Tossed to cameras in thr trash so far

I had a canon and a kodak . Both ended up with a frozen lens that got stuck. It cost almost as much to fix it than buying a new one.

I did a search for this problem and saw several brands having this problem. Is there one, someone can suggest, that has a good track record in the lens department. Or should I purchase a warranty next time...thanks

Are you talking about standard point-and-shoot type cameras? If so I've had two -- one Fuji Finepix, which is still running strong after three years, and one Nikon Coolpix, which I just got in May. Knock on wood but no problems for either, and both were in the $150 range.

We had a lens on a Canon freeze on us a number of years ago. We were on vacation in France. We were driving around and came across the perfect scene. Lush green hills with grazing cows and a chateau hill up on a hill with fog and mist. The once in a lifetime shot. Pointed the camera and nothing.
