH replied to galept's topic in The Stadium Wall
Miller can become the first guy ever to play in three different winning Super Bowls with three different franchises. Millen was inactive when Washington won. -

You sign a guy like that for the one play in a game that you absolutely need him to make. You'll know when it happens. Bruce was like that. -

Yes, that's why they did this. 🙄 -
I'd love it if Jerry and Fitz both got a chance to hoist the Lombardi because no two active players would appreciate it more, having been here during the lean years. But there's not a lot of room for sentimentality. They know it's a business and wouldn't have any hard feelings. He's not done and the jury is still out on at least two of those young guys. You know what you'll get from Jerry especially if we're not relying on him to be the #1 pressure guy. I love the idea of Von coming from one side and Jerry from the other, especially when we're protecting a lead.

It was Washington for whom he didn't play, but the point is the same. -

The last few years have taught me otherwise, and not just about football. -

We all should know by now that if we're quoted as being "in" on a player, we're not. These moves come out of left field. Never play poker with that man. -

Bingo. Chandler Jones makes a Pro Bowl here and there. Von Miller wins Super Bowls and makes the Hall of Fame. -

He was just on Twitter the other day complaining how hard it was to recruit. Well no ***** it's hard to recruit when Mac Jones is your QB. -

This assumes he was even going after Jones. Dude never tips his hand. -

Breaking: Tom Brady will play this year with Tampa
BRH replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
The thing about it that really pisses me off is that other teams were making moves and planning free agency/trades for six weeks around him being done. At the very last moment before free agency starts he goes “ha ha just kidding, I’m back” and all the guys on the Bucs who were getting ready to sign with other teams (Gronk, Jensen, etc.) go back to Tampa, leaving a bunch of other teams with their ****s in their hands. It almost seems… planned. And timing his "retirement" for SB week and his unretirement for Selection Sunday reminds me a lot of how A-Rod opted out of his contract during the World Series. -
PFWA names Belichick as NFL executive of the year
BRH replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's no way to talk about a signing by the NFL Executive of the Year. -
Those of us who remember staring in wonderment as Barry Bonds and Lance Armstrong got better in their late 30s -- no, not just better, CRAZY better -- will not be surprised if and when we find out who Alex Guerrero really was. That's all.
