  1. If he's having trouble with Jonathan Scott what do you think is gonna happen when he plays against the starting level talent of opposing teams? I don't know how much of missing camp has anything to do with his ability to generate pressure off the edge.

maybe schoebel and kelsay can teach him everything they know, should take about two minutes

  2. Guess we can't have Cornelius Bennett expectations- Holdout until traded from the Colts on Halloween; only to destroy Elway in his first game. My how I long for the day when we had the balls to make deals and draft stars.... :wallbash:

good post, you nailed it. i was at that game and you could tell from the first play on defense bennett was going to be a star

  3. Umm,

So are you including the following players in this blanket dismissal of all Texas players this decade as sucking and being soft? I think their teams would beg to differ. But perhaps you can explain it so we can all understand.

    Casey Hampton - DT - Steelers Pro Bowls in '04, '06, '07 and '08.

Micheal Griffin - S - Titans -Pro Bowl in second year ('08). Led Titan in special teams tackles as a rookie BTW.

Shaun Rogers - DT- Lions and Browns - Pro Bowls in 04, 05

Priest Holmes - RB - Chiefs - Pro Bowls in '02 ,'03 and '04 while leading the league in rushing.

Nathan Vasher - CB - Pro Bowl in '05, led Bears D in ints as a rookie. Ranked 6th in NFL as a punt return avg between 04 and 08.

Leonard Davis - OG - Cards and Cowboys - Pro Bowls in '07 and '08, coincidentally after he left the Cards for the Cowboys.

don't confuse the people here with facts, obviously the bill fo knows what they are doing

Bo Scaife - TE - Titans - Set Franchise record for receptions by a rookie TE, caught 58 passes last season and named designated as Titans Franchise player this offseason.

Quentin Jammer - CB - Chargers - has started for the Chargers at CB for the past 6 seasons and recently signed to a long-term extension.

Cedric Griffin - CB - Vikings - Has started nearly every game for the Vikes since halfway through his rookie season.

Derrick Johnson - LB - Chiefs - has started nearly every game for the Chiefs over the past 4 seasons, and at every position in the 4-3 defense.

Justin Blaylock - OG - Falcons - Started for an O line that gave up a franchise low 17 sacks last season and ranked second in rush avg. in the NFL.

Cullen Loeffler - LS - Vikings - Has handled every special teams snap for the Vikes since winning the job his rookie season (six seasons).

    Roy Williams - WR - Lions/Cowboys - Pro Bowl in '07.

    And some younger guys like:

Jamaal Charles - RB - Chiefs - Had a 5.3 yard rushing avg and caught 27 passes for a 10 yard average as a rookie last season. Appeared in a ll 16 games.

Jermichael Finley - TE - Packers - He abused our 1st string defense for 3 catches and 46 yards in our game last week. IN hi second season.

There are others, but I think you have enough names to keep you busy explaining how all of these guys are soft like every other Longhorn player this decade.

  4. Total fluke. Expect the story to bet delivered tomorrow.

My concern is that the resentment may start to build among the players. Bruce got the benefit of doubt because he grew up with the team. I can't shake the view that TO is a mercenary - a good one at that, but certainly not a player who would bleed Bills red white & blue.

when the rest of the players don't suck anymore, they can complain. starting with denny and shoebel

  5. Bite me, Sullivan

Call him "Captain Checkdown" or whatever else you want -- I love that Edwards challenged that blowhard Sullivan to let him know exactly which throws he should have made. Brilliant!

I hate sully, but he's right this time and Edwards is wrong. there were several games last year where edwards checked off and didn't see evans open downfield last year (especially after the concussion).

this would have been a good time for edwards to keep his mouth shut, and worry about the first team O actually getting the ball in the endzone

  6. He has a decent career with the Bills, look at his stats. Presently he closing out his time here.

if you count never going to the playoffs and only getting sacks at garbage time, yeah, he's been great. for once i agree with wilson saving some money, do what new england does and trade him

  7. If I were going to waste my time thinking about something that was never going to happen, I would definitely fantasize about hooking up with Jennifer Anniston before spending any time thinking about which big-name coach the Bills will never hire as long Ralphie is breathing.

    Jennifer Aniston is hot

  8. It shows that the Bills did not do their homework in the off season.

If the Bills went 1-8 against 3-4 teams, shouldn't they have brought in a 3-4 Defensive guy at least as a consultant to help out the offense and also throw in a mix to confuse opponents...

Last season the Steelers and Patriots were constantly mixing up 3-4 and 4-3 and it showed in the results.

