Whitney Houston's marriage to Roxbury-bred R&B singer Bobby Brown is finally over. Word is the pop diva, who showed up alone at an event in Beverly Hills Tuesday, filed the paperwork last week, and Brown was served yesterday. ``I can just confirm that she has filed for divorce," Houston's publicist Nancy Seltzer told the Associated Press. The pair, whose marriage lasted 14 tumultuous years, have one child together, a 13-year-old daughter named Bobbi Kristina. Houston, 43, enjoyed her greatest success in the '80s and '90s , when she scored several No. 1 hits, including "I Will Always Love You." But in recent years, as she and Brown have battled drug and alcohol problems, their respective stars have dimmed considerably. Brown's days as a chart-topper are just a memory. For the past decade, he's been mostly in and out of court. In 2004, the "Don't Be Cruel" singer was sentenced to 90 days in a Massachusetts jail for failing to financially support two children he has with former girlfriend Kim Ward. Last year, Houston and Brown were the subject of a reality TV show, but the couple behaved bizarrely and the show was not renewed. Brown, 37, reunited this summer with his former group, New Edition, at the Essence Music Festival in Texas, but the singer managed to make a spectacle of himself by jumping around suggestively and making crude comments about his sex life with Houston. With his marriage to Whitney on the rocks, Brown's been linked to Karrine Steffans, a star of hip-hop videos and author of a New York Times bestseller called ``Confessions of a Video Vixen."

Too little, too late... talk about damaged goods. :D
