Off to see Bob Weir & Rat Dog with moe. tonight...

Recommended Posts

should be a good show, moe. goes on at 6 so they can get a solid 2 hours in before Rat Dog comes on....any richmonders going?

btw Chef, the Yes / Asia tix are 20.00 each, not 10.00 like I had stated

Hooray for moe. -- a great band with good Buffalo connections. I used to jam with Vinnie Amico (drums) when he was at UB and playing with other UB'ers in a band called Sonic Garden. Al Schnier (guitar) was dating a UB friend of mine and would regularly visit UB from Utica. It's great to see that they've been doing so well for so long.

Have fun at the show, Pooj! Oh, and sorry for the LAMP reply. How rude of me!

I love moe. but if you want to see them you really need to see them alone or at least headlining so you get the full show.

How long was the show, Pooj? Give us a brief review, if you will.

Here's the moe. setlist.

Spaz Medicine> Akimbo, Water> Hector's Pillow> Darkness, Letter Home> St. Augustine> Waiting For The Punchline, Recreational Chemistry

That's pretty much a half a moe show.

I've also heard that RatBob sucks. I've heard Bob is not that good without the rest of the bandmates.

And here's the Rat Dog set:

Oh and BTW I missed moe.'s encore: Plane Crash. So I can't even cut and paste right. BTW Plane Crash is my favorite song to listen to while hammered on a plane.

verse 1:

Up in the sky it's bird it's a plane

Yea it's a plane

I'm not afraid to fly im not afraid

Yea I guess I'm afraid

Fear is a good thing

It teaches us humility

And it can keep us sane

So I'll fly high if I have to

If I could I take the train

verse 2:

Livin away from home on the road all the time

Ah, all the time

Driving up and down and back and forth

no reason or rhyme

Yea you guess right

Makes a grown man confront his fears

Consider options he'd normally decline

I'm gonna find my ticket to fly

I'm gonna fly

I'm gonna fly

chorus:

Strap me in, tie me down

and roll me a bone

I'm gettin on an airplane

and I'm flying home

Strap me in, tie me down

I'm learning to fly

Drive across the country

I get too !@#$in high

(too !@#$in high) I don't wanna die

(too !@#$in high) too !@#$in high

(too !@#$in high) too !@#$in high

(too !@#$in high) Yea

verse 3:

fly me so high yea 20' 30 thousand

that's pretty high

when they take off my chest sinks

my ears pop I pray

I lie

I think about the network news to torture myself

and to pass the time

they tell me my seat cusion is a floatation device

pray to God they ain't lying

repeat chorus

well I requested that Bob Weir let moe. have the whole evening, but he said 'no'...it was out of my control at that point...however i may go see them in syracuse on saturday...either that or Dan Ackroyd hosting the Blues Festival in Clinton Square

Dean the show was great...I was a bit distracted however due to some drug users and pushers and middlemen causing a ruckus to my right.....so i kind of lost focus....oh yeah, and the rent a cops were nazi-like

I would take moe. over Dan Ackroyd. Actually the ultimate would be a one on one with Akroyd in his wine cellar with moe. performing for us.
