  1. Dude, have you ever been to Brazil or Italy? Those people live and die over lame sports like soccer and Formula 1. It's no different. Just different sports.

I have...I have also worked on the Broadcast team for the 2004 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake, 2004 World Cup in Japan, 2006 Summer Olympics, and the 2008 Winter Olympics in Torino...

So, I have seen the crazy fanatics of other sports and other country's...my point was that the priorities of some people on this board are so out of whack that they place the succes of stupid game ahead of the value of human life. Being a fanatic is one thing, wishing someone dead because you disagree with how they run a sports team is another and quite disturbing.

Is our lives so bad that our happiness is tied to the success of a sports team? I mean really...with the global issues going on this is what impacts your life so much that you wish for the death of the owner because you want change so much?

Come on now, its just uncalled for, unneccessary, embarrassing, pathetic, and straight from the book "Things losers say"...

  2. The Pro Bowl has become a joke, mainly 'cause of the fan voting. That's how guys who don't deserve it but who have legions of loyal fans get voted in. It's also how you get crap like Brett Favre getting a spot while Philip Rivers, the league's top rated passer w/ nearly 500 more passing yards, 7 more TD passes, and 6 fewer INTs than Favre, gets the shaft.

Memo to Philip: Be very indecisive in the offseason. Retire. Reconsider. Then, whine 'bout a trade. Next thing you know, everyone will love you and you'll get to the Pro Bowl again.

The funny thing is everyone wants their guys to be selected to a game they dont watch...I mean when was the last time anyone watched the pro bowl? I love football and the game is just unwatchable.

Unlike Basketball and Baseball, the NFL pro-bowl is pathetic. Basketball is exciting, baseball has put homefield on the line during the World Series to make it interesting, and then there is football. Most people dont even know when the game airs, let alone watches it.

They need to do something to make it interesting, and they can start with a better selection system for one.

  3. 1. Sign Warner at QB. He still can throw the ball productively, and he can tutor Edwards. He wouldn't be here more than 2 years anyway. If we can't sign Warner, no biggie..I don't mind giving Edwards a shot again next year, but we def. need a veteran backup.

    2. Sign Channing Crowder and put him at MLB; move Paul P. to the outside.

Those would be the main FA's the bills should sign.

    Draft:

    1. Michael Johnson--DE. Beast mode part II

    2. Chase Coffman--TE. This offense and our QB's finally need a reliable TE. At 6'6, he would also be an instant redzone threat. He could very well be here for us when we pick in the 2nd. GET HIM.

    3. Antoine Caldwell--C

    4. Dorrell Scott--DT

    5. Worrell Williams--MLB

    6. Travis McCall--FB

    7. Whatever.

    Scott/KO Whitner

    Mitchell/ Crowder/ Paul P.

    Mcgee Schobel/Williams/Stroud/Johnson Greer

    Evans Peters/Dockery/Caldwell/Butler/Walker/Coffman Reed

    Warner

    McCall

    Lynch

    Done. ;)

If, and thats a big if still, Warner plays next year it will ONLY be in Arizona. He is not even worth discussing. We have about as much chance of getting Brady.

Two, the Bills staff are said to be pretty high on Derek Fine, so I dont see them using a high pick on a TE...not saying they shouldnt, just dont see it happening. I think Fine has shown some potential and I hope they get him some more playing time down the stretch here to see what he can do.

Three, I think Poz would be worse on the outside. He is better suited to play MLB to me. I dont think he has the speed to as effective on the outside...just my opinnion though.

  4. You're right. Buffalo is a giant media market, that has been on national tv in playoff games, and Peters is one of the most popular players in the NFL. That's they only reason he was selected to a Pro Bwol. just like Aaron Schobel. ;)

Players' and coaches' opinions > people who blog on a message boards (myself included)

Aaron Schobel was voted in by his peers last year, with a lot of opposing GM's and coaches talking about how he is the kind of player they have to game plan for. There was actually quite a lot of complimentary things said about Schobel amongst his peers last year and they said it was an easy decision.

  5. I hear you, Dawg, but it is all just more stupid posturing by Internet tough guys who think they can say whatever they want.

I know, it just makes me embarrased to be a Bills fan when I see this crap. Honestly, I didnt think I could dislike any fans more than Raider fans or Jets fans out here in Cali, but man, some of these posters just take the cake...

We need an Emoticon of a dude pissing on a posters Avatar so I can piss all over these "Death to Wilson" losers...that would be sweet...

Seriously though, anyone who posts some gibberish like this should just be banned... ;)

  6. When is enough, enough?

Last Saturday I paid my Directv Bill. My balance due was a couple of hundred dollars. They were going to turn off my service on Sunday. My bill was that high because I had not paid for the NFL Sunday ticket yet.

