Let me get on with my box elder bug speel! Do you have any box elder trees (mainly the female or "helicopter" bearing trees) around you? They seem to hoard on them and then the female box elder bug will over-winter in house till spring... They are affected by the heat and sun and will generally follow the "sunny side." Oh... The box elder is a maple tree WITHOUT the classic maple leaf shape... It has an ASH shaped leaf... Grows really fast (most farmers used them for quick wind breaks... Epsecially in the Mid-West) in ANY kind of soil... Oh, and this little tidbit, I heard that it will not bonsai (one of the few plants). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
