  1. No thanks... http://www.profootba...1-mock-draft-10 and No Thanks... http://www.profootba...ite-sack-artist but maybe... http://www.profootba...to-expectations But I still want Dareus or Quinn.
  2. Drop for what reason? Marcel Dareus looked totally dominant and unblockable in the Capital One bowl game.
  3. I was asking a simple question. You can keep your rude comments to yourself.
  4. I would love for the Bills to draft Marcel Dareus. But can someone please explain this to me ??? http://warroom.sportingnews.com/nfl/draft/2011/mockdraft/1.html Marcel Dareus and JJ Watt second or third round picks ?? http://warroom.sportingnews.com/nfl/draft/2011/players/9929.html http://warroom.sportingnews.com/nfl/draft/2011/rankings/dt/ http://warroom.sportingnews.com/nfl/draft/2011/rankings/de/
  5. Does anyone know what is the real issue with Aaron Maybin is? Why he doesn't play in games, and may possibly even be cut? Like many of you I did not want to draft him, and I have watched every game he has played in as a Bill. But what is the underlying reason why? Why he has sometimes not even dressed for games? Does anyone have any insider information? Is it because he is too light? Too weak? Not intelligent? Has no heart, desire, drive? Has no mean streak? Doesn't care? Unable to grasp new position? Doesn't understand scheme? Or he just can't play football or isn't a football player? I am just curious to know if there is any chance for the problem to ever be corrected. Possibly with added weight, weight training, coaching, or even possibly a mentor like Merriman. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Does anyone know where I can watch the auburn game on my droid?
  7. 8. I realize these are just opinions from fans, but after checking various message boards of both the Panthers and the Broncos it seems the consensus draft choices are: CAROLINA: A.J. Green Da'Quan Bowers or Cam Newton DENVER: Da'Quan Bowers Robert Quinn Patrick Peterson or trade down and obtain J.J. Watt. Most fans actually want to trade down. And they are really high on Watt. This is interesting because neither teams fans seem to be interested in Nick Fairley or Marcell Dareus or believe they are fits for their teams. Their opionions mean little more than ours, but they are just as knowledgeable about their teams as we are about the Buffalo Bills. http://www.carolinahuddle.com/forum/carolina-panthers/ http://forums.denverbroncos.com/forumdisplay.php?f=47
  9. probably won't declare, which is unfortunate because I would have loved to see him in a Bills uniform this year. http://www.tidesports.com/article/20110103/NEWS/110109920/1016/NEWS?Title=2011-Crimson-Tide-team-has-an-uncertain-future But these Tide players have. I would love to see Marcell Dareus in Buffalo. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81d8660e/article/saban-backs-three-alabama-stars-intent-to-try-nfl-draft
  10. After watching as many games and players as possible this year and last I have come to the conclusion that I would like the Bills to draft: Rd. 1 Marcell Dareus Alabama and Rd. 2 Courtney Upshaw Alabama ( earlier than his current ranking but he will be a game changer ) Rd. 3 RT possibly Matt Reynolds BYU as he has played both LT and RT in college I think both Alabama players who would immediately help our defense. Some other players I would consider for the 1st round are: 1. Nick Fairley 2. Da'Quan Bowers and 3. Robert Quinn I think they all have tremendous potentional as well. Our #1 priority has to be to increase our run defense and our pass rush. I realize a lot of people on this board want to draft a 1st round quarterback. Believe me, I love Andrew Luck as much as anyone. I have for awhile and I was one of the ones who actually wanted the Bills to lose out so we would be able to get him. But the simple fact remains that he will not be available when we draft either because he will decide not to come out or he will be taken by Carolina or Denver. The other quarterbacks avaliable are not worthy of a 3rd pick selection. I believe that the "NET" improvement to the team would be greater taking a defensive player as there is a bigger gap in skill between the defenders we have now and the players listed above than there is between Ryan Fitzpatrick and any other rookie QB's. Contrary to a lot of opinion on this board, Ryan Fitzpatrick is a good quarterback. He is intelligent, mobile, and a leader who the players want to follow. There are some issues with accuracy and turnovers but I believe those will be corrected with improved offensive line play which will also help the running game. Nix will NOT take a quarterback in the first round. Our sack total was ranked 28th, our run defense was ranked 32nd, and we have arguably the worst linebackers in the league. Another quick point, I have decided. I do not want the Bills to draft Dontay Moch or Tank Carder. I know a lot of posters really like Moch because of his straight ahead speed. But what I get from watching him is he cannot change direction and is very tight in the hips. He almost looks unathletic, or like a frankenstein to me. We already have that in Poz, I do NOT want another. Carder has a 3rd round linebacker grade but I just don't see it. I want legitimate athletes on this team. Granted this could be changed if the Bills are able to aquire David Harris or Paul Soliai.