For me shelling out the two and a half Benjamin's plus to watch football is not easy. This honestly is money I could have used for Christmas. While watching the game against the Jets, I started to realize that it is just not worth it. I didn’t get my money’s worth. Worst yet, looks like nothing will happen in the near future to make the expense justifiable.

Adding a couple of free agents, drafting some hopeful college prospects and getting a couple of new position coaches isn’t going to do it for me. I have been a life long Bills fan. I have a signed picture of Ko Simpson framed in my office. He autographed it: To “A Real Bills Fm” because that is what I’m known as. But honestly, I’ve just about had it. When Dick J was hired by the Bills, I was so angry that I threw several of my Buffalo Bills items out of my bedroom window into the pond next to my house. I told my wife I would never follow the Bills again. But of course, stupid me, I came back and have paid just under $1,000.00 to watch the Bills have three consecutive losing seasons.

At this point, I think my biggest mistake was expecting the Bills to be consistently competitive in the NFL. My second mistake was to think that anyone at One Bills drive actually cares about the fans outside of the revenue we bring.

When is enough, enough? Why should I continue to be a loyal fan? I don’t know if I’m just so disappointed or actually starting to emotionally divorce myself from the organization I have cherished for over 35 years.

Is anyone else feeling this way? Or does being true Bills fan mean to: Shut up, Pay up, complain not, and expect nothing?

I just go to the bar to watch the games out here in Cali...at least I can drink to drown out the pain...lol

  7. It would be financially stupid for Ralph sell the team before he dies. So instead of wishing for the team to be sold, with for Ralph to die.

Geezus, another loser who values a game over human life...as I have said before, ban this stupid f**k and all of them like em that are calling for the death of our teams owner to satisfy the empty needs in their life cuz they dont get laid enough and because of that dont have any life outside Bills football. I bet this poser strokes it to pictures of the Lombardi trophy...

No wonder other country's hate us...look at our priorities >>> silly game is more valuable to you than a human life!

  8. Ralph Wilson MUST get the message that Bills fans are FED UP with 9 years of losing football. Some sort of MASS PROTEST must be agreed upon and acted upon for the Pats game!

Geezus...another poser mark my words post coupled with a poser protest request...

    ;)

  9. I never said he's been fragile, I just said his confidence was shaken this season, especially in the Cleveland game. Edwards took a beating in college. Like you, I hope Edwards rebounds in 09'. I think a lot of us got very high hopes on Edwards after we were 5-1, but we have to realize that he's just a 2nd year QB and we're gonna go through some growing pains with him.

Im saying hes fragile...hes been hurt at every level of football and it was one of his knocks coming out of college. Even if he starts to develop better I just dont trust him to finish the season.

Again, I hope he proves he can lead this team and stay on the field if we keep him as our starter. I still wear his jersey every Sunday in support. I just am not as optimistic as I was about this kid. My 2 biggest concerns are this:

    1. Can he stay off the injury report?

    2. His ability to handle adversity. I am TOTALLY OK with him struggling as he is just a 2nd year QB as you pointed out. I know there will be growing pains. My real concern though is how he responded. He was afraid to let the ball go. The greats battle through it and keep slinging the ball, but he looked so afraid to throw a bad pass that he wouldnt throw a pass at all or dump it off for 3 yards. Our line was giving him all day to throw, and replays would show we had guys open, he just didnt let the ball go. So to me, it looked like he was doubting himself, and that's what concerns me.

If he is our guy next year, then I will rally around him and hope he shakes it off...I am just not as optimistic as I once was...

  10. Since everybody seems to think Schobel is so great a first rounder in a trade should be no problem ;)

Dont get me wrong, I still think Schobel is solid, but I would say at times he looked like hes lost a step and when you are a finess type pass rusher, losing a step hurts a lot. I doubt we could get more than a 2nd for him and I think that would be pushing it. Maybe a late second rounder at best...Im guessing the realistic market for him is a 3rd given his injury filled season.

That being said, I think a healthy Schobel next year rebounds and has a pretty good year, so I would like to see him stay. He's still our best pass rusher and solid against the run. Our D is definitely better with him out there in my opinnion.

  11. I was hoping we would've picked up a journeyman WR for 2-3 years and drafted a WR as well. It usually takes 2-3 years for a WR to develop, sometimes 4, so bringing in a veteran WR for at least 2 to 3 years would have been helpful to this offense. But I agree, I wouldn't have broke the bank on Johnson or given him a 1 year deal.

Yeah, would have been nice, but if you look at around at the Journeyman that signed places, they all got more money than they were worth...ask Jacksonville and Miami about that one...lol.

Wasnt a lot to choose from that was better than we had or could get in the draft. I definitely didnt expect Hardy to be a monster impact this year, although I will admit I expected more than we got from him, thats for sure. The coaching staff is really high on him still, at least they claim to be, so who knows what next year brings. Personally, I think Johnson emerges as the eventual #2 either during preseason or sometime during the season.

