Mock Draft

In this draft the impact players will be gone by the 9th selection.

Not true by any means. This is one of the most deep drafts that I can ever remember for the OL, DL, and WR prospects. I mean there is alot of REAL players out there at these positions. Go and do a search on it for yourself bro'. You also have to take into consideration the surprises that come out of the draft like Marques Colston. There are also UFA's that end up making an impact like Willie Parker. It's pretty outragious to say that the "impact" players will be gone after pick #9.

This is the draft I would like to see:

1. Everett Brown-DE-FSU (over Maybin if he's available) or Aaron Maybin-DE-Penn St. (if Brown's gone)

2. Max Unger-C-Oregon

3. Tyrone McKenzie-OLB-South Florida

4. James Casey-TE-Rice (2008 stats are 111 catches, 1,329 yards, and 13 TD's, that's a career for some TE's :wallbash: )

5. Augustus Parrish-OT-Kent St. (Very athletic and GOOD run blocker, possible starter at RT within a couple of seasons)

6. Jamarko Simmons-WR-Western Michigan (2008 stats 98 catches, 1,184 yards, and 7 TD's at 6'2" 235lbs. )

7. Greg Isdaner-OG-West Virginia

I would love this, but the only change I would make, (in a perfect world) is draft Chase Coffman in the third round if he was available...

Like H2O said, "NOT TRUE". If Everette Brown isn't there at 11 another impact player that is bound to be there is Aaron Curry. He wouldn't be the pass rush specialist we need, but he would impact the LB core the way Jerod Mayo did with the Pats last year.

i like how we're not even halfway through January and everyone is so sure of the current draft "rating" (whatever those mean) that they are trying to figure out ways to justify NOT taking the best Center in the draft...

you guys can keep your ratings and terms like "reach". none of that stuff matters and it has only been made up so nerds like Kiper can have something to talk about.

Well good Dr., who is this best Center in the draft you are referring to? And how did you come to the conclusion that he is the best?

I'd take Coffman if he was available in the 3rd as well, but most have him ranked late 2nd or EARLY 3rd from what I've seen. Casey would be my guy if Coffman was gone. I've never seen a TE that put up numbers like that before in college in my entire life. Not Shockey, not Winslow, not Olsen, not Keller, not Greshem, not Pettigrew, not Coffman, not anyone that played TE in college. Most "big-time" WR's don't get 100+ catches, 1,300+ yards, and 13 TD's. You know that defenses tried to gameplan around this guy's ability and they still couldn't stop him. I think he could be THE STEAL of the draft if we got him in the 4th. Look at how the guy is built as well. His nickname is Thor if that tells you guys anything.

Crappy quality picture, but look at that catch!!!

Look at this strength!!!

I think I'd take him over Coffman for real. :wallbash:

For my money Everette Brown is the guy. I've watched quite a few FSU games this year and from what I've seen he has a wide range of pass rush moves to go along with all that speed. I like maybin as well but significantly less polished and could take longer to develop. Orakpo is well behind these two and to me has three moves bull rush, wide angle speed rush, and stand around. Either way the difference between Brown and a second round DE is much greater than Mack and a second round center. :wallbash:
