Seems like about 90% of the moves that both this coaching staff and this front office make are stupid. What could Spiller have done in two weeks to unseat Jackson as the starting running back? He was so overwhelmed last year, you can't fix that in two weeks. We all know the way the QB situation developed last year. Our O-Line is beyond terrible and they haven't event flinched to address it. We have the worst organization in the NFL and it is getting less close as time goes by.

Jerry Sullivan on WGR this morning
billsfreak replied to EasternOHBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What exactly did he say that wasn't true? Nothing that I can see. This team is pathetic and the front office is even worse. This team has so many holes and they really haven't addressed any of them, they add a player like Brad Smith, who should be a luxury player on a good team, not a part time player on a bad, bad team. -
You are 100% correct, wins and losses don't mean squat, but when you offensive line plays like it has, that isn't hiding anything, and it is a big, big problem. You hide trick plays (which he hasn't been?), not the ability to play the game. So with the O-Line, Fitzy and Mckelvin among others stinking the joint up, it makes no difference whether or not it is preseason, it is troublesome. The fact that the FO isn't on the phone looking for O-Line help (and since they haven't addressed one of the NFL's worst lines last year up to this point, I am assuming they aren't), they aren't doing there job.

The season before last Dumervil led the league in sacks with 17, yea it would suck if Moats only had that type of impact. I met Moats just about 3 weeks ago here in Chesapeake, just a couple days before the lockout ended, and he seemed like a genuinely nice guy with arms the size of my thighs. I hope he does good inside, but by his remarks, he was even surprised at the move and wasn't too happy, but I guess he gets paid to play wherever.

Nix: Offensive line depth Bills’ main concern
billsfreak replied to TheBlackMamba's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The whole entire line with the possible exception of Wood at center is a mess. Take away Bad Santa and you still have probably the worst offensive line in football, for yet another year. -
What a shock? Hurt again? He probably will stay around because Buddy had a hand in drafting him, and with this regime that seems to be what is most important. The only reason they call him Buster, is the first four letters are "Bust" as in first round bust.
-
Where did you ever hear that? They passed him over twice in the draft. They passed over the most NFL ready (according to so called experts) in the second round this year and left Dalton for the Bungals to pick. I sometimes think that Gailey is being forced to do the best he can with the cheapest players out there, and with no franchise quarterback in our near future, maybe he thinks these dumb gimmick plays will make up for the lack of talent.
-
The bottom line is our whole QB depth chart is filled with backups. Thigpen will replace Fitz before Levi replaces Thigpen, and I don't care for Thigpen either. But watch how this team has operated lately, if you have a connection with either Nix or Gailey (and that is about all they bring in here), then you are golden, and with Thigpen's connection to Gailey, don't be surprised if we get a musical chairs at the QB position around the mid point of the season when we are about 1-7.

Do we really need Lee Evans?
billsfreak replied to playboy reese 2.0's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't say that Evans was the only reason Johnson had a decent year, but if you think it isn't different being the #1 and the #2 you know absolutely nothing about football. Not sure how long you have been a Bills fan, or that you even are, but if you remember the huge numbers that Peerless Price put up with Moulds the #1 receiver, then what he did in Atlanta when he got big bucks to the their #1, this could be exactly the same thing for Johnson. Let's hope he has another big year, but I am not putting his name on the Wall of Fame yet like alot of people on this forum are. -
I know what you were trying to do, but I apologize, I had to vent. This organization is a joke.

I agree, they traded more than what they got on the field from Evans, he was the veteran leadership in the clubhouse. Hell, trade Williams and anyone else that doesn't go around writing things on their T-Shirts and getting suspensions just to draw some attention to themselves. This moronic front office and the fans that think Stevie Johnson is ready to be a #1 reciever will see what Lee Evans brought when Stevie doesn't come close to his 2010 numbers, because he will be drawing all the double teams that Evans got last year. This front office has f-cked up almost everything they have done since they got here. They bombed their first draft big time-the biggest draft bust of the first round, if not the whole draft. They were unable to bring any big name players here because of their cheapness and the bad reputation this organization has. They let the teams leading tackler leave, a guy who really wanted to stay here, but they lowballed him. They now have two linebackers to played a total of 3.5 games out of a possible 36 games last year due to injury. We have a quarterback who the whole world, minus some dilusional Bills fans, knows we will never compete with anyone but other terrible teams like ourselves-and they act like they don't even notice (maybe they don't?). I have read a few times on here that trading Evans wasn't a salary dump. They cut Evans and replaced him with another of Buddy Nix's first round busts who is making minimum salary, if that isn't a salary dump then such a thing doesn't exist. This team will never get it right until there is a new owner, with a vision towards winning not only getting rich, but filthy rich at the fan's expense. You are 1000000000000000% correct. And as far as football IQ's, I have seen fantasy league owners that could do better than what we have here. Where they even draft picks? I think at least Nelson was an undrafted FA. That is where he got his nickname. -
Maybe he is trying to match his pathetic play with the pathetic front office that he has made it known he is unhappy with. I haven't been a huge Florence fan, but think he was a good resigning, but I have a new found respect for him speaking up and saying on Twitter what alot of the other players have been thinking. They must have lied or misled him to believe they were going to try to build a winner here and not just cut salary every chance they get, or as he hinted to he wouldn't have resigned here to begin with-and I don't blame him. He gets my vote for Bill of the month.

