I think this exact thread started by someone else got lost on DDay last month....if anyone wants to retype their thoughts that would be great.

Thinking about going in May with the wife.

Any specific suggestions? Is San Juan the place to stay? I'm a little worried about staying there because it seems a little too city-like, and I'd prefer a more caribbean style vacation (I know PR isn't the best for that, but still).

any thoughts on where to stay (area or specific hotel) would be great.

Senor Frogs is a must. My wife and I always have a good time anytime we go in there! :P:worthy:;)

I used to travel to San Juan on business a lot. I either stayed in the Condado area or at the El San Juan (very famous hotel) in Isla Verde. Both have casino's, but I preferred Condado - more to walk to, etc. If you stay in SJ - you MUST go to a restaurant called Bottles. I will have to ask one of my co-workers the name of the area where it is, but it is a MUST. P.M. me if you want more info.

I dont remember much of my 10 days there except for Papa Joes and Dons Lighthouse...DONT TAKE YOUR WIFE TO EITHER!!!...

Oh and I think it is still legal to drive drunk there as long as you put your hazard lights on. that way if you hit someone it will be their fault for not getting out of your way.
