I suspect we'll always measure speeches by this one. He made CHANGES to it on the train ride... Still given about two weeks notice, he was a little taken aback. I bet there are a ton of answers and lore. IMO, it had to take him a lot more thought than we think... IMO Officially Abraham Lincoln wrote the speech at the Whitehouse, but made changes to it on the train ride to Gettysburg. Exactly when he may have written it is unclear. I thought she may have taken criticism too harshly and left and I felt bad for her.
