NFL | Bernard to make an undisclosed visit

Sun, 12 Mar 2006 22:15:20 -0800

Danny O'Neil, of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, reports free agent DT Rocky Bernard (Seahawks) has a visit scheduled for the upcoming week, but his agent's office has declined to disclose his travel plans.

Maybe it is the visit Marv talked about when he spoke with the press about the 3 FA signings. I sure hope so.

According to footballoutsiders.com which break down positions. Seattle had the best dline last season. Bernard is a relatively young and pretty damn good player.

yeah i know they were on the roster, and at one time, they were our top 3. however, we have an entire new GM and HC, and none of those players are on the roster, so how can you say we love them? if we loved them we wouldnt have let pat walk, we wouldnt have cut adams, and we would have edwards re-signed.

This is kind of odd -- Bernard's agent turned down a invite from the Giants because of this mystery visit. Why would a team want to keep it secret that they were having a quality free agent visit? The only thing I can think of is that the team doesn't want to upset a player already on its roster in case Bernard does not sign. That type of situation would not happen with the Bills, I don't think, as Marv Levy has already made it clear the Bills are in the market for another DT.

I'd rather have this guy than Nga, Nga, Na gonna play for the Bills. I like Ngata but if we can fill the DT spot with a quality FA then that frees us up for Davis, Huff ("special" players) or free to trade down and pick up more draft picks.