Edwards was very smart in this situation, he basically called out the coaching staff in a politically correct way. Hopefully it will show some results

  9. Good, don't watch any of the games and stop posting. Go pick another team to watch and cheer for. I heard the Patriots are supposed to be good this year. Why don't you jump on the bandwagon. I've never seen such a bunch of fair weather wimps in all my life. They lost a preseason game and the Bills are finished move the team, fire everybody. In the years the team went to four Superbowls they might have won three preseason games in four years. The only thing I want to see in the preseason is no injuries.

and in those superbowl years, the starters would play a few series, look like they knew what they were doing, and sit down. not like this bunch of wusssy high character, high motor guys

  10. Some thoughts (JMO);

    1. Almost nobody on the first team looked anywhere close to good. IMO, that's a good thing since it's still preseason. I'd much rather they get schooled during the pre-season than in the regular season. Good teams bounce back with a strong showing the week after an embarrassment like that. The game against the Squealers should go a long way toward seeing where they really stand.

    2. One game, especially in the preseason, doesn't determine the forecast for an entire year. They can still put it together. There is plenty of time. Anyone saying 3-13 is way off base here. I don't know what their record will be but I definitely think another 7-9 season is the worst they'll do.

    3. TE was schooled last night. Hopefully he learned a lot. Holding the ball against a great D with this O-line just isn't gonna cut it. Also his play calling is weak against a team like GB. They didn't do NH much this game but he still has the ability to change the call at the LOS.

    4. Schonert needs to re-evaluate the way he attacks 3-4 defenses. The gameplan, IMO, was lackluster, even for a pre-season game. He has to look hard at his teams weakness' against 3-4 defenses and work around them. I don't think he's doing that well. He can't just look at how other teams have attacked another teams 3-4 defense because they'll have much different personnel.

    5. I say shuffle the line right now. Give it two pre-season games of work. I would like to see;

    LT - D. Bell

    LG - E. Wood

    C - Hangartner

    RG - Butler

    RT - Walker

I just don't think Levitre is ready for prime time yet. IMO, there is very little drop off from Walker to Bell. The best way for Bell to improve is to play. Put him out there.

    6. The TO not being on the field argument is weak. Good teams can keep humming without a player. If the offense is so reliant on one player then they have too many problems. Once again this goes back to Schonert's game plans.

    7. I don't know if it was the O-line's blocking schemes or just that they can't deal at all with a DL like GB's. If it's the latter then it's gonna be a long season. The inability to run the ball was horrifying when you consider Lynch and Jackson are two of the better RB's in the NFL.

    8. It was one preseason game. Don't start crying about the entire season now. At least wait three games into the regular season before starting to gauge how the team will do this season. JMO

Here's to great improvement over the next few games and in the regular season.

they looked just like last year, except worse

  11. well mr myopic, the Giants recently won a super bowl and are allowed a bad pre season game (remember the 90's Bills)

This particular team, the 2009 Bills, have sucked for a decade, a glimer of hope would be nice, Also Trent isn't being judge on one fuggin pre -season game, he's building up quite a nice resume.

there's nothing wrong with the qb (that includes losman). until the FO and that idiot wilson realize you win football games at the line of scrimmage and not with these so called high character, high motor guys, joe montana could play for this crap organization and still look like garbage

  12. while I don't think the fans are the reason the team wins or loses, I do think they are t blame for the culture of losing, cause I think they were the ones that created it by constantly complaining about every little thing. There are plenty of fans of other teams who would love to have the Bills last decade of mediocrity, over what they have had. Except the fans here make it sound like the Bills have been the very worst team ever in the last decade or so.

The Bills have not been horrible since the last Super Bowl they were in, just mediocre. Would peope here rather be Lions fans?

the culture of losing is created by that idiot wilson, who considers selling tickets to suckers is all that matters

  13. I guess I'd say it looked like one team was calling very vanilla stuff and suffering numerous execution errors and mistakes against a team that was calling a "real game" and has distinctly better players in the trenches. It was no secret that the Packers were using this game to make some decisions about starters in some close competitions, so calling some wrinkles to see how they would do isn't a bad idea.

on what planet do you spend most of your time. the first string O line got no push off on the snap whatsoever.

  14. Surely you jest. In your hypothetical world, however, I would take Shanahan. Denver was stupid for getting rid of him.

the only thing that will fix the bills is to get a new owner and hope he keeps them in buffalo. wilson is and always has been an idiot