Then again, unless we get a QB to get these guys the ball, none of them are gonna develop or at least appear to develop. Even when Trent was doing ok he wasnt pushing the ball down field much...which is why I am not too high on him at this point when you add that into how fragile he has been his entire football life, and how bad his swagger and confidence dipped when he struggled. Dont get me wrong, I hope he rebounds and develops just like I will root for any of our guys to, but I just am not that optimistic after what I have seen this year.

  12. Sorry, but who in the hell is gonna pay full price for a ticket and pay for parking just to stay for 15 minutes of a game. The only way Ralph is going to notice anything is if there is a significant drop in ticket sales next year...when it hurts his pocketbook, he'll notice.

    ;)

    Wow, agree totally again...

Whats with all the "mark my words" topics...

Mark my words, I am gonna postal up in here if I see another one...lmao...

Sour Call of the Week: Leading 27-24 at Jersey/B, Buffalo faced second-and-5 on its 27, one snap before the two-minute warning. To that point, Bills rushing had been magnificent, gaining 5.8 yards per carry, while Bills passing had been dreadful, gaining 3.3 yards per attempt. Power back Marshawn Lynch was having a monster game, with 127 yards rushing; quarterback J.P. Losman was having an awful game, and had already fumbled twice. "As long as they don't throw, the Bills will win," my 13-year-old, Spenser, opined. Bills coach Dick "Cheerio, Chaps" Jauron called a pass: Losman scrambled and fumbled, and the ball was returned by the Jets for the winning touchdown. TMQ's immutable Law of the Obvious holds: Sometimes all a team needs to do is rush up the middle for no gain, and everything will be fine. Had the Bills sent Lynch straight ahead, victory was likely.

But that doesn't begin to express how sour the Buffalo coaching decision was. This situation can justify a play-fake to throw deep, because a deep completion ices the contest. That is not what Jauron called. He called an ultra-short flat pass to blocking back Corey McIntyre. Buffalo had run the play earlier in the game, and McIntyre, one of the slowest gentlemen ever to don pads in the NFL, caught for no gain. On the botched down that won it for Jersey/B, McIntyre was executing his pattern 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage -- if he'd caught the ball, he would have lost yardage. So the Bills weren't going deep to ice, they were trying to throw behind the line, exactly where run-blitzers were likely to be in that situation. (The flare to a blocking back works when defenders are retreating in an expected pass situation.) To top it off, Losman sprinted backward 10 yards and then waved the ball around in one hand before fumbling, instead of just throwing out of bounds. Ye gods. Ay caramba. "Cheerio, Chaps" Jauron is so completely, utterly out of it he even told reporters afterward that it was "one of those times in the game that's good for a pass."

    ;)

  14. I'm gonna say with Evans, Reed and Johnson on the field the Bills are ok at WR..we all saw what the offense was like without Reed..and when he came back he stepped in right where he was b4 he got hurt...he might not have outstanding #'s but he gets 1st downs when we need them...Johnson looks to be better than Hardy to me at this point...I'd rank the wr's in this way : 1-Evans, 2-Reed, 3-Johnson, 4-Hardy, 5-Jenkins..next season I wouldnt be suprised to see it go: 1-Evans, 2-Johnson, 3-Reed.....I also think D.Fine will be the TE we all are looking for next season..So far I really like his play...I'm hopeing TE watches tapes and says " hey I need to throw to Fine more often"

    ;)

    Totally agree

  15. Okay, that makes better sense. I don't want to give up on Edwards just yet, I feel he needs about 2 more weapons. Plus, I wish Ralph would open his pocketbook up on a good GM and coach. Regardless of who we have at QB, if we keep having lame ducks like Jauron as HC, we're never going to be a playoff team.

How much was B. Johnson asking for? I never heard the price.

From what I heard was that he was pushing for a high end deal but couldnt find it, which is why he signed the 1 year deal in SF to try and play his way into a bigger deal this off season that he was seeking last year.

He has been a bust in SF and grossly outplayed by an old Issac Bruce. He wont find that deal this year either. Buffalo didnt want to waste time messing around with a 1 year deal...it was a lose lose for us. If he doesnt work out, he took time away from developing a young WR we could get in the draft. If he did have a big year, he would hold us over the coal's this offseason for a huge contract and likely go some where else anyway as he would be highly sought given his size and would likely sign with a Philly, Minn, Dall (they didnt have Roy at the time Buffalo was considering this), etc. if he showed big time talent during his year in Buffalo.

So, I was happy to see him go to SF as I didnt want to overpay for potential.

