Stats are stats....but I was definitely surprised to see Kelly's QB rating in 1988. Thought it would be a whole lot better than 78....

yea, i just finished reading this before coming into TSW. pretty crazy, and i do like how the author stressed that we are a while off before jp is truly mentioned in the same breath as any of the qbs listed. suprisingly though, the kids numbers are pretty good.

But, wins and losses are so much more dependent on the team as a whole. Now, I completely agree its important. But, if a QB is in a position like JP was on Sunday and continually throws ints. Then he's to blame. However, if we punt and the defense doesn't get us the ball back; can you really chalk that up to poor QB play.

 

Yes, wins and losses are the most important stat. However, you can't really use them to judge a single player.