Unfortuneatly reality for this team as long as Ralph is the owner, the destination will always be last place and top 10 drafting every year. We have been rebuilding for over a decade, but all he has to do in dump one cheap front office and bring in an even cheaper one and dumbass fans here think that the team is heading in the right direction. The only right direction in Buffalo is when the dollar sign in point up towards Ralphs bank account. The entire NFL is laughing at the Bills organization and the entire country of football fans are laughing at Bills Nation and not believing how gullible we are.
-
Not sure when rebuilding meant trading away your best players, letting your best players leave and still-STILL-making every move with cost cutting in mind. Anyone who doesn't think trading Lee Evans was a salary dump has no clue whatsoever when it comes to the tightass Ralph Wilson and his piss poor ownership, not to mention always having his hand out for money from the fans but doesn't give a roosters nuts if he puts a decent quality product on the field. Go Cheap Or Go Home (the Bills' motto).
-
This team has been building for the future for a decade and a half while other teams accomplish it in a couple years. They are always building for tomorrow, but like the old saying goes, and it applies this team so aptly "Tomorrow never comes."
-
If they trade Evans, that will confirm that they have no intentions or desires to win, only to save money and will make it a non arguable fact that we have the most clueless front office in football.

Do we really need Lee Evans?
billsfreak replied to playboy reese 2.0's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There was an article out with quotes from the equipment manager not that long ago. They didn't really "ask" Reed if Evans could use 83, but pretty much told him and he didn't have a problem with it. The NFL kinda frowns against retiring numbers, and with the Bills the only number actually retired is #12, altough 34, 32, 78 and a few others will probably never be used again except in training camp where those players normally won't be around come opening day anyway. If you put Evans on the other side of the line from Fitzgerald in Arizona, he would dwarf the numbers Johnson put up last year, and benefit from the other guy getting the double teams like Johnson did last year with Evans getting doubled up all the time. -

billsfreak replied to playboy reese 2.0's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After one good season (in which he also led the NFL in percentage of dropped balls) he is a legit number 1? Evans is still more of a legit #1 than Johnson is, and if you don't believe me, see who gets the majority of double coverage and/or #1 coverage defensive backs on them during the game. The D-Coordinators know more football then both of us put together, so I will go with thier opinions. -
No depression there at all (and no I didn't click on your dumb link), and I cheer as much or more than any other Bills fan does on sundays, but I am not blind. This product has been garbage for over a decade, so until it gets better why expect it to? Until there is new ownership, among many other things it probably won't change, although I am as hopeful as anyone else, just not convinced like some people on here. We have a quarterback, who odds are will never be a starting quarterback after this season. Our O-Line is still very suspect at best, especially the tackles. I could go on and on, but if you think this team is already a very good team then I don't want to disappoint you, the team will do it for me.

Peters wasn't even a draft pick, he was an undrafted free agent. I would have to say that Schobel was a more productive pick in the last 10 years (2001) then McGee, although with the poor draft history of this franchise over the past decade, McGee was one of the better picks. -

Without even looking it up, it is well known that Moorman is the longest tenured Bill. -
Is there any actual evidence of Gailey's (gulp) genius.
billsfreak replied to #34fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course there is.... They won 4 games last year, a couple less than the year before. Why would you question that? You don't do much research before you post do you? Gailey has been here for one season, and neither Byrd nor Stevie Johnson were rookies, so he didn't have squat to do with acquiring either one of them. He can take the credit for drafting Spiller-Oops! nobody wants to the credit for that bust. Good coaching in the latter part of the season? They got blown out the last two games, and showed little heart in the season finale. -
1. "Just think Jim, after we are gone this team is never gonna win much again!" 2. "I bet the fingers on your throwing had are gonna smell like cheese."

A lot of people think the Bills stink
billsfreak replied to Marshawn's 20 bucks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unlike last season, I haven't heard many so called "experts" say the Bills were going to be "the" worst team in the league like a whole bunch of them said this time last year. The most common team mentioned as the worst is the Redskins, in fact in Vegas their over/under I beleive is just 2 wins. I would guess that when it all settles down and the 2011 season is in the books, we will finish somewhere in the same area as last year, maybe a spot or two higher in the draft, around the 3-6th overall pick range. I do think Carolina will be below us, as will Washington. Cincinnati maybe a spot below us or a spot ahead of us like last year. I think the 49ers will win about 2 more games then we do. Denver could very well be below us again this year too.