  11. Ok, I'm confused. I added up the wins and losses for opponents of Cincy and the Bills. Cincy opponents are 131-107 ( .550 winning percentage ) Bills opponents are 139-100 ( .582 winning percentage ). Cincy opponents have 2 more games this week. Bills opponents have 1 more game. I'm not absolutely sure if divisional opponents are supposed to be added once or twice. I added them twice. If this is the case we are far behind Cincy in the tie breaker and they would pick before us. Does anyone know if divisional opponents are added once or twice? This means that at the moment we pick 4th. 1. Carolina 2. Denver 3. Cincy 4. Bills
  12. Please let the Bills lose next week so they can pick 4th. Thank you. And please God let them pick a quality defenseman with that pick. Amen.
  13. Oh my God, New England gets Oakland's 1st Round pick next year. I realized they had 2 firsts and 2 seconds. But they could very well get the 1st pick in the draft next year.
  14. I truly appreciate all of the input. Especially that submitted by San Jose and Thurman. They were both extremely informative.
  15. I'm not desperate at all for wins, nor do I wish to sacrifice the entire season before it's played. My question is simple. How good will the bills be? And are the quarterbacks this year better or worse than the ones next year? Is it a better choice to draft a tackle, a linebacker, or a nose guard who may be rated higher than to reach for a quarterback who will probably be running for his life and get killed this year because there are no tackles on the team. It is difficult to learn, progress, or get better laying on your back. As far as the post: You play to win the game. I can see developing a draft strategy based on giving Trent another chance or using Brohm as a fall back. If neither pans out you can draft your QB next year. But going into a season and developing a draft strategy for this year with the idea that your team is so bad you will be able to get the top QB or any position next year is asinine. If you feel you need a QB to be successful this year, then you get a QB. I'm not planning the Bills draft at all. In fact I'm just sitting in my kitchen in front of my laptop. I won't be in NYC on draft day, I won't be in the Bills war room, nor will I be the one making the Bills picks. I'm not even hoping that the Bills do poorly or asking them to throw the season. In fact I want them to win. I'm asking for my own personal knowledge. What I'm asking is again simple. Will we be better or worse next year? What will our record be? Will we be in a position, no matter how unenviable to draft a franchise quarterback. The fact that you think my questions are asinine puzzles me. You feel if we need a QB to be successful this year, then you get a QB. Really? At the cost of the rest of the teams needs? Why didn't they get McNabb? He didn't want to come here? Please. Give them your first, I'm sure they would have taken it. No matter what allegiances they had. Maybe you didn't read my post. I like Clausen. I wouldn't be upset at all if they did take him. In fact I think I would actually prefer it at this point. My question was how does he compare to the QB's next year, and if not well maybe the better alternative would be to take the best player available. To develop a tackle this year, or a nose guard, or a linebacker and maybe, just maybe take a quarterback next year. I would much rather have a Patrick Willis, or Michael Oher, or Haloti Ngata than be forced to take a QB because you deem it the only way to be successful this year. I'm not looking for arguments. I'm looking for insight.
  16. Sorry, Question 6: "Are we better off taking a tackle, linebacker, nose tackle early this year and quarterback next year, or vice versa."