  16. totally agree with that..he is not what he was last year at all...he better have his a$$ in the gym this offseason and on the field for every ota and be in camp on time this next season

as for the play call..i like the play call just not at the time they called..with the way Lynch was running on the Jets play actions are great ..but when you are running out the clock with a lead, and running like Lynch was, you must hold on to the ball by running

    ;)

Totally agree...Lycnh was having a great day, and more importantly, our O-line was opening holes in the running lane. On 2nd and 5, with Lynch hitting the holes as hard as he was hititng them, hand it to him! If he gets stuffed for no gain or a one yard loss, then I think you consider picking up the first down through the air to win the game outright, but if gains 3 yards or so and its 3rd and short, you run it again with the kid.

  17. I'm drunk...I think you have multiple personalities with your posts. You plan on giving up Edwards and our #1 pick, for a QB who plays spontaneously & is injury prone? I like McNabb, but he's either hit or miss. With giving away Edwards, do you really feel confident in Hamdan stepping in and playing? You know at some point Hamdan will come in because McNabb will get injured at some point in the season.

I agree with some of your points, I like Steve Johnson and think he can develop into a #2 WR, I wish he would get the ball thrown to him more. I was on the Brent Johnson bandwagon as well, but never heard the amount he was asking for...what was his price? It's too early to give up on Edwards, he needs more weapons. Royal should be cut loose after the season. We need a veteran backup QB. Housh or Jennings would be a great addition. A better Center would be nice. With our WR's, the only one that other teams gameplan around is Evans. IMO Evans is a below average #1 WR but is an overacheiving #2 WR. Evans has great speed, but can't shake the double-teams. How many times have we've seen Evans get between 1-4 receptions in a game? Reed is a great slot receiver but is not a #2 WR. Parrish is a 4th or 5th WR at best, he's great on Special Teams, but has been dropping almost everything thrown to him since coming back from surgery.

You're right in saying we need a better DE. IMO we need 2 DE's. Schobel is way overpaid and hasn't been producing over the last 2 seasons. If we can get better DE's, then we should try and trade Schobel to at least get something for him. He's not worth the %50.5 million dollar contract he got. We have NO pass rush and good QB's like Warner, Manning & Brady will pick us apart if we can't get people in their face.

The funniest thing is that I think I argue with you the most yet I agree with you on almost everything...including this last post.

As far as Trent and a #1 goes, my rationale is that if we decide he is NOT our future, than I would rather dump him than give up an additional pick that we could use on a more pressing need and bring in a veteran to back up McNabb as there will be plenty of servicable backups available cheap this offseason.

Personally, I would prefer to keep Edwards and get McNabb as cheap of possible. I just dont think its a reality. I think any offer to get McNabb will likely command at least a #1 pick to get him out of Philly, ESPECIALLY if he leads them to the playoffs. I can see Philly asking for Trent too as Kolb just looks awful when he gets a chance to play in the preseason or real games. If I was faced with giving up Trent and our #1, I would do it for a player the caliber of McNabb. It wouldnt be my first choice, but if push came to shove and that is what it took, then I would be ok with it.

The draft is deep at QB this year and we could pick up a young QB to groom the next 3 years...or (preferably) take one next year.

  18. The Bills should avoid drafting the third best defensive lineman (McCargo), on his OWN TEAM  . They should also avoid the 4th or 5th best QB (Losman) in round 1, when there are other players at other positions that didn't even get drafted yet.

    ;):lol::worthy:

    Classic

  19. You talk about me with my questioning of the Bills FO not bringing in a veteran WR in the offseason and you're willing to trade away Trent Edwards & our #1 pick? I'm glad you're not the GM.

What are you talking about? I wanted a veteran WR this past year. I think we now have found a pretty good player to develop in Steve Johnson, so I dont think its as pressing need going into next year, but before this season I definitely wanted some WR help and even was on the Bryant Johnson band wagon in the beginning (IF HE WAS AT THE PRICE HE WAS WORTH, just didnt want to over pay him and was SOOOO glad we didnt).

If we can get Boldin or Housh this year, then hell yeah bring em in, but if I had to choose between them or say a Elite QB or DE, I take the latter as I think our WR's will be much better with better QB play that provides a down the field threat instead of dink and dunk.

Man, I just dont get some of your comments...its like you are drunk when you read my posts as you grossly misinterpret what I say every time and twist it to mean something totally different.

  20. What if it's an itty bitty db doing the nailing?

And yes, i know it was DB...but Peters has done this several times this year, the other times being lineman...I was making a more general comment as Trent has fumbled in that exact spot too when crushed from behind on a blown Peters block. I should have been more specific in how I was phrasing that...my bad.

Still, even a DB running right at your back side is gonna hurt. These guys are football players who even if they are small are still real strong. Not to mention how much faster he is gonna be running...so, dont blame JP for fumbling on the hit, but I blame JP for fumbling because he didnt throw the ball away when his hot read wasnt even in the frame of sight given the current state of the game.
