The more I think about this, the more I think that if the Bills don’t trade up and stay at 28 they will be taking Worthy.
I really hope not. Small guys like him just tend to end up injured in the NFL. Obviously everyone is enamored with the speed but I just don’t see him being more than a gadget guy receiver.

Where are these holes? I’ll go position by position:
QB: Josh. Duh
RB: Cook and Williams. Pick up a road grader late in the draft
OL: all set there, only lost Morse and picked up Collins for depth
DL: all set at DT, might look at DE in the draft but have 3 guys there already
LB: no holes there
CB: have your starters, probably add a guy late
S: have your starters in Rapp and Edward’s, backup with Lewis, probably draft another.
So spend some capital to get a WR.
D-Line is hardly as set as you would like - Have to look at DE at a minimum. They also need youth on D-line. Von is a shell of himself and getting NFL old. Oliver is good, Epenesa a good rotational player but the rest of the group is a patchwork.

Some of us did not like the 2022 offseason at the time and it has proven to be pretty much an unmitigated disaster:
Free Agent signings:
Jordan Phillips - $5m
Tim Settle - $9m
Daquan Jones - $14m
Von Miller - $120m
Roger Saffold - $6.25m
Ryan Bates - $17m
OJ Howard - $3.5m
Jameson Crowder - $2m
Extension:
Stefon Diggs - $96m
First round pick:
Kaiir Elam
I know he had some decent success with some of his later picks - Cook, Bernard, Benford - but it is by any standards a bit of a disaster of an offseason.
That picture is very ugly and helps to explain why KC has been able to reload.

Da’Rick Rogers. Too soon for the HOF. Farewell my friend.
I know, this board really believed he was going to be the second coming of Julio Jones.

The second round pick the Bills received came to Houston via the Vikings who are likely to be starting a rookie or journeyman QB. There is potential for the pick to be high second round. I am liking this trade better by the minute.

Draft position chart shows the Bills might leapfrog to 15 or 16 but they will not get to top 8 with a 2nd next year.

I voted yes, but even with the 2nd next year in the mix they are not getting to top 8.

I saw another discussion where they said who tf cares about dead cap this year, because there's no one left to sign. Better to clear the books now and have an extra 25m next year to play with, after we draft one of the stud WR's this year.
Interesting thought. I’m not thinking this is 100% true on its face. The idea can be extended to the idea that Beane is done shopping for FA’s. He likely does not see any more crumbs in the cookie jar that he wants to pursue this year. He will hopefully have a good young receiver next year on the roster and money to move in FA with this move.
I really think Diggs best days are behind him. This was a good move to save a train wreck.

Wow, Beane is willing to take his medicine this year. The Bills are taking a major step back this year!!
You assume they take a step back - I do not see it that way - Diggs was a non factor in the second half of the season. The Bills have the opportunity to upgrade and move on.

Have no idea if numbers are correct but this is among the early info out on cap situation.

I like the move. Diggs all but disappeared in the last 8 games and he has not been a factor in the playoffs. The Bills unload his salary cap hit and can empahsize a youth movement. I get the Idea that Brady just was not a Diggs fan.
IMO the Bills made a very good move here.

The couple of articles I read say no cause of death has been released pending an autopsy. First thing that came to me was a substance related OD. You would hope it wasn't something intentional, but you never know. There is so much laced with fentanyl these days that people really are playing Russian roulette. Seen too many people go away from here too soon due to it.
You also have to wonder if CTE is in play. The whole situation seems so sudden and unfortunate. I certainly feel for his family and those who are close to him.

Buffalo is doomed - the end is coming!!!!

If your eyes were closed you would not know that was a cover. I am not a huge fan of the original - nice song but - meh - to me. However, as covers go, that one nails it.

Sounds like Beane's going with a position of need that has less depth than receiver UNLESS he has the receiver graded higher. That doesn't sound good for pick 28. It sounds rational. But does have me wondering what round he'll take a WR? Unless it's smoke.
It’s lying season in the NFL. Beane is going to take the highest rated player on the draft board at #28 period. In my opinion most likely either d-line or WR.

You realize this is for club seats not regular seats. Raiders and Vikings who are two recent stadiums with PSLs had the majority 5k or less.
However, it still remains to be seen how affordable all of this will be. It will become very difficult for most families to enjoy a game in-person. The game is made for TV though so maybe in the end this will not matter so much.

The Bills do not have a 3rd round pick. I hope they do not spend a 1 or 2 on a safety.

Clearly this is behind his decision not to work out at his Pro day. It's all a clever plan to drop down far enough for Beane to move up and pull the trigger.
We can only hope it works

They are not going to move. Age old tactics on the part of sports teams to fund stadium development.