  17. Ok, I know there's a million posts concerning who the Bills should take, how good Jimmy Clausen really is, and how good our beloved Bills will actually be in the future with the new coaching staff and GM. My questions are rather simple. " How good/bad will the Bills be this year?" The reason I'm asking is I am a huge Jake Locker fan. What teams in the league will definitely be worse than us? Alot of people have huge aspirations that the Bills will be competitive this year. I for one seriously doubt it, especially with how our divison rivals are steadily improving. At first I was not that happy with the new coach or GM, but have since warmed to them. I want them to succeed. But I don't know if that is possible in the short term, especially with Ralph Wilson as the owner. After watching the combine my immediate choice for the Bills was Trent Williams. Watching him move he just seemed like a tremendous athlete to me. Very similar to what I observed from Ryan Kalil 3 years previous. The only problem was the rest of the league saw the same thing, and he rapidly rose up the draft boards. He won't be available when we pick. And if Washington gets him I will be sick about it. I didn't want McNabb either. I didn't want a short term solution to our most glaring need. But I know that because of the trade Washington will now take a tackle. Since then there has been talk of Jimmy Clausen and Tim Tebow. I am not a Tebow fan at all. Sure he is competitive, had good stats, and is a proven winner, but to expect someone to completely change their throwing motion, and their game, is ludicrous to me. He should've changed it years ago, not a month before the draft. I don't want a project. I don't want to take a chance and hope for the best. Aaron Maybin was a project and we passed on much better players last year. And we all know how that turned out. ( see Orakpo, Cushing, Oher, and Matthews ) At first I wasn't a huge Jimmy Clausen fan either, but after learning more and watching some of his games, I would not be disappointed with this pick. My only real concern of all of his supposed negatives is his hand size and the fact that he does seem to float, and not fire alot of his passes. These both could be huge negatives in the Bills stadium. But I do think he will be a fine NFL quarterback. Which leads to my second question... "Is there any chance at all we could we get Jake Locker next year?" or even Andrew Luck or Ryan Mallett? I believe Locker is head and shoulders above anyone who is coming out this year. I like Mallet as well, but admittedly don't know anything about Andrew Luck, but am not inclined to taking another Stanford QB. 3rd/4th/5th Questions: "How do these 2011 Quarterbacks compare to Clausen? Would we be better off drafting another position this year and getting a 2011 QB? Could we possibly finish dead last and get Locker?" I know there are alot of Bills faithful out there that still think we will be competitive this year and the playoffs may be in reach. How we were so close to winning numerous games last year. How bad our coach was at making gameday decisions. How bad our quarterback was. All of these things are true and one would think these facts should definitely mean we improve. I for one think the exact opposite. I think we finish worse than last year. As I said before I'd love to succeed, to win the Super Bowl, but while trying to be an impartial observer I don't think it's possible. We have changed coaching staffs, changed the offensive playbook, changed the defensive formation, possibly changed our quarterback. We definitely need time to learn and to aquire the players needed to be competitive. I am including the previously posted Walter Football 2011 mock draft which has us finishing 8th worst where Ryan Mallett would be available. I say we finish worse. Any thoughts, criticisms are welcome. http://walterfootball.com/draft2011.php
  18. Pisa Tinoisamoa to visit Bears Wednesday http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2009/05/st...ion_pisa_t.html
  19. He really does sound like a very good fit for this team.
  20. Found this on a Rams message board: Updated: St. Louis Rams release Pisa Tinoisamoa By Jim Thomas St. Louis Post-Dispatch Coach Steve Spagnuolo likes bigger linebackers, and one thing Pisa Tinoisamoa lacks is size. The Rams have released the veteran linebacker, who led the team in tackles last season with 135, but really doesn’t fit into Spagnuolo’s overall vision for the defense at 220 pounds. With the move, Chris Draft likely will move over to man the starting strongside linebacker position and second-round draft pick James Laurinaitis becomes the starting middle linebacker. “This was a difficult decision based on a lot of factors,” Spagnulo said in a statement released by the team. “I have a great deal of respect for Pisa and wish him all the best.” Tinoisamoa, 27, was a second-round draft pick by the Rams out of Hawaii in 2003. That season, he became the first rookie in franchise history to lead the team in tackles. He registered 121 stops for the Rams’ 2003 NFC West division championship squad. He also led the squad in stops in ‘04 (with 145) and ‘05 (with 134). At his best, Tinoisamao played with speed and passion. He could go sideline to sideline, and wasn’t afraid to take on blockers _ be they fullbacks or 330-pound blockers. But he had a tendency to overrun plays, and while willing, frequently would get wiped out by those bigger blockers. Hand, knee, shoulder, elbow, and ankle injuries struck in ‘06 and ‘07, forcing Tinoisamoa to miss 12 of 32 games. But he stayed healthy last season, playing all 16 games for the fourth time in six NFL seasons. Tinoisamoa was scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent following the 2006 season, but five games into that campaign he signed a $24.7 million contract extension through 2011. This coming season, TInoisamoa was scheduled to make a base salary of $3.25 million and count $4.25 million against the cap. Releasing him frees up $2.25 million in cap space. Once they sign their rookies and pay off some incentives and escalators that kick in on other contracts, the Rams would have been tight against the cap prior to Tinoisamoa’s release. Tinoisamoa basically became a man without a position when the new coaching staff decided to switch Will WItherspoon from middle linebacker to Tinoisamoa’s weakside linebacker spot earlier this offseason. With Laurinaitis and Draft in the middle that left only the strongside position for Tinoisamoa. The strongside position frequently requires the linebacker to take on tight ends, and at 220 pounds, Tinoisamoa is far from ideal size for that role. Barring the addition of another veteran in free agency, the Rams are paper thin at the position, at least in terms of proven talent. Current backups Larry Grant, David Vobora, Chris Chamberlain are fringe players. Quinton Culberson opened the 2008 season at strongside linebacker, but played poorly and was replaced by Draft in the lineup after just three games.
  21. I actually wrote a letter to Andy Roth Monday night. I have included a copy of my email to him as well as his response: I'm not exactly sure who I should be forwarding this to, so I am actually cc'ing it to a number of people at WGR550. I never, ever write letters or complain about anything be it meals, service, or shows. But I was really really offended after having read an article in TwoBillsDrive.com the Stadium Wall concerning Mike Schopp and some of the comments he made concerning the Buffalo Bills. With the draft going on, it is an exciting time of year for genuine Bills fans and to hear a Buffalo Sports personality have genuine disdaine for the team that many of us hold near and dear to our hearts is very disheartening. I have provided the link and the quote for you: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=88298 I am an avid Buffalo sports fan and listen to WGR550 daily, on my way to work, and on my way home as well as at my house. Unfortunately now I won't be listening to the station anymore while Mr. Schopp is still employed there. It's truly unfortunate that in a wonderful town such as Buffalo with so many avid sports fans, you as a radio station are not able to find a sports personality who is passionate about the area, the teams, and its people. Mr. Roth's response: Wallace - Thanks for your e-mail. I always visit twobillsdrive because it is a great way of finding out how Bills fans are thinking. However (and if you read the site you know it too) the posters are not the most accurate in the world. In this (and others on GR), Mike was misquoted again. Let me try to set the record straight: 1) Mike is from Grand Island. 2) Mike has said that he is no longer a big Bills fan because he has felt the team let him down and he doesn't feel Erie County should be paying for the stadium. I understand why people don't like Mike sometimes and I always am trying to work with our hosts to put the best show possible on the air. I'll definitely bring it up to his attention and we'll continue to put the best sports talk programming on the air. -Andy Roth Program Director WGR- Sports Radio 550 I sincerely appeciate Mr. Roth taking the time to respond to my email.
  22. sorry, links as well: http://www.thehogs.net/Draft/combine/2006CombineResults1.php http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/2009/nf...ults.cfm?pos=TE
  23. I am a new poster, so please take it easy on me. I'm not sure if anyone else posted these results, but I for one was interested in them. If comparing Scheffler to the tight ends in the 2009 draft the results would be: 40 yd dash best 4.50 Scheffler 4.54 2nd Broad jump best 10'3" Scheffler 9'7" 7th 3 cone drill best 6.84 Scheffler 6.81 1st 20 yd shut best 4.24 Scheffler 4.01 1st by alot 60 yd shut best 11.57 Scheffler 11.41 1st Hope this helps....
